- Boss of the 5th chapter
Tips: This is probly the second most difficult boss in this game. Hes not the easiest, unless you equip the right badges! Make sure to put on your Ice smash badge yougot in chapter 4, and your fire sheild badge you got in chapter 5. These 2 badges are lifesavers! It will acualy make his second form more easier than his first. Useing shushi makes this fight easy to. Make sure you have at least water block with her, and try to get tidle wave to. There both very helpful in this fight. Use your power bounce badge like always to. Bring a super shroom to if you can. What Shushis water block does is makes fire moves do 1 hp less of damage. Which helps out alot in the long run. If you have any damage dodge badges then maybe you should equip them to. You need all the help you can get. As for the small piranhas, if you can hit them with a mutihit move live tidle wave then kill them, if not just attack the big guy. That goes for the petit piranha to!

This boss was a major roadblock when I was a kid. After replaying it years later it became one of my favorites.
This boss and Huff-N-Puff. Those two were the toughest for me. It took me less time to beat Crystal King and Bowser combined then either of those.

My favourite is general guy because of the music I love the battle theme. Lava piranha comes 2nd
lamo, I have a really funny story about this guy. When I was a kid playing this game, this was the first guy I died to. when I died, I yelled FUCK so loud, legit everyone on my block herd me lamo.

Any one notice that the lava piranha gets severely brain (or root) damaged because his tongue is hanging out like is having a stroke and it still hasn’t resolved by The end. Kind of like how the axem Rangers stay dead in Mario rpg.
The frame rate runs better than the N64 Switch emulation.
This was recorded on a real N64 with a cheap capture card.
As a kid I legitimately thought the plant was going to get decapitated as he’s being repeatedly hit with a broken neck
I found a way to refight lava piranha from chapter 8. Lakilester is a lifesaver in this.
JamesPlays7789 Lol it's pretty easy since he's stored under the map and being able to refight him whenever you want is a pretty fun way to grind for star points
There was this weird bug where any time I threw an egg bomb at this boss the game would crash
Lava piranhas head is too close to the top of the screen.
Due to the fact the animation plays outside of the screens registered hitbox it can’t register the animation properly and the game gets soft locked.
@@spencerbowden2979that and it's also trying to run an animation that doesn't exist (pretty sure it's exclusive to lava piranha since it has no charred effect)
on this boss i was like o crap 40 hp then i beat it then i was like oh thank god then it came back to life and then.....................FUUUUUUUUU-

I didn't know that water block effect will be so useful.
If you’ve ever used the chill out water block combo it nerfs your opponents attack power so hard.
I remember my mom getting pissed because I raged at this boss.

Have Goombario Ultra Ranked, and have at least Ice power. Badges: Defend Plus, Ice power (or bring a Snowman Doll) 2 Damage Dodges Lucky Badges (Close call, Pretty lucky) Power Bounce, and Mega (or Power) Rush if your desperate. Bring a couple Super Shrooms. Charge with Goombario for the first phase, Turn 1: Mario, Chill Out Goombario: Charge. Keep repeating it, use Chill out when you need to refresh it. (remember to hit those blocks!) All other turns: Power Bounce. Phase 2: Mario turn 1: Jump (or Snowman Doll (So Goombario will be safe Multibonking.) Phase 2: Goombario turn 1: Hyper-charged Multibonk. If all goes right, you should be doing at least 21 per bonk. after that, GG!
Could you imagine if this dude had 3 forms? I probably wouldn't have finished the game as a kid. 2 was already difficult enough
I had the ice power badge on this boss fight. That really did the trick!

I did this with 10 hp and 10 fp and if u use ise smash, fire shield, sushies water block, defend plus and damage dodge you are almost unbeatable for this fight

You mean Ice Power? Ice Smash existed starting TTYD.
If you use chill out water block combo and equip fire shield he can’t hurt you if you input an action command to block the last point.

i remember this boss giving me a hard time as a kid.
Am I the only one who expected Lava Pirahna to look like he was made of lava and fire. I was quite disappointed to see it wasn’t.
Hell no I always thought this boss was epic, my 5 year old brain saw him as basically a dragon back in that time! He will to this day always be the coolest boss from Paper Mario for me and my brother

I have everything but Damage Dodge and Fire Shield. I am very to close to throwing our Switch into a wall and never coming back to this boss. I really, really, really hate this.
Fire sheild is in this dungeon, it's in the first room with the pulleys mario grabs onto, you have to jump off it mid way thru on the last pulley in the room IIRC

What really sent me over the edge is I had him beat. I used the stomp that cost 3FP to cast. The one where you keep going until you miss a button press. Well, I took out his first form so fast *3 rounds he barely had the chance to hit me. His second round surprised me and using Sushi I had him down to 27 HP. I completely ignored the two mini bulbs and fire guys. I survived his onslaught and had 10 HP left. I thought...I'm going to put his lights out now and I went for the kill shot (I'm crazy good at timing the bounces). I knocked him from 27 HP all the way down to 9 and I figured I would survive one more go around. I was wrong.
This played out 10 times and I got so mad I started save scumming in between bounces going for optimal jumps and I still failed. What really pisses me off is his hit box is strange and it seems to cause the multi-bounce to fail at random times. When I get home I will try getting all the items and set up Mario like you have in this video. I made sure to keep a save outside the point of no return spot.
Here's a cool tip on how to beat him fast. Simply equip the Double Dip badge, then use Egg Bombs on him!

Fuck this boss it’s literally impossible without maxed out Sushie.
How is ist possible to beat it?? - I‘m not strong enough and i already beat every opponent in the volcano. But the Problem is i can‘t escape from the volcano???
Excuse-the-fuck me? lvl 14? How is that possible? I assume you farmed at some point, cause i reached this boss at lvl 11. No wonder it's almost impossible for me, i have 15HP lol

Little Game Dude I didn’t die either but over all I didn’t have any fun with the chapter whatsoever. The whole finding Yoshi part was so boring. Fighting those fuzzys where a waste of time if you have the zap tap, and to top it all off this boss is in my opinion the worst boss in the entire series.
