    So I'm debating on doing this fork conversion on my 2023 300xc and setting it up for old man moto 45+ class I'm a fast novice and a very slow intermediate as far as ability. I also run some GNCC style local races I'm looking for 70 moto 30 woods . The question is should I revalve the rear shock to match the moto style 6500 springs or can this be done with the clickers on the rear? I'll jump doubles small triples and love to land in the harsh spot of long table tops 😆 177lbs no gear. Any advice is much appreciated

      Ride JBI can setup the XACT 6500 for any riding type
      If you’d like we can build a setting that would work in sync with your stock rear shock setting.

    Looked like y’all ran forks up in the clamps. I like the first line atm. I’ve found a lot of comfort and pros to the new ktm but sometimes feel it can have a narrow window for setup. Another main thing I’ve felt is it standing me up on non aggressive cornering… corners great when I get into it, but have felt stood up when I need to slightly bend and turn. Didn’t seem to help with forks raised to second line.

      Thanks for tuning and watching. Fork settings can certainly influence the handling / steering of the front wheel. When it comes to chassis setup, fork height in the triple clamps is another tunable element. It is not an absolute spec……by that I mean it’s not accurate to say this fork height is the best setting. The best fork height setting is going to vary per rider, conditions and setup. What is important is staying with a certain tuning parameter.

    Is there a difference between the 6500 Xact Pro and Xplorer Pro cartridges? Can you put either one in an AER fork?

      Yes, there is a difference between the XACT 6500 and the Xplor 6500. The XACT is setup for moto out of the box where as the Xplor is setup for off-road. Also the fitment inside the fork lugs is different. With some mods either kit could be fitted to either fork but it would likely be easier and more cost effective to revalve the cart kit to the desired settings.

      @@RideJBI Ok thank you. I have a GasGas EC300 but I’m picking up an EX250F soon and trying to get my head around the differences. I checked the parts diagrams and apparently they also have different shocks and the EX comes with an “SX” dog bone. Kooky.

    Very interesting content, would also be interesting to know what Spring-rate was used (front and rear) between the forks... as in my experience on the CV-forks most guys tend to go .2 lighter...

      All the XACT Pro forks featured 4.8N fork springs. The CV forks featured 4.6N fork springs. The two GasGas models have 42N springs. The KTM features a 45N spring ad the rider is 10lbs heavier.

      Just to make sure I got this correct, ;) forks featured in this video:
      6500 JBI spec = 4.8N/mm
      6500 OEM = 4.8N/mm
      CV (Red Cone, 350 setting) = 4.6N/mm

      Yes. Those are the correct spring rates.
      Would need to verify what CV cone is in the forks.

      @@danielfick9333 The CVs are kit forks from WP. The rider worked at WP for many years. So yes they are a mix of components.
