    Tina I L.O.V.E. this idea of yours for SIMPLE & QUICK Weekly Workshops for mass making for junk journals!! Genius really!! Keep going w this !! It's just exactly what so many of us newer junk journalists NEED!! And let's face it: many of us do not have lots of extra hours to sit and watch endless hrs of ramblings & instructions.... These are inspiring, encouraging, and just awesome--that's IT!! Thank you!!

    I was hoping to see how you use these flip outs. I haven't figured out how to use them but made some while watching the 2 nd time. Wonderful.

      I will do some process videos showing how to use some of the things we’ve made during the mass making workshops. In the meantime, you can just use them as tuck spots and pockets or just tuck them in with a paperclip for extra journaling space. Glad that you managed to get some made though x

    I love this idea! I made six of them along with you. Already I have used one. It was so nice having it already made. I like the idea of stamping them immediately so the background is at the ready. Brilliant. Thank you for sharing! 🙂

    I truly enjoy how you construct your projects with such ease. I cut with precision, spend too much time analyzing my layouts, stitch with even tension, embellish with detail, am so careful to evenly distress my edges. I HAVE issues and would to just like to ”let myself go.” Thank you for ALL your inspiration and sharing with such ease and comfort.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  4 года назад

      I wish I could be more precise but I just struggle with anything that needs to be exact. I used to get really upset and frustrated but through junk journals I have managed to accept my flaws and just roll with them. I think its why junk journals are so fun for everyone, because you can just adapt them to your style x

    Tina, you are doing great! Again, don’t worry about them being dull. I worked along with you and very much enjoyed you sharing bits of your life and adventures with us. I just wanted to mention a couple of things that I did. I deckaled the edges on one (tearing the paper) and then on several I used various decorative scissors to cut with. Not only do I have a variety of paper but also of the edges.

    I remember when movies took years....YEARS....to be shown on TV. And then the wait to see it on video, like you said. Now, it's almost instantly televised. I look forward to seeing that movie! My son taught us how to use You Tube for learning, taught his old folks new tricks.

      Absolutely Lauretta, it makes you wonder what we did before doesn’t it? I sometimes try to convey to the kids what it was like when we were young and wanting the answer to something, I just don’t think any of us can imagine it being that way again. Everything is so instant and accessible, we are all very lucky in so many ways. Like you I hardly ever actually watch a regular channel on the TV, and certainly not at the time it was shown rather than on catchup. Plus as you say, all the friends that we can make from all over the world, it’s amazing isn’t it? X

    Goodness me, I had fun with these. I printed out two scans of collages I had made (following your video!) onto cardstock and set to work. As an added detail, in addition to rounding the corners, I dug out my old decorative scissors and scalloped the outside flaps. I've had the same corner rounder for at least 15 years... When it gets dull I take a piece of tin foil and fold it then cut the folded end with the corner rounder.... keep folding and cutting over and over again. The tin foil sharpens the edge over and over again. Sometimes it needs more sharpening because I widdle it down to nothing. I use this method for my guillotine paper cutter also. Hope this helps you save a few dollars. Enjoying our time together, Michele

    I'm the same way with making things ahead of time and then not using them. I have started to do it a little different. I will make the same basic beginning. For example I'll use a box and cut it up then collage a background onto the front and back and just leave them like that. I usually do these when I don't feel very creative or feel like thinking about what I'm doing. Then when I'm ready to make a journal I will use matching papers, napkins words, etc to add to the pre-made base. I find this takes to be more time efficient and yet I can still coordinate the little details of the pieces.

    • @shabbydabbydoodah
      @shabbydabbydoodah  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, it’s funny isn’t it, despite having some ready made pieces, still making things from scratch. Like you, I am hoping that leaving them undecorated will make them better for using x

    good video especially for those that are starting out. it's a bit like sewing with a piece of material that the pattern can only go one way. I know from a girl that wanted me to make a dress for her. she did the cutting and because she didn't know, the print was upside down so in that respect this was a good tip. I just enjoyed watching like always.hugs,Shirley Harrington

    Hi Tina, repeating is boring but it's a must when building your stash, the exciting part is decorating them, l,m learning about creating journals, l,ve looked at your digi kits and they're gorgeous, l,m not a technical person and never purchased this type of kit, something I will look into, that film you mentioned l have seen the ads for it, l,m going to wait and see if it comes out on Netflix, nowtv or amazon prime, looking forward to seeing your other build your stash series, tfs lovely lady huge hugs x Julie

      Thank you Julie. Yes it is boring, and I just want to get to the decorating part, but as you say, it is a productive way to build our stash. Thank you, I am glad that you like me kits 😊. . Yes the film was a nice watch, left the cinema with a warm feeling x

    I am seeing differently now. Having a stash or rather making a stash can be very quick and easy. Later would be taking the pieces to add the elements to make it part of your project at that time. Yep this is good! Thank you! Hugs lady!

    Must try to make items in bulk ready to go! Every time I craft I have to pull out all my papers and this is exausting! Having things ready saves time and work. Thank you👍👍👍

    Great video series. It is such a good plan to make ahead in bulk but not totally decorate the pieces so that finishing touches can be added to fit the journal they will be used in. Thanks for this 😁

    I don't do everything in bulk but I am starting too, If the offcuts are ( big) suitable I make a matchbook note pads.

      @shabbydabbydoodah  5 лет назад

      Yes, I need to start doing this as just part of my regular process. I am doing matchbox books next week (if I remember rightly) x

    Great idea to make things in bulk.
    Punching a few sheets of aluminum foil a bunch of times (depending how dull the punch is) sharpens corner-rounders and other punches.

      Thank you, I have heard that tip, must try it on my corner punch x
