Because it’s actually the way of life and helping humanity-,
In our faith everything we have learned is that there’s a only 1 creator,
We live on 1 planet and that’s our home ,
      We all are same ,
      Humanity is our religion and
      our religion is humanity
      ,
      God is great

John Smith they love the way sikh live ,
They more like givers for humanity,
      Selfless service -
Protector of human rights- even though India government always slaughter them ,
Respecting every one equally, no different,
Rich poor are treated same ,
And believe in one and his beautiful creations

Katie H, ALL religion = Man trying to reach/become God
      But...
JESUS = GOD trying to reach MAN. It is HIS work, which has all power. It is HIS heart that is pure and free from stain... it is acceptance of HIS SON as our FREE GIFT which saves our souls from the second death... please consider these words:
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23)
"But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." (Isaiah 64:6)
"The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" (Jeremiah 17:9‭)
"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." (Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9)
"But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith." (Galatians 3:22‭-‬24)

      leonardjr88.
      Respect King.
I think all it would take is for a critical mass of Rastafari to unite
with a common message and a petition for full equal rights as a religious Faith. The prohibition of Cannabis has been the main excuse from the System, but that argument is disintegrating with the medical and recreational usage being legalized in various states. Certainly, Spiritual-Religious usage must take precedence and be allowed under the constitution.
      We must Unite and Organize.
Perhaps some Sikhs and righteous ones of other Faiths may speak up for I and I.
      The Most High Bless.

Divjot Singh I find this fascinating, and oddly, somehow feel connected to a lot of the core understands of what is being said.
Being part of the universe, and helping others. Music and how it interacts with our physical space. How it unifies and can carry energy that transcends above it's physical mechanics. That everything is connected within what people would call inner space. That we are a reflection from within ourselves(?).
Yet, hearing things in this video was almost like some of my personal attributes are naturally in alignment with them.
I felt a form of connection listening to this.
I'm not sure why that may be?

There is definitely a universal truth that is in every human and beyond the physical materialistic world, within. In order to connect with the exterior world, we cannot be attached to it, we first must connect with our true essence.

Ned Raw You can be a Sikh without changing your relegion as long as you believe in basic tenants of all are equal, justice, seva etc and one God (Something on the lines of Force in Star Wars) and believe in truth since truth is exact and a constant - it can't increase or decrease you don't need to explain it through examples, stories or parables.

Not necessarily. 10th Guru specifically tell Hindus & Muslims to be his type of Hindu and Muslims so that they break the cycle of life and death.
If you want an all inclusive path then look into Hinduism as they believe Hinduism Jainism Buddhism ... and Sikhism, (name a religion and they'll claim it as a sect of Hinduism) are branches of Hinduism and will lead to the same destination. Its just that their definition of Sikhism is polar opposite In a way and its totally hypocritical of what Sikh Gurus emphasized in all their teachings.

      @maipardhan 2 года назад

@@chadliampearcy most of the religions have not forgotten or forgiven other religions. Christians are always in clash with jews, Muslims with non Muslims, hindus with Muslims but Sikhs have forgotten the former religions which threatened and killed many of its disciples. Since its conception sikhism was opposed by mughal kings and there were countless genocides with brutal killings of women and babies by the ruling muslim faction but today if you ask any Muslim which community will help them first, they would name sikhs. Same is with the hindus who have been culprit of sikh genocide in 1984. I don't find this forgiveness anywhere.

      @chadliampearcy 2 года назад

@@maipardhan I don't oppose that observation. I know of Christians most, whom preach of love and forgiveness but are either hypocritical with it and most in need of their own advice, or its in a clearly toxic form. I've heard things of Muslims and Jews aswell but I'm less familiar with them.
Could you expand and clarify what Sikhs Forgiveness means? What mechanism do they have to stay strong and intact? How do they not end up like the 'pagans'? Also something I just thought of, how do they avoid the trope "No Good Deed Goes Unpunished?"
As for India, I believe the country is big enough and better off with a multitude of Indian Born religions. Hinduism, Sikhism & Buddhism are all important for an awesome Indian culture. I mean I get why the country would oppose Muslims with the whole conflict that formed Pakistan & Bangladesh. And Christians are barely worth mentioning of why they would, should be opposed to them. But really India is stronger if they embrace their own multiculturalism. They are weak if they single out Hinduism or even any one religion exclusivity.

Not bad for a quick overview on Sikhism (or Sikhi, as Sikhs themselves often call it). I know a bit about Sikhi, from previous time spent in India. The only criticism I have of the video, is that you have mis-pronounced some of the Sikh terms which you used (eg Guru Nanak, Guru Granth Sahib, sewa, & so on). Also while Sikhi may indeed be very much about a way of life, most practising Sikhs would say that they also very much value the "religious" aspects of their faith, such as prayer, meditation, meeting together, studying their scriptures etc as part of that way of life. I almost forgot to say "thank you" for even doing a video about Sikhi - because, despite the fact that it is the 5th largest religion in the world, it can often be forgotten about, when people talk about the major religions of the world. Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, & others often rate a mention, while Sikhi is somehow left out, which I think this is a shame, because it could teach people a lot...

The best thing about religions that have developed in the sub-continent is their communion. A Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain can visit, eat, live, marry and so on among each other without losing their own self identity or imposing their views on others. That's our strength.

Guru Nanak Dev ji was born in talwandi(now in pakistan punjab) in 1469.Punjab was divided in 1947. half of punjab is in india and half in pakistan. it was a very large state. you showed present day punjab on map but at that time when pakistan was not created, most of the land belonged to punjab. So guru saab was born in western punjab which is now a part of pakistan.

I never realized how sensible the belief systems for Hindus and Sikhs were. I kinda grew up thinking of Hindu deities like super heros. With that limited basis of understanding I thought it had more to do with make believe stuff. This is the first time someone has explained a religion to me and it sounded like they were saying stuff that made sense and doesn’t even really require faith cause it makes sense. I actually already had a lot of those ideas written down prior to seeing this video. I was thinking I’d make my own religion if no one else was sharing these ideas. Now I’m thinking I might just be a wayward Sikh. I think maybe Sikhs should try to convert people sometimes.
