    It didn't take me long to subscribe for this one. I just thought, I'll try to find Sgt Preston on RUclips. This was the first episode I seen since growing up and running a business of my own. The end of a wonderful day. Tom Kipfer

    Oh well, hell . . . brings a tear to my eye. Used to watch this series really early Sunday mornings. I'd be downstairs in front of the old black 'n white with the theme song blaring. 5AM? Maybe. Thanks so much for posting!

    This episode was based on a true story about two brothers who fell out and divided the cabin in two and lived separately under the same roof. I think in truth they died of scurvy. The cabin was still there in the 1980's when I was there.

    Wow this brings back memories. I use to sit in the bed with my knee's up and use my mother's flat hair curlers and pretend they were dog sleds and I'd move them around and I'd say, " Sgt Preston of The Yukon". Seems like only yesterday - and a few scores. You get to a point in life where you never ask the question, "gee, I wonder where's he/she/they or it is at now". You'll get there too. Only one thing can stop you.

      a couple years before I was born. I saw one episode on some special "retro" program I think in the 80s. I was just thinking recently "was that actually in color?" There were very few color TVs at that because they were so expensive. I guess they had to start somewhere. Superman was also in color in the 50s

    16.10 A moment of subtlety? I don't think so. Overall an interesting programme, never seen it before. Thanks for sharing,

    Sub-zero temperatures and no one's breath ever shows ... and absolutely no wind during the close up scenes :)

    Sergeant Preston always said I arrest you in the name of the crown is because Canada was a colony of the British Commonwealth and was ruled by the Queen of England

    I remember watching this show when I was very young, late 50's .....was this show really broadcast in color or was this recently colorized?

    • @sheldonbrowncom
      @sheldonbrowncom 8 лет назад +1

      That is clearly real color. At the time of the broadcast there wasn't much color programming, but shows were shot on film, and it could be color film.

    Sorry, but King was not much of an actor. Every episode I have seen where he'd be attacking a bad guy, the bad guy actor has to hold him to his body, and King us looking up at his trainer. Nevertheless, fun to watch, haven't seen any of these episodes since I was 6 years old. Wind noise is constant, even though the trees aren't moving. Filmed in California. Today's reality Alaska shows far harsher conditions than these.

      Nothing like the joy of sitting 2 feet in front of the TV because it was a black & white, floor model console TV with a 9 inch screen. Who could have ever imagined today. Next thing you know they really will have invented the DickTracy wrist watch phone.

      Did you notice King went inside when Preston went in the cabin but when they closed the doors he was gone now thats acting. Plus he had everyone convinced he was a Husky instead of a Malamute he was a fine actor
