- Microwave - Sims 1 vs Sims 2 vs Sims 3 vs Sims 4
Here is a simple Sims comparison between all Sims games on how the microwave works in the game. The Sims 1 and The Sims 3 are similar, the meal doesn't move. The Sims 2 meal rotates in the microwave. And in The Sims 4, you can't actually see in the microwave.
Sims 2 was just so ahead of its time
its still ahead of 4
Naaah, they just have lower standards now. No way a newer version of the game should be worse than the older ones. Not when they can *see* the level of detail. Your example of A level work is there, but ya still failed. Except with build mode. I'll give Some 4 that.
How? They were microwaving BOXES😂
it’s a freaking microwave 😂
@@nunyabusiness3516 look at the animation details and how different it is to the other games. the way the box switches to an actual meal, how the sim presses actual buttons, the microwave is fully see through and you can see your meal being cooked and its sounds! its not just about it being a microwave but the game overall and how much love, care and detail they put into it and all of its areas. it makes the game so much more realistic, so much more depth and just overall more enjoyable to play
the way we can all tell sims 2 was made with love
I want to buy it again & experience that love with fresh eyes 🩷
EA needs to play Sims 2 and reevaluate the new Sims game or fix/add for Sims 4.
ikr
@@samerinaa not an og sims player but i recently downloaded sims 2 and after a few hours of gameplay i deleted sims 4. ngl even though sims 4 is more modern and you have more dlc options it’s still boring.
@@dheireea not going to happen, when the director of Sims is a fat Karen who use to be a TS2 era "beta tester"

The way the Sims 2 food actually spins and changes colour halfway through… man, there’s a reason I still play that 20 year old game to this day. It’s so damn good!
I took the time to install it on my laptop because Sims 4 is boring.
I wish I could play it but it refuses to launch past the initial EA Logo
Best game I’ve ever played. I’ve been playing the ds games aswell lol
I play sims 2 sims 3 and sims 4 lol sims 2 is honestly a little harder to play and challenging for me and has some extra needs too which is the one thing I like about.

I always hated how in TS4, they don’t just put things down normally, it teleports.
that's why it looked so strange to me! for the longest time i had no clue why it looked weird to me. no joke, you've just unlocked why for me.

Sims 2 - 75% Maxis/25% EA
Sims 3 - 50% Maxis/50% EA
Sims 4 - 100% EA
That is the reason right there!
Exactly
This 💯
Proves that EA needs to get as far away as possible from the Sims franchise. Sims 1 & 2 will forever be two of the best games to come out of EA. Maxis needs to come back for Project Rene.
Not just the sims franchise but away from game industry lol @@gothic_girl5715
Will never understand how TS2 has more realistic graphics than 4 🙁
The wanted Sims 4 to be playable on more devices. They learned after Sims3 that they'd sell more if it wasn't resource demanding.
@@TheCoolTeamAnd yet still players need high end computers to run everything, while modders have continued to optimize TS2 and TS3 further, as well as adding in every aspect TS4 has (that they do not have), and meanwhile, EA (after 10+ years), still has not implemented the bulk of content still missing (including from TS1), and what the have implemented, is only in part. Just face it, TS4 no longer fits the Life Simulator genre, but is just an overpriced DLC Simulator.
I don't know about that. The food looked way too appetizing to be a real microwave meal lol
Cause their giving the people working on it extremely short deadlines
The Sims 2 was made with love, The Sims 4 was made to be sold (aka lazy AF)
Could never figure out why I always loved TS2 more than the other releases. Realizing now that I’m older it’s because the attention to detail and pure PASSION of the developers shine through it like non other. Even if you only subtly notice it, you notice it. It was made during a period where every game at that time was crafted with love- you don’t see that anymore unless it’s indie.
100%. This has happened to other companies, too. I remember being touched by a certain company dedicating their game to their families- 15 years forward, and all they do is develop soulless mobile games with changing backstories etc.
Still remember the first time being abducted and impregnated by aliens, fucking terrifying.
Not The Sims 1 being better animated than The Sims 4 💀
Wdym. Sims 3 was the worst. At least some sims 4 dev thought about doing something to deal with no spinning.
@@lyn0083 in real life not all microwaves have a way to spin, and that microwave in sims 3 didn't have that plate and you could still see the food in the microwave, so still more accurate then sims 4 that just has privacy glass lazily made lol

Sims 4 : sudden white screen 🤡
My guess is that Sims 3 had so much going on in the large open world that they didn't want to add another animation that could make that game even harder to run. Sims 4 is just lazy.

I can’t stop cackling
That's the sound when you discover that you are a sims 4 character, with a boring microwave animation
🤮🤮one of reasons why i hate the sims 4
Lmao. Even though I kind of like sims 4, that's one of the things that annoys me. The constant noises and staring off into space that the sims do randomly. I think it annoys me most when they take a bite out of food, set it down, and emote.
Sims 1-3: Actually putting it into the microwave
Sims 4: Teleportation
sims 2 always kicking ass
U ass?
Sims 1 : how we all watched the microwave when we were younger.
Omg you can even see the sims 2 food frozen. Im having the best time playing this game again, from animations to gameplay, everything has so much sense and is so immersive. Im trying to get into 3 but the sims are so robotic and creepy and the the gameplay music when stuff happens is way too extra. 4 I left in the ditch years ago
the thing about the Sims 2 I don't like about it is we can't customize their face and body sims 4 has the better features than the Sims 2 cas also I'm hearing that they're going to be fixing these problems that people point it out about it they're going to redoing the animations for those stuff that this video is pointing out
@@queenel3574 theres mods to add additional sliders. I like the limitations of Sims 2, too much customisation prevents the games to have recognisable items/clothes

malinay!
an example of how the sims peaked at TS2 in many aspects, and then only went downhill from there - lots of details were lost in ts3, and even more in ts4
So true! I grew up playing TS3 and still love it, but there's a heartiness to TS2 that they just haven't been able to replicate since
I remeber TS2 being criticised for lack of conten when it was released compared to the TS1 that already had bunch of expansions but the level of detail and features it had were such a big leap from TS1. It's sad that we lost so many content going to TS3 and TS4
the animation difference from the sims 1 to 2 is incredible
Oddly enough, the sims 1 has a nice animation to me dispite the meal not spinning. Idk I just like that the sim's crouching down a little while they wait for their meal to finish heating up.
I love this too! Even the Sims 1 sims showed more personality and realism than the the sims in Sims 4 do…
The sims 2 microwave, freaking, spins, wow
And of course, The Sims 2 blows all of em' out of the water. The Sims 4 is just.. lazy.
Wow Sims 4 didn't even try...

-screen gets greyed out while cooking

food teleports into hand.... sims 4 could've been so much better if maxis had full control over it
Sims 4 literally said we give up on smooth transitions with constraints for animation. 😂 even with the clipping 1-3 was a nice touch but the teleporting objects is so sad for sims 4. At least the cooking animation is fun :\
Recently went from sims 4 to sims 3 and i haven’t gone back, now I don’t know where to play sims 2 as I didn’t find it in the EA store but it looks more fun than 3! The team really worked backwards with this game
I'm so glad everyone is going back to Sims 1,2, and 3 no one is really playing Sims 4
Do you remember the scream when sims were on fire in the sims 1? It was horrifying
The fact they added the spinning plate thing in Sims 4, but didn’t make a spinning animation is crazy dude 🤣

The constant fly buzzing sound in the sims 1 😅
The Sims 4, as always, has the least animations.
The Sims 2 is the most detailed of the entire series
I like how the Sims 1 shes pushing buttons as shes closing the door. I love a multitasker ❤
sims 1,2 and sims 3 is when sims team cared for the game
Sims 1 "can't afford the visual details, your crt monitor can't probably show them anyway"
Sims 2 "we now can afford a little spinning, isn't it great?"
Sims 3 "we can't afford little details, there's an entire town outside, your microwave won't spin"
Sims 4 "details? We weren't even going to give you pools without a dlc, and now you're asking for small details? The screen isn't even transparent now"
To me if it wasn't for the building system of sims 4 (mostly empty without any dlc) 3 would have a hard win over all the games, the easy texture editing the game had was great, you could even easily import new textures with a tool from the game
❤
Sims1,2,3: picks up things normally
Sims 4 : *slaps items to pick them up*
Froms Sims 2, it got worse
Sims 2 slaying always and forever
It's always the little details that end up engaging the player even tho they're subtle and mostly not consciously observed, but it is unconsciously
I love the sims and love to see the side by side comparison but there was something about the sims 2 with all the details. Not only does it spin but it even looks frozen going in and thawed coming out❤
Edit: corrected grammar mistake
Lol thawed, not "unthawed". Un thawed would mean frozen technically 😅 just like "dethawed" wouldn't mean the same as thawed
Why is the flies buzzing sound for Sims 1 giving me nostalgia 😂

The Bane of Sims 4 make it opaque

@@sabrinacalado7654 Making a plate of food spin in the microwave is one of the easiest and cheapest animations in the whole game lol
I appreciate the same timer beep across generations
Again, TS2 never disappoints. It's just the best Sims game❤
After seeing the Sims 2 one spinning, I just KNEW Sims 4 would be completely covered. 🤦🏼♀️😂
Sims 2 by far! Only downside is that the microwave doesn't have the turntable plate that Sims 1 had, Sims 4 brought it back but the animations of the microwave were so bad. Plus the teleporting plate thing... Why does Sims 4 teleport everything while the earlier games have them placing it smoothly and with minimal teleporting?
I don't really have anything to say about Sims 3 other than how it's just a 3d version of Sims 1's animation.
Sims 2 > 3 > 1 > 4
You forgot the part in Sims 2 where you blink and the microwave is on fire.
They’ve gotten progressively lazier 😂
Or they got mor deadlines and pressure to get results.. the real world is wild
It's like all the collective strength of the entire company throughout all of its lifetime went into the silly little details in sims 2 and now there's just nothing left
I dont even wanna hear my own microwave beep
I adore these videos! It's the little things! 💖 I am pretty TS2 biased but obviously with time, the pixels get better and smoother. I just don't like the faces in TS3
not sims 3 having that 2010's modern microwave that didn't have the spinning plate in the middle
And once again, Sims 2 demonstrates superiority
Even the microwave is a rabbit hole in Sims 4 💀
Sims 4 can kiss my ass 😭 so little detail and they barely speak actual simlish just weird random moans 😭😭😭😭 it HURTS! Im depressed.
sims one is perfectly depicts what i do while waiting for microwave
Sims 2 was the best. Surprised they didn’t make it rotate in Sims 3
It's not so surprising if you think that in sims 3 there are many things happening in the open world at the same time, so saving in small animations helped for the game to run. And still many people can't run sims 3 without crashing, freezing or going very low for them.
eh, i'm not bothered by the lack of rotation. not all microwaves have a rotating plate - mine doesn't, actually!
You just know Sims in TS3 and TS4 are dealing with weird cold spots in every microwaveable meal
Can we all just quit with this "oh this was better" or "this game is the best" war? Please can we all just appreciate each game's own charm??
Except for you sims 4, you lack charm...
Sims 1: "I love my pixel food!" Sims 2: "Such good food made with love." Sims 3: "It is fun to watch it get warmed up..." Sims 4: "OK I CAN'T EVEN SEE MY FOOD WHAT IS THE POINT OF THIS ALL I QUIT!"
Sims 1 I expected her to go 'eeeeyuccckkkk' when she got it out the microwave. ...those who know, know
Sims 3 is a real open world game. This feature alone put him on top imho
I was 17 when the sims first came out and I was hooked since. Now I'm 40 and I still ay the sims, though I'm not able to play the sims original or 2 or 3. I'm stuck at 4 but I still enjoy it wih all its flaws and bugs etc.
Anyway this was nostalgic, and not gonna lie the sims 2 and 3 microwave dinner always looked good, except for the peas 😂 anyway happy simming!
It's 2000 and you're looking at your tv dinner like an alien
Whoa! The whole video is a gem
The constant fly buzzing around sound in the original sims makes me wanna pull my hair out
It's really funny that it gets less animated over time
In The Sims 4 the food is always cold, even if we buy the most expensive microwave😢
yeah its the worst...
Sims 4: you have to pay to watch the food in the microwave
The sims 2 food spins
this bring me back to those days of building beautiful houses again & again
Sims 2 the best!
it's like you can see the love leeching out of the game with each iteration
The level of detail that The Sims 2 has has not been achieved by any other

It was a magical period in gaming history where devs were eager to show their prowess and do the whole "simulating life in the computer" thing as opposed to optimizing production costs and following rigid feature sets.

The Sims 2 -“This will be the best sequel in the entire gaming industry”;
