Seamless Versatile Sewin Install *better than micro links

- Here is a seamless versatile sewin install that’s I think is better than micro links! I call it a 5 part sewin because you can wear a side part, middle part, half up half down, and do a full ponytail! Think of the three part sewin but a step up! I also would relate it to the in between sewin which is my favorite! This sewin method allows for maximum versatility(same as micro link hair extensions) while having less maintenance(due to more of your hair being tucked away). After doing my hair one at for years I finally gave up micro links and do this instead! For me it’s a happy medium! If you are curious how to do a versatile sewin on natural hair yourself, check out this video showcasing how I do my own sewin at home:
If you are curious and still prefer micro link hair extensions, no needle no thread, check out one or both of these videos for a micro link tutorial: • Video

I do not post hair extensions videos much anymore, only if I do something new so I’m sorry if you are subscribed for such! Dang this makes so much sense. Less braiding. Less bundles. Less limitations on styles. Why haven’t more of us thought of this?! Lol
Try it out!
You took the words right out of my mouth! I had my first sew in at 16 and I've worn sew ins, glue in, pin ins, lace fronts LOL but THIS looks like it could really be the answer!!!
I been wearing this since 1999...honestly

Honest to god this was one of the best videos I have seen on a versatile sew in I literally felt like I was hanging out with my bestie waiting for my turn lol , great visual talk through and video in general !! Period girly
Thank you!
Newbie this is pure genius
I miss this level of creativity on RUclips! I think I’ll try this next!
Thank you! Yes I’ve tried many different ways and this is the best one I’ve come up with!
This is fantastic. I was the campus sew in queen back in 2012. Did everyone’s hair lol. I'm about to start back doing sew ins on my hair and so much has changed!
Yes bring it back! I also did my friends and family’s hair back in the day!
literally love my hair and this sewin is so versatile makes me not even want to go back to frontal installs !!! thank you !!!
It looked really good!
did it bring out your hair ?

I’m not a weave, sew in, lace front or wig wearing person. But I have to admit, this is absolutely beautiful. I like that it looks so natural. Great job.
Thank you for watching even though you don’t wear extensions 😊
I remember doing this before closures became so popular. I rather do this Im glad its coming back. It looks great😍
Me too! I never got into closures, they are good for some who maybe have a scarce hairline but if you have a good hairline versatile sewins are better
I got this done back in 2009... When I use to perm my hair. I had fine hair just like hers, so I loved that it added fullness and a little length.
The versatility is everything with this technique. Great job!
Yes! It literally just look like your hair grew longer and thicker!
Wow, her hair looks beautiful 😊❤
I love how natural it looks 🤌🏾
That’s the goal with every install 😊
Listen!!!!! The best video. My hairdresser did this for my graduation and it looked so natural, love it
Yes, it’s one of the best sew in methods hands down
Definitely agree with wigs saving natural hair! I’m going back to wigs just so I can grow my hair 🤍
They are a great tool for growing hair!
You brought the BOOM! So Versatility! An extremely natural grown from the root look. Yessss!
Just enough enhancement that speaks: Gorgeous 😍 Healthy Hair.
Hahah this comment made my day! Thank you!
It looks sooo natural OMG
I never stopped wearing sewins. Even when I bought halfwigs and lace closure. In fact I'd always sew in a wig behind my hairline. I like the finesse that make ppl wonder "Is that her hair?" coz no matter how much you "melt" ANY lace it's sooo obvious it's not your real hairline
Yes it is so obvious for me and I just prefer people not to be able to tell 🤣 but we are moving into an era where people just don’t care
It’s been a while since I’ve done a sew in, but I’m going to give this a try because wigs never worked for me lol and I want this level of versatility! Thank you! ❤️
Yes it’s so worth it and looks way more natural than wigs!
The Sew In is definitely giving 💖🥰🔥
Thanks Krystle🤍
Hi so I am a stylist from Jamaica 🇯🇲 WI . And really enjoyed your vedio, you method of installing perfect also your recommendations about the different methods like micro links etc I do agree with you. That being said I also in agreement and is very happy to see installation coming back because of those same reason you mentioned about most people hairline being damaged as a result, not to mention this wonderful🥳 opportunity to have more clients coming back to salons for services like these🙏 and mosts importantly getting their hair professionally done 😄😘. All the best to youand your business 👍👍💯👏👏
Thank you for watching Cinderine! I wish you the best in your business!
Pretty 😍. She looks like a doll..
You're right; this is better than microlinks.
Awe thanks 😬
Thank you so much for this!! I have short-medium 4c hair and would love to start rocking it without having to wait for it to grow longer. This is it! 😍😍😍
Yes try it! If you can get a raw curly hair, kinky straight, or kinky curly and no one will be able to tell you have extensions
Ashonthebundles or Vividae hair collection has good hair!
I love the fact that you took out all of that hair on the top part and I did not think it was going to bring down how we did and it really looks nice
Thank you!
This is so cool I remember doing something similar to your pattern in my hair as a teen years and years ago. Always came out so natural
Yes, bring back the inbetween sewin 🙌🏽
Love the video. I'm going to try this technique for my daughter's hair.
I hope it turns out good!
11:00 I agree I’m so ready to go back to sew in since my hair is long enough 🙌🏾 I’m done catfishing with these dang laces 😅
Omg I totally forgot you wore wigs! I do think you should give it a try! I think you’ll like it! Get raw hair from Vividae, she runs deals and the amount my sister spent on this hair was the same you can spend her raw hair. All you need is 2 bundles for this style
😯 This looks so natural and it makes sense!
MY FAVORITE SEW IN TUTORIAL TO THIS DATE DANG I WISH SHE COULD DO MY VERSATILE SEW IN 😩🥰💯
Your sis is gorgeous and has pretty hair just like you
Awe thank you ❤
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS!!!!
Girl!!! you are the best!! i prefer this method than others ones!! thank you for sharing
Of course! I hope it turns out well!
I appreciated this video. Me personally, I never could get into the lace fronts. Maybe I’m old school with it, however, my sew ins with my hair left out always been fly. No shade for the lace front ladies, but I like the feeling of having my hair ‘done’ if that makes sense? Plus my hair always grew nicely from my sew ins!!
Yes I know exactly what you mean, I like for it to look like it could be mine!
Wow, this is a great sew in. I would love to get this sew in my hair. Great job!!
You should try it, you’ll never look back
Just did something similar to my hair and I love it. Going to get someone else to redo it for me next time with an added bundle for a fuller look ❤
Glad you like it!
It came out so nice!
🤩
Thank you so much!
Wow this is perfect definitely will try this
Very smart and creative!
I will get a sew in cooler months and show this to my stylist so it will look les bulky.
Yes, it’ll definitely give you a flat install as long as the braids are flat!
If you are in Colorado and need an install done, email me at maryanandgwen@gmail.com
Wigs have proven to be VERY damaging and wig companys have not been consistant in quality. I have only done half wigs and uparts because I didnt have the skill the MELT LACE. (most women dont tbh). The DAMAGE caused be lacefronts PROVED that it wasnt a protective style.
@@mochamommyATX the glue is so bad but the ones you can pop on and off(closures) aren’t as bad, but can shift LOL! QUALITY MATTERS and most are 🗑 I hate to say it. Raw hair is best and the only hair I recommend. Upart are great too! The lace on wigs always looked fake to me, no matter how seamless the melt.
Inbetween sewins done with raw hair are my favorite!
im so happy about this🎉
Wow. This is beautiful 😍. Well done. Thanks for sharing
Thank you 🤍
You dld such a fantastic job!👍 I will show my stylist this video.. Just gorgeous😍 thank for this video.🙂💙
Of course!
This looks great on her !
Thank you!
Very nice❤love it
Wow I love this!!! I’ve never seen this braid pattern
It’s the most versatile one I’ve done!
Talented! Looks great 👍
Thanks Skii 🤍😍
Woah. You did a really great job!
Thank you!
You’re very talented! Great install
Thank you!
You did really good it looks great
Thanks!
Best video by far
Thank you Chanell 🤍
My hair is the same length Yay! I’m so excited I can definitely do this on my hair I alway struggle and think is my hair to short for certain styles But this video is great well detailed step by step my type of content!!
No it isn’t too short! Check out the one I did on myself! Just use a mirror in front and a mirror behind! As long as you have a tiny braid at the crown and cut layers. It will help blend your shortest layer with the extensions
@@Offthebeatenpath. ok I’m doing this tonight 🙌🏾😍
@@This-Tranquility let me know how it turns out!
I wish that I could have you do my hair . Great job
Thank you!
You did an amazing job. I took my braids out just so that I can give this a try😁
Hope it turns out well!
I’m about to take my sew in out to do this lol
You’re awesome great job❤
Thank you so much!
Ive always been a fan of sew ins, the versatile one is my fav! I did on on myself years ago with a full middle part and a left side part. soo many people thought it was my hair because I used yaki! If I can find some good quality kinky straight bundles, thats all Imma do going forward lol
its sooo much easier than closures/frontals, wigs, and my hair is too thick for microlinks.
Yes I agree, my hair is thick for microlinks too, sewin works best for me
@@Offthebeatenpath. I wont lie do wish I could try them tho and it wouldnt look crazy! lol
@@TheodoreBakes if you ever did I would do the track microlinks over the indivuals and double weft them! I’ve done it and it’s possible but it’s more maintenance than a sewin
Jill of all trades

That’s beautiful
Thank you Rylnn!
Beautiful ❤
You did that! ❤
Thank you 🤍
Love this
Thank you Patricia!
She’s so pretty
Yes she is!
You really do a good job. Like, really. 😊
I love hair so that makes me happy, thank you 😊
I only rock natural looking sew ins. And I am excited to try this braid pattern
I hope you like how it turns out!
Beautiful. I could tell the texture was much different form hair though. But you did amazing.
That’s why I recommend raw curly hair! Thank you 💕
Great work, me likey!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job
Thank you!
Hey love I’m new to your channel and I’ve watched your two sew in vids! I’d love to see the videos on which type of hair is right for you! When you’re available to make it, I’ll be the first to watch! God bless💓
Which hair extension texture or which method?
Great video
Thank you 🤍
My hair is 4C but willing to give it a try
Hair type doesn’t matter with this style! Just get a kinky straight or kinky curly texture or you’ll have to press your hair a ton!
good job!
Thank you Cavell!
I stopped wearing my wigs when I moved to Texas in 2020 due to the heat and I don’t miss them yet. The glue the headbands to hide the lace etc I was over it
I forgot about the glue 😫 I couldn’t imagine wearing that in Texas weather
I’m definitely going to do this.I’m getting a relaxer and my hair is the same length as your sisters.I’m using some cheap human pack hair tho.
Get a take texture! That will blend with relaxed hair!
@@Offthebeatenpath. so is a take texture like perm yaki?
Hi what's the site name of the company u purchased the hair from? Will like to do so also
Hi Gwen! I love & appreciate your videos. I need some clarification on crown braid. I don't understand what happened to the ends of the last 2 cornrows at the very top. You crossed them, sewed the cross over down, but the ends are out. Are those unbraired & included in the leave out? If so, how is it not unraveling & the track not slipping off???
Hey! Yes I left them out because if I sewed it down it would have been a little too bulky for my liking! I sewed it down to secure it and the thread acted as a rubber band so when I unbraided them, the cornrow didn’t come out. I straightened it like the rest of the leaveout and you could not tell!
@@Offthebeatenpath. I completely understand now. I can't thank you enough 🥰 You ALWAYS respond quickly 🙏🏽✨️❤️
So this holds better than micro links? I was thinking of getting them but I really like sew ins. I lose no hair and its absolutely no strain on my hair either. I friggin LOVE black women for al lyour wonderful inventions! You be teachin' da white women ALOT. 😆 All we seem to know is skincare, we dont have a clue about hair, haha!
Yes! It holds better than microlinks!
@@Offthebeatenpath. I knew it. Microlinks arent stuck to anything, they just sit on the hairshaft while a braid is stuck by the braid and then the rubberband.
My former hairdresser tried to talk me into getting microlinks instead but now I'm glad I didnt and went to a new that put in swe ins, it the only method I trust.
Thanks!
I can’t wait to get my sew in next week
🤗 ahhh nothing like a fresh Sewin 😊 enjoy it!
Okay but what’s rikki’s skin routine though? Because BAYBAAAAAAAY!!!
I knoooow :) I will ask here!
I wished that I could have seen more of the crown area sown in
When you do yours you can tweak it! In order for it to be enough hair for other braids and leave out on the sides you have to do a little Leaveout on top!
Um…you the best!
🥺 awe thank you 🤍🤍
I want this.
You can get it!
What happened to the top part

Thank you 🤍
Do you have suggestions if I would like to do a color blend (4,27,613) but natural hair is only 4? How would that work with leave out?
It would work and look balayage! A tip would be to make sure you leave out as little leaveout as possible(still enough to cover though) on the parts in the front! Too much left out and you’ll most likely be able to see the separation! OR you can add a Microlink at the very top to blend :) I used to do this when my leaveout was super short
@@Offthebeatenpath. great idea using the microlink on top! Thanks for the tips
OMG… This is amazing! I did tape ins in this pattern and it literally makes since for a more natural look! Where do you work… If I’m close to you I’m gonna make an appointment ASAP! 💕
Wow I’ve never thought about it for tapes! I don’t do hair! I’m in Colorado Springs!
@@Offthebeatenpath. Dang it! I live in Maryland and visited Colorado a lot last year because my daughter is an Officer in the Air Force! Uggg… I wish you were my best friend or lived closer so you could do my hair! 🤣
@shauna Williams how many tape in sandwiches did you have to use? I'm thinking of trying this as well. I love how natural it looks and the versatility
@@denisejones9615 I used about 20-25 sandwiches. I have a little peanut head. Lol! I also wanted it to look natural and full since I left a lot of leave out, and I also made sure I left enough hair out in between rows to cover the tape ins as well.
@shauna Williams. Thanks so much for responding. I'm looking forward to trying them using this method. Wish me luck ❤
❤️❤️
The half style is parted wayyyy too far back, but it looks amazing!!!!
Seems like she added hair in to make the hair fuller cause the model has fine hair. It looks great. I would luv some one to do this for me.
Yes and also it’s less work on wash days! Thank you!
If you don’t mind me asking…..how many bundles did you use for this style?
A little under 2!
I wouldn't mind having this done with 4c hair is that possible?
Yes of course! Just get a hair texture that matches in luster! I’d use either kinky straight, kinky curly, or raw Indian curly(you’d have to straighten your hair with this but the luster will match if it’s a textured bundle)
I wish you could do my hair 😫lol where did she get the hair from? It looks so beautiful
Thank you! She got it from Ali Express
@@Offthebeatenpath. okay, thank you!
Yeah it looks nice but I haven’t seen this method with long extensions. Is it that it only works when the extensions are close to your real hair length
I have done it on myself with long extensions. As long as your real hair in chin length(can pass for a curtain) bang you can go as long as you want. Longer hair=more bundles to get a fuller look!
I just tried this on long hair and if you don’t like the bang look you can do light layers from where your leave out ends to blend and make it look seamless. The layers will keep it full and make it look like it’s all one length because it eliminates the line of demarcation
Does this have lots of leave out
It has quite a bit but the parts are very small so it blends well

Thank you for subbing 🤍🤗
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Is her hair relaxed? Not sure if you mentioned this in the video. Sorry if you did.
I didn’t mention it! No, she’s never had a relaxer or perm! She just straightens it!
Why didn't you add braid hair in for the reinforcement of the braids isn't it better...my hair was torn up by thread alone...it's more protective with braid hair...just saying..but you have hands young lady looks beautiful the end result
I add it if it doesn’t irritate the scalp. In this case, braiding hair is not good. Thank you.
Hi. I know you changed your content but if you do have the time to respond I would like to know if I can use this same foundation for tape in extensions. I would like to try this.
Hey! Yes you can use it for tapes!
