Railfanning Around Pueblo, CO 2023

Enjoy this casual railfanning video of trains shot across several different locations both in and around the city of Pueblo, Colorado-all recorded on a single day! We begin at Pueblo Junction, where we catch a local job coming in to town after making a routine run to the Steel Mill. We follow the train around to just North of Pueblo Union Depot, where the local enters the BNSF side of Pueblo yard.
From there, we return to the junction to find a Northbound empty coal drag coming in off the Walsenburg Subdivision and entering the famed BNSF/UP Colorado Joint Line. We jump ahead to Bragdon to watch the train begin it's prairie run North to Colorado Springs and eventually, Denver.
The lights of another Southbound could be seen from the crossovers at Bragdon, so I decided to jump down to the Northern entrance of Pueblo for a rare shot. At the time of this recording, BNSF's bridge across I-25 had yet to be repaired from the nasty derailment that claimed the site earlier in the year. As a result, all North and Southbound trains had to share the UP mainline into town. In this shot, you'll get the rare view of a loaded BNSF coal drag dropping into Pueblo utilizing UP trackage. We're then back to the junction to watch this train continue South. It will continue to Pueblo's Commanche power plant for unloading.
At this point, I figured I had gathered all the trains that I would see in the area, so I elected to go for an afternoon drive East along the Pueblo Sub and CXR Towner Line. As luck would have it, I would end up scoring 3 more (Timetable) Southbound trains traveling across the Pueblo Sub to La Junta!
