Rachel Fury one of the backning vocalists (to the right) is the coolest lady. This is one of PinkFloyds best songs for me. Thank you guys for a great reaction. Cheers from a finn in Sweden.
Old timer here : ) First listen to PF was "Meddle" in '71. What a great performance this tour was. 11:18 The backup vocalist just let's go with that wail. Even from a video I get a chill down my spine. Just found your channel. Great work!!
Great reaction! ❤ Another very emotional song of theirs (among many) is High Hopes. It's absolutely beautiful and speaks to your soul. And it hits harder the older you get. ❤ I'd recommend the live version from the Pulse tour.
Great reaction from both of you. If I may add - David Gilmour’s guitar is plugged directly into his soul and he does not waste notes! Look forward to more Floyd reactions.
The song is about NOT turning away from the "weak and the weary", those poor and suffering who need our help. And, David has given much over the years to various deserving charities.
Then there’s a very important question to be asked… Why hasn’t David been knighted yet? With his charity work, and his contribution to music….. why is he not SIR David Gilmore ?
New subscriber here. I love your reaction to my favorite band of all time! I’m 64 and still can never get enough of PF and the guitar mastery of David Gilmour. Thank you and keep the PF coming. It’s an almost unending list of songs to discover!
Hi guys, love your reaction great comments. You need to watch some of his latest tour started October and finished November of this year. The guy is nearly 80 years old and is amazing, he is unbelievable there is no difference in his playing from 10, 20 years ago David Gilmour is a musical genius I'm not giving too much away, you need to watch for yourself. I'm nearly 69 years old and i have been following Pink Floyd since 1968 but mainly David Gilmour and i love all his solo albums, you need to have a look at some of his songs/ videos you will be presently surprised. Some unbelievable solos, instrumentals. Give 5am. And then.a listen you will be amazed. Keep PINK FLOYD reaction videos coming guys. Cheers
On the subject of band members the bass player in this video is Guy Pratt. He also did Pulse and he was the only band member who was with David in the tour he finished a couple weeks ago. He'd been playing with David then for 39 years.
@@deepsouthNZ now that is a cool factoid. Like Ringo Starr and Joe Walsh being brothers-in-law. Or Robert Plant being Jason Bonham’s godfather. I love shit line that.

From what I understand it was just Dave and Nick official members , and Rich was still getting paid . Roger kicked him out after The Wall. They later did bring back as a official member
I remember buying this cassette when it came out. This is a great song and one of my favorites. I hardly ever recommend the music video, but the one for this song is outstanding.
Original lineup ... Syd Barret , Roger Waters , Richard Wright and Nick Mason . Dave Gilmour replaced Syd Barret after Syd's dalliance with drugs sent him to the dark side . Roger waters left in 1985 leading to legal battles and the ongoing feud with David . Guy Pratt has been the defacto bass player with Floyd and Dave Gilmours solo stuff ever since . Guy also married Richards daughter . He just finished David's solo tour last month . Check out the podcast Rockonteurs interview on RUclips Guy did with David . Also the interview Rick Beato did with David also on RUclips. Fascinating stuff .
Wearing the Inside Out is a great song from the Division Bell. It's unique in that there are lyrics from 3 different perspectives. Live versions are few and far between, but you can find one from David's Remeber That Night DVD.
Pink Floyd were just Gilmour, Mason and Wright and just Gilmour and Mason after Wright's death, but though he has never been a band"member" bassist Guy Pratt has been a constant through to the present day. In fact he has just finished touring with Gilmour (78 now) last month. Pratt also plays bass for Nick Mason's Saucerful of Secrets. (as well as being Richard Wright's son in law). Had their first album from release, saw them first in 69, saw the 88 tour at Wembley and was in Earls Ct on the night they recorded Pulse. They are the story of my life, I'm 75 and my kids and grandkids play Pink Floyd, because they are timeless.
David Gilmour is the Master. Try "Comfortably Numb" from "Pulse" live, probably the best guitar solo ever and "Time" from "Dark Side of the Moon" a song of incredible depth and meaning. I know its a reaction but rule number 1 is thou shalt not interrupt a David Gilmour solo!!!
If you haven’t already done it ( not showing on your list) you just have to react to Comfortably Numb from the Pulse concert , also Great Gig in the Sky and Wish you were here from the same Pulse concert.
Check out the song Trains by Porcupine Tree. Outstanding. Steven Wilson is a genius in my humble opinion. His solo stuff is worth checking as well as a collaboration he did called Blackfield with Aviv Geffen... again outstanding stuff .
@@MysticalMojos Being a drummer I'm hoping you do a reaction to The Ventures - Wipeout live in Japan 1966 for some insane drumming and guitar skills. All the best from the far north of New Zealand and Merry Christmas when the time comes.
Just a quick comment on the audiences for Pink Floyd and David Gilmour. They are not that much different today, as seen in David Gilmour, 4th Nov 2024, at Madison Square Gardens NYC. With his daughter Romany.
you mentioned that Floyd is a "prog" band. Yes...I guess that might be the closest genre to what they were. But, to me, they were their own genre. I mean, really, there is, at least to me, little resemblance between Floyd's sound and that of Genesis, or Yes, or ELP, or King Crimson, or Jethro Tull, or Kansas or Rush. Perhaps The Moody Blues. What I DO hear is that they have influenced some prog metal bands, such as Porcupine Tree, The Pineapple Thief....both of which have moments of that ethereal sound.
Rush's primary influences were Yes and King Crimson along with Zeppelin. Floyd was in a different galaxy we go to and get overwhelmed by. Gilmour's latest album Luck and Strange leaves you in tears with his emotive playing and heart ripping lyrics penned by primarily his wife Polly.
Roger waters? Entire “another brick In the wall double cd is the reason he’s considered a) an asshole and b) no longer a part of Pink Floyd but also, c) the entire inspiration of the movie/album.
Intelligent, insightful and all round excellent reaction! The band was a synergy of genius where the resulting whole was greater than the sum of the parts. And even after Roger left, the remaining genius was still in evidence. Please do more Pink Floyd. You do know David is still going strong at 78 years young, and he released a new album in Sept, and completed a 21 show tour in Rome, London, Los Angeles and New York. In his own words on the "making of" video , he says it's the best work he's done since Dark Side of the Moon. None of the cell phone videos of the concerts are any good... (fidelity of a phone mic is poor) You would both enjoy watching the making of Luck And Strange: ruclips.net/video/EckHimWp9NI/видео.html ( David Gilmour - The Making of Luck and Strange ) And here's two decent recordings of the tour band: ruclips.net/video/GcMtQbyokzs/видео.html ( David Gilmour - The Piper's Call (Later... with Jools Holland) ) And this one features his daughter Romany singing lead: ruclips.net/video/Yv4--p6bAxo/видео.html ( David Gilmour with Romany Gilmour - Between Two Points (Later... with Jools Holland) ) She certainly has inherited some of that Gilmour magic... sounds like an angel, and playing a harp no less....
