I graduated barber school 3 months ago. You kept me grinding through my year of barber school. Some days it was torture but tbh you kept me in it as a new barber learning to cut. Appreciate you! Keep pushing the young men to pursue their goals. I stayed because you helped me. I’m making 70-80k this year cuz of you . I can provide for a family because of you and Gods grace in my life. Thanks Bossio.
Bro, im in barber school now, working nights delivering pizza full time and school full time in the day. i got 4 months left. it's so hard, man. I dont wanna give up, but being broke all the time sucks when i have 2 kids a wife, and im the only money maker. I feel like nobody understands, man, so im so glad to have a place i can vent and people relate. I hope this pays off bro its my dream. I just payed 2k cash in for overtime hours plus debt. Now i dont even get an income tax, bro. I stick in it for my kids to show them, plus my sister passed away this year, and shes what inspired me. Any advice im hear to listens bro. Much love.
Listening to your story again hit me pretty hard. Sitting in the parking lot before i go into work and the things you said really resonated with me. The struggles, emotions, all of it. I've been in a really bad spot mentally for tge last few years and spiraled earlier this year to attempting suicide. My barber kept pushing me to cut hair because he saw I had such a big interest in it and i remember the first time i cut my friend was so discouraging. I got chopped up by like 6 of my homies, so bad i didnt touch clippers for three months. Watching so many tutorials improving the technique in my mind i finally did it again and every couple of weeks my boi let me cut his hair no matter if it was alright or bad. I could see the improvement and i remember just doing it was so therapeutic. It felt finally like i had something i could do where i was in control. Im still learning and I'm really grateful to my barber and all these badass barbers on youtube trying to help the people out. Cutting hair saved my life, and even though I'm still battling my demons, I've found an outlet to help me keep fighting. I'm not giving up. Thank you so much TL;DR: Cutting hair has been a huge help in dealing with my emotions and issues with life. Very grateful for everything the youtube community has taught me and I'm looking forward to getting my license and making this my career.
I just started at Supercuts and I go to work have anxiety and still get through the day and come home and still practice on my doll heads just so I can feel like I’m doing a decent cut ! I appreciate this video so much is give me MO
Dang I felt that, I remember I cried when I got my L’s…tears of job but crazy like my life was gonna change and a year in the old owners I worked for gave me their shop. Took on a partner and out of the pandemic he got a divorce and came back a different person, I walked leaving him everything (being the president of the company and walking away from it) but I believe in the Bible and it hits home when it says the Lord gives and takes away and in my case gives it back but I believe it’s because of my faithfulness to Him and through obedience I got it back. Four months after I left it closed down. I am starting from scratch again but Lord wiling it gets super busy again. We all walk in no appointments, barbers have schedule and their clients come in at the time the we are here. We have a concept that works and we flow with it. Appreciate your content bro 🙏🏼 Happy new year and God bless!
22 year old with a 2 year old daughter.. I just started barber school yesterday man while also working a full time and you have been an inspiration to me and you are what made me even get into all of this. love bro
Im 3 weeks into barber school , school 9am-2:30pm and then working 4pm-12am Mon-Fri. the grind is real and really messing w my mental health , reguardless im hungry, 11 more months to go let’s get it!
Everything you’ve mentioned i’m going thru rn, it’s hella tough but i know it’s Gods plan.. things happen on his time. ur a Great man, Great video. i’m here for more! thank you.
you should do a beginner barber series where you teach basic barber skills for example “clipper over comb” that will attract loads of beginner barbers and it’ll be massive help to everyone
I'm in school right now brotha, and have to give you part of the credit for why I joined. I became obsessed with watching your videos and I thought "If I'm spending my weekends and free time watching hair cutting videos, There must be interest there" So i decided to take the leap and a few weeks later I was in barber school. Best decision I ever made. Not only because I found a love for cutting, but also the connections and friends I've made along the way. I was working a dead end job, but now i have a career path that is 100x fulfilling and rewarding. I have about 900 hours right now ( I need 1500 in illinois) but Im staying consistent and I'm going to finish soon. Thanks bro. And anyone on the fence for barber school, Just do it
I’m exactly in this stage have two more months to finish school this is all I have but the money haven’t came yet cuz I’m spending all my time in school and quit my job to go to school and using all my savings to make it but I’m so freaking happy cutting and finally doing something tht I feel is mine so thanks for tht brother!!!

13:00 exactly what i’m doing rn,i have barber school in about 9 or 10 hrs and it’s currently 1:20 am watching videos on how to be a better barber, thanks for uploading and sharing ur progress it helps us a lot 🤝
I feel this on every level! I am right now working as full time hairstylist, but my focus is hair cutting. I love cutting hair, mens, womens and even kids! I don’t settle for b.s. from my coworkers or from the clients. My speed improved and a lot of the clients I have gained, all say the same thing when I cut their hair: “I’m meticulous, patient, and slight perfectionist” I almost integrate my clients (kindly) what they want, how they style their hair, are they high or low maintenance. I take my work seriously, and value what I give to my clients. I’m only three years in the hair business, and it’s not at all the road I would see myself doing when I was younger. It’s just opened my eyes even more to the world and what I’m capable of. Love your videos! Keep up the amazing work!!
I'm super thankful because this is one of the videos that motivated me to start barber school last year. Today is November 30, 2022 and I graduated Barber school back in July, a year after watching the video, working at a shop now and I'm all in. On my 6FB journey now. Thank you.
Sooo spot on with what your saying. I'm going to barber school and its just like that. I was about to quit but I meditated on it and talk to some close friends and family on what was going on and ultimately I decided to just keep at it and get my degree .
Bro you sound so passionate when you tell your story which is inspiring because me and my family have gone through some of the things you have gone through and you just sound so genuine. We have over come some these adversities you have been through and I have gotten inspiration from other barbers and especially you, to become a barber and I just want to tell you to keep doing what you are doing because It definitely inspires and motivates.
Bro I love hearing this story because it's so relatable, I'm only a couple months away from graduating now and it's been fucking HARD. I went homeless right before I entered because I lost my home in the beginning of covid and had no idea what to do, I figured being broke and homeless anyways I might as well jump all in because I'm either going to sink or float anyways so I might as well give it my all. I still work half the week and go to school half of the week. my bills are drowning me but I've been able to hold onto my car so far which at least gets me to school and work, when I'm cutting hair it's about the only time I feel happy or like I have a chance in life. Content like this keeps me going though. It's nice to know other people have the same struggles and can get out of it, thanks bossio..
Bro I’m in school rn and I needed this dawg fr. Definitely lookin forward to more content on school cuz I feel the same way, I should be getting more out of my school than what I get, but when I speak up, I get shut down. Just waitin for these few months to pass.
Needed this!!! You said it took you two years… I’m slowly coming along and sometimes I get discouraged cause I’m single parenting and my time is so divided!!!!
I been fallowing you since 2016 and you’re one of the reasons why I got even more excited that I chose to go to barber school. I didn’t get to join right away for financial reasons but I finally did in 2019. I literally just finished school and waiting to retest (failed my first test) but can’t wait to retest and crush that 💩! Anyway bro long story long, I still watch your videos but I agree that your main audience will always be new barbers/student’s. It might get repetitive like you said but if you want your channel to keep growing that’s what you will have to do. But anyway thanks for all that you do. You’re a true inspiration of what the Barber game can provide when you decide to work hard and treat barbering for what it is, a real career!
You going back to the basics is a blessing to me cause i plan on enrolling in my barber school this fall and this will just help me learn more stuff that would be very helpful to me since i’m a starting barber
Im headed to barber school this December, ive been cutting since freshman year and im 18 now, so im happy with the advantage I’ll have knowing as much as i do already, your vids really helped me out a lot especially with doing scissor work💯
Big respect bro! I was in barber school last year and there was one kid in our class who had that same skill set and experience like you do. It ended up setting him back, he started skipping classes and refusing cuts at the school because he thought he had nothing more to learn. Keep learning bro, best to stay modest even though you’ll be better than your class mates. Always something they can teach you, go in with that open mind and you’ll come out even better🔥🔥🔥 He works at super clips now, and everyone else from the school is in local barbershops⚡️⚡️
Wow bro your story really hits home. Im about to finish barber school at the end of this month and its been a struggle financially to say the least but i know the light is at the end of the tunnel and i know nothing worth while comes without sacrifice. So thank you for always motivating and putting out real content brother ... stay blessed 💯
Any time I need some inspiration and push to keep grinding, your videos do it for me Bossio. I’m in Barber school right now and it’s very relatable to what you spoke on but I know if I keep that focus and grind mentality the sky is the limit. Thanks a lot man even before I knew I wanted to be a Barber I watched your videos and they always lit a fire in me. You’re much appreciated and keep doing what you do!
I start barber school hopefully in the next 2 months. Like anybody I got on RUclips and tried to get a head start. Along the way I found your videos… and like others I feel blessed to have all this knowledge coming into the industry. Above all you have motivated and inspired me to already want to be a better version of myself! Thank you for what you do! I’ll be following you throughout my journey! Hopefully you come to Texas soon!
Its 4 am im watching videos and im about to take a nap get on the bus take another nap and be at the shop! This week is special though because im 4 months into my apprenticeship and i have the green light to start marketing for clients! Im going to meet with a bowling ally to see about getting free game coupons for first time clients!
Man I graduate barber school tomorrow and I can't wait to get my state boards done and get into a shop. It was a rough road for sure. Got kicked out because of attendance and got back in and now it's almost over. Your videos have always been great encouragement and taught me tons of stuff about cutting hair. Appreciate you homie!
Facts 6 hours everyday for 2 years during high school I watched RUclips 😭 junior and senior year. Now I deadass have bars , it was worth it . Still watching videos till this day
Hi brother Chris thanks for this video going to show it to my class tomorrow to up lift and and motivate them to make the best in there learning experience this is my first Barber school class and have a few Dysfunctional students but the profession has been good to me full and part time 37 years it is a blessing to give back hope we meet again soon stay up young man.
Yo! I know this ain't even the place to talk about this, but man! I felt this! especially the beginning like I got my wife, 4 kids she hasn't worked in 6 years because she already knows I'll do all I can to make sure we're good, I remember putting barbering aside an having to sell all of my clippers just to make rent. I almost gave up because when I got them I put all I had into them at the time, and just this year we caught a break.. like a big break! an I was able to get more clippers an actually pay to finally start barbering school. People please appreciate this his truth he's telling because mannnn... I feel like to even catch a break and to have this opportunity to finally be able to do this I don't wanna let my wife down, my kids down or god down for blessing me with this break.. Dope story! Thank you!
@@evelynponce9440 ppl want to enjoy the ( experience ) rather than feeling like their haircut was rushed. Ppl want to feel welcomed and comfortable while in the chair rather than feeling like a stranger with no real dialogue/connection between them and the barber.
Exactly. Getting a haircut is already time consuming and almost an inconvenience ( for most men). So really gotta be able to put yourself in your clients shoes and treat others the way you would want to be treated.
Thanks for the Helpful tips! These are always my favorite videos. I'm currently in barber school and I feel like I'm at a stand still, Dragging it A long when I know I should be putting in more effort. I'm constantly watching videos to help me build, learn the craft better and be efficient. I've been following you since I started my journey and nothing but knowledge and helpful ways in the industry. Excited to see you at the SL Beauty and Barber Expo next month!
Great video man. I also remember the feeling of finally finishing barber school and getting the license. It was the best feeling for me after getting out of the Army. I’m Barber Instructor now and trying to keep students motivated, right now I’m in a weird position but soon I’ll be back in person. Keep doing what you’re doing man. Respect 💈💯
None of your videos it’s a waste of time for me bro. I’m about to take my state exam and you just motivate me even more thanks man for sharing all your videos. God bless you and your family
Day 1s still here, still hopin eventually i can make a livin barbering. Can relate to all this, not bein able to provide will break yuh dwn but its encouraging to hear youve gon tru it as well and got to were yuh at. I think goin back to basics will get yuh to 500k in no time!
Ima day one subscriber and I’m finally going to go to barber college after 5 years of contemplating about it. Thank God Almighty, would really appreciate some more of this type of content.
Bro the same way you’re describing barber school for yourself is the same bs I’m dealing with right now. Making bs money so I can survive in transitional living. Just out here FIGHTING to make it. 😂 But I’m starting to fall in love with this profession.. this truly makes me think all of this work I’m putting in is gonna be worth it. Thank you for sharing your story man..this motivates me a lot..
im 18 and working at my first barbershop and i can’t lie im struggling and today was one of those off days for a barber and it definitely brought my confidence down for the day but i’m still learning and i know it’s gonna get better but man it’s not easy
I am in the same boat bro but I feel like you talk to your clients and make them feel comfortable you feel comfortable and the haircut comes out badasss . If your young at 18 sometimes people’s egos will get in the way from letting you do a good job . Just my personal opinion! All I can say bro is we got this and we can grow 💪🏻💈

I loved the video honestly. I’m about to enroll in barber school this fall but I haven’t got to cut actual heads in some time because of covid and it was a bit off putting about my passion for cutting. I love where you want to head with the chanel because I feel like if I learn the basics, what to study for specifically, how to prepare, from one of the GOAT’s then i’ll be more prepared/ motivated. I can handle my own with a pair of clippers any day. We love what you are doing Chris and I want to say thank you for all the gems and knowledge you’ve given not just to me, but anybody else out there like me. Keep up the great work I’ll be here every video like always ❤️
Big bossio!!! You also gotta remember Covid had everybody in the house watching all types of shit. Your videos always been banging to me, but you know what I mean. We all was just in the house watching haircut videos, self cut videos. We went without cuts for months so something had to be done lmao. You good big homie, keep grindin 💪🏾🤟🏽

Your channel motivates me to start barber school so much I’m gonna call the school near me tomorrow! Thanks a lot
This hit differently bro, im going through all this at the minute, This content is so relatable Chris.
Thanks for shining some light my man 👑
Shout out Chris Bossio and Everyone. Never Quit ‼️
Video starts 5:36
Man I graduate barber school tomorrow and I can't wait to get my state boards done and get into a shop. It was a rough road for sure. Got kicked out because of attendance and got back in and now it's almost over. Your videos have always been great encouragement and taught me tons of stuff about cutting hair. Appreciate you homie!
Boss man it’s my 1st year cutting hair i will be back here again to update myself. Preparation before luck. Hard work not motivation.
Thanks Chris Bossio for the encouragement just got in Barber school
I’m in barber school now and I come back to this video to really remember why I’m doing this 💪🏽💈
Facts 6 hours everyday for 2 years during high school I watched RUclips 😭 junior and senior year.
Man! I'm always locked in on tutorials been a licensed barber for 2 weeks now starting in a shop this week I got to make it happen for my family
Dope story! Thank you!
I’ve seen mediocre barbers take other barber’s clients because of great customer service. A lot of barbers around here don’t respect people’s time.
Most customers will take a 7/10 cut with a friendly barber than a 10/10 haircut w an asshole
@@sakurosozac6605 can you explain each one bro?! Please
@@sakurosozac6605 1000% it's almost a jedi mind trick, since they had such a great time getting the cut they don't realize it's mediocre.
Love love love this content! Thanks for the extra push man and reminding me why I got started with school in the first place!
I’ve only did 1 fade about 10 years ago ! I’m enrolling in barber school at 25 ! Hope it comes naturally !
Respect 💈💯
Definitely motivating and inspiring to hear your story. Big idol to many barbers in the barber industry
None of your videos it’s a waste of time for me bro. I’m about to take my state exam and you just motivate me even more thanks man for sharing all your videos. God bless you and your family

Ima day one subscriber and I’m finally going to go to barber college after 5 years of contemplating about it. Thank God Almighty, would really appreciate some more of this type of content.
Watching from Belize.....love watching your videos
I watch more barber tutorials than I watch any media entertainment. just luv it free insights, free knowledge, and it makes me better at cutting.
@@jfadezz1699 i agree with you i work in a barbershop and the people there are always helping me they’re a real one but i feel like sometimes it’s a lot of pressure on me but i know throughout time it’ll get easier
@@matthewsdeoliveira7902 just remember that building a skill like barbering is a marathon not a sprint! Embrace the hard awkward beginning and master your craft over time. Just speak with your clients make a connection and they’ll grow with you in the chair. Good luck 💈🍀
@@TheJeffrey75 thank you man thanks for the advice can’t wait to go through this journey in barbering
@@matthewsdeoliveira7902 I’m the same bro,I’m 17 working at a shop and it kills my mood sometimes when I know I can do a lot better but I don’t show it, I appreciate my coworkers who are better than me giving me tips and I don’t look at it as a bad way, I enjoy them judging my work to improve
Hella inspirational bro, you're the reason im a barber now. I cant wait to meet you in person man. You foreal changed my life man
THANK U FOR SHOUTTIN OUT TO THE FEMALE BARBERS!!!
This is a really inspiring video man! What a great story. From humble beginnings to humble success, it's so great to see that your mindset didn't change throughout those challenges bro. Keep doing what you do man; you're an inspiration to a lot of us beginner barbers out here! 🙏🇵🇭
Man I been here sense before the shave gel. I honestly enjoy the business and financial classes the most but much success with whatever direction you choose 💯

I needed this! Im taking state board in a couple months and the struggle is REAL! I appreciate the perspective. Not much different from mine.
Currently going through barber school now and this makes me want to keep pushing cuz it’s definitely isn’t easy but hearing this gave me hope
I'm in my my first week of barber school. Keep this content coming!
Def come with more heat of staying in school and just grinding it out 💪🏾 Do the time , don’t let the time do you
Big bossio!!!
I did Keep that in mind I’m not talking about just the past year tho. I’m talking about the historical s on my channel as well the last couple months have been worst performing in 4 years
Crazy…. We got the same background. You a Gm of an Arby’s. I was I. The training department of In N Out Burger which is one of the biggest reasons I have such great customer service
Whomever didn’t like this video 🗣YA’LL NEED TO GO! I just graduated cosmetology school and I’m working at a Supercuts and struggling. Thanks this the push I needed. New subscriber.
I didn’t do well at SuperCuts either, any update? 😊
Bro I was in co springs Paul Mitchell school and it was so terrible, I ended up transferring. Thanks for the video good come up
