The Year of the Horse has clear wings and horn because it's not really a horse unless it has no horn and wings. I didn't realize the significance until someone pointed out it was a clever design.

The year of the dog is a Shiba Inu. They look a little like a fox. And the cherry blossom is probably on the figure because the Shiba is a Japanese breed.
