Saw this musicale last Feb. One of the best at West End! Perfection is an understatement! The cast definitely gave justice to every lyrics of the songs! Thank you for the gift of music, London cast! ;)
I think that people who criticise this are missing the point-of course it won't have the raw passion of the film,but it's a bloody good interpretation.They could never do as good a vocal performance as the Swell Season,so the improvised.i think they did a good job for the stage.
It's technically very good but it lacks the raw realism of the original. I don't truly believe that guy lives on the breadline and has to sing for survival like I did with the film.
No one could replicate Glen’s raw emotion but this was a nice version.
