Aaah man this song slaps. Everything. His vocals, Jon's screams, the riffs are soooo good, and the drumming as well. Just fantastic. Its up there with Perennial Philosophy imo, I love them both equally. My cousin tried to get me on them a couple years ago but I didn't really feel it, but Perennial Philosophy was amazing and totally sold me. I'm so excited for this album drop on Friday.
@@ericsites2233 absolutely agree. This isnt what I was expecting from Eidola and it by far isn't my fav album but goddamn does it flow and just give you waves of emotion
Freeze frame cos youtube thinks it's cool.... Err Airplane Peanuts? Ok I see myself out😅 I actually prefer the proggy Eidola to this. Not that it's bad at all it just felt less original to me... But I def feel this Song it's very good! Just like the more proggy stuff a bit more
Freeze frame don’t matter! this song/video deserves all the attention from you and the rest of the reaction community! My favorite part was “ I don’t have cons” !!
Did I ever mention the main vocalist is a touring guitarist for DGD?! hahaha jk.. But yeah, in my book, this band can do no wrong. They represent absolutely everything I love from post-hardcore.
That's exactly right. I feel like it's pretty slept on. I found myself thinking that it was what Emarosa could have become if Johnny would have stuck with the band instead of the drugs. Their Relativity and Self Titled albums were fantastic.
I’m glad this song is more chaotic and I couldn’t really follow the structure, also this is a sound we’ve never really heard from them, it’s heavy but in a different way than their other stuff. Lots of dissonance. Also fun fact that I just found in the comment section of the video, apparently Jon mess freestyled his lyrics and didn’t write them down then proceeded to forget what he said. When they were writing the lyrics out they couldn’t decipher his lines which is why his parts of the lyrics aren’t listed in the description.
Right? I thought the first ones were kind of forgettable, and I was so disappointed because I have super high expectations for this band. This song is so good though, so well composed.
It's interesting that you prefer this to the older, proggier Eidola. Degeneraterra, for me, will probably never be topped. The singles are good, but don't really stand out to me. I'm hoping for more tracks that take you on that journey on this album. Songs like The Comfort We Find in Our Vices, To Know What's Real, Divide, Contra, etc. just stand out as such masterpieces to me. They really reward the listener for listening multiple times.
I came here to comment this.. i still love dgd and tilian has his moments where i think he’s so great, but let’s be honest dgd fronted by wells would be the best... but it’ll never happen and Andrew even said it himself.
Uhhh, no. I wouldn’t usually comment and tell someone their opinion is wrong, but this is so wrong it hurts. Andrew Wells is beautiful with DGD because he only does features. The songs he comes in on, the parts he sings, they’re so damn good BECAUSE he is not a constant member. And he’s a fantastic singer, but Tilian has a uniqueness to his voice, so you hear it and there’s no mistaking that it’s him. Same with the musical style of DGD. Y’all wouldn’t have a problem putting someone in his place that sort of glands that out(no disrespect to Mr Wells, beautiful voice, but definitely not the most unique)? Tilian fits with everything that is DGD.
Ridiculously good in every way. Everyone in the band is on equal footing, talent wise. The singer doesn’t look like his voice would be so pretty though…he’s a bear.
Idk, it’s a good song but probably won’t make it on my playlist. You gotta check out Black Ice by Paledust, it’s…. Wild. You are definitely not prepared for it haha
Everytime I listen to eidola I hear a fake ass wanna be dance gavin dance. This song has Jon mess and is their most distinctive sounding song imo. This is a really good song and I'm VERY excited for their new release
I guess I understand your statement, but I’m not mad about it. Takes me back to downtown battle mountain. Lead vocalist plays for dgd so I get the swan core vibe. give the album a listen my dude.

I’m convinced eidola has perfected swancore
Created by dgd perfected by eidola. I've recently started making the comparison that they're kinda like dgd's little brother
@@bradhuff5131 yea I just think their song writing and technical parts are better than dgd. Dgd has been kinda wash rinse repeat the last few albums
@@ericsites2233 absolutely agree. This isnt what I was expecting from Eidola and it by far isn't my fav album but goddamn does it flow and just give you waves of emotion
@@Ephesians6.11 yea I agree for sure
They are perfect Swancore.
RUclips is glitching out and won’t let creators upload their thumbnails. So enjoy that high quality freeze frame for now :)

This song structure makes me instantly think of Hail the Sun's song structures. Nice stuff.
that low scream by Jon god damn. Reminds me his side project Secret Band

He’s officially IN DGD now.
@@Tyler_Pifer92and he's a vocalist too now!
@@brysonxdand he's now the lead clean vocalist until they find a replacement for tilian!
About time! We need more reactions for this band! Really good quality music!
First time hearing these guys. Honestly what I wished DGD actually sounded like. Thanks for the introduction
@Mr. Poopy Butthole also they're literally swancore, a genre that was invented FOR dgd
Love old dgd with jonny and Travis. I’m my opinion tilian doesn’t do it for me
@@lizardgreen2121 Jonny was the king.
@@agni.3682 100%
@@lizardgreen2121 did you ever listened to "The Robot With Human Hair pt 2 1/2"? Jonny kills every line.
My favorite of the four singles! Glad this band has been pushed on the discord so much they are fantastic, and a great new find for me this year!
The Architect is one of the very few albums that has managed to blow my mind. Front to back, I've enjoyed it thoroughly!

Great review my man. Very thoughtful and detailed. Good stuff.
reminded me of wires and the concepts of breathing era of A Skylit Drive, very awesome track.
Post-Hardcore Veil of Maya, and I’m here for it.

By far my favorite single by them so far
Right?

Alternative Progressive music has never been better! So in love 💕 I literally wake up with their songs in my head!
Absolutely spot on review. Especially all of the cons you mentioned.

If anyone wanted a proof of concept of if Andrew Wells could ever replace Tilian, and be better than Jonny Craig, for DgD, this is it.
I came here to comment this.. i still love dgd and tilian has his moments where i think he’s so great, but let’s be honest dgd fronted by wells would be the best... but it’ll never happen and Andrew even said it himself.
He's taking over while tilian is out with covid. Started out in Kansas City, it was fuckin awesome. I have some videos posted.
@@fistermantast1c hopefully I’ll see him Wednesday fronting the band when they play Columbus🤘🏽
If Andrew joined dgd as the main vocalist he would honestly knock all 3 precious out of the water. Sorry Kurt

love this song
Dude's voice reminds me of Johnny Craig
yes!
Honestly this dude is perfect for dgd. Maybe because I like his lower tone. R&b feels, similar to Jonny
dude, every band you mentioned in your music you grew up on. My life haha
Sounds like a heavier Miss Fortune. Definitely need to check out more from them.
Maybe a stupid question but Was Jon mess doing those lower growls as well?
Love this band just saw them last week in Chicago with Royal Coda. Even got to finally meet Will Swan 🦢
Emarosa vibes as well
I love this song so much
Man, pls watch the newest song by Don Broco - Uber. Such a banger and speakiong about structure is quite interesting
This whole album is fucking amazing. The end of forgotten tongues is NASTY

Hot take... Saosin (with Anthony Green) invented Swancore. Fight me!
