Thanks for the memories. I grew up in the Quartraten, in F6. Checked out my neighborhood in 2016 and certainly found lots of changes and rebuilding done after the war.
I was in Mannheim some years ago and really liked the place. Like other heavily-bombed industrial cities in Germany it might not be, by European standards, the most beautiful. But still a very pleasant place to stroll around. And compared to the relentlessly hideous and chaotic cities of America that I am used to, Mannheim looks like Salzburg!

Yes, still happy with the DJI Pocket(s). I recently got the DJI Pocket 2. I must say the Osmo Pocket (1) seems to have better image quality while the Pocket 2 has a wider lens. I transition to the Pocket 2, have filmed the first few walks alread and start another channel probably soon with more editing using my other Pocket 1 cameras simultaneaously. Info will be coming here + it will be a featured channel. For the current price, the Osmo Pocket 1 is great value. Now there are deals for the Pocket 1 at around €170. I'm looking forward to the Pocket 3, hopefully with a 1'' sensor and real HDR. For now I can't wait for the release as travels should be possible soon. Overall it's great tech from DJI, just needs a powerbank and external mic...
FYI, in central Europe nobody really needs to beg as there is a wide social net. Often the beggars travel from countries like Romania for a while to make such money and are not really in a desperate situation. Especially in tourist places like Prague beggars are well organized and spread out at the most popular spots. There are several scams connected as you can find videos on RUclips. It's best not to support beggars though I avoid showing their faces in any case. Some Germans hunt for bottles in trashcans as they have a deposit of €0,25 which can add up. The only "begging" you get from locals is asking for some Euros from "alternative"/"punk" youth who mostly live without going to work. They often also keep large dogs as the government pays money for supporting a dog - so they live mostly by handouts. Such lifestyles are tolerated in Western Europe while they would't be possible in Singapore for example...

Die Infrastruktur ist verbesserungsbedürftig ,alles ist durch Graffitis verschandelt und irgendwie hat man das Gefühl ,das jeder macht was er will. Not as clean as I remember it, but that was a long, long time ago. Sad to see the graffiti everywhere, especially the Water Tower. I spent many a day there, hanging out. Overall, it still seems like a nice city.
