I think the reason why they couldn’t do blue plastic for the eyes is because all the transparent plastic is all on one mold. Changing it to blue means all the other clear stuff has to be blue and that doesn’t work for the whole figure. And just doing the eyes as a separate mold would probably cost more so painting the eyes made more sense.
JRC Design on Ebay actually has a 3D printed Matrix holder for both the Siege and Kingdom Ultra Magnus molds to give him the matrix. I keep my Matrix's with my Earthrise Optimus, SS86 Hot Rod and Kingdom Galvatron but it's still nice to have that adaptor piece on him.
@@misterdarwin Thats true, none of them were leaders. Tho i remember siege Sideswipe and earthrise Prowl had at aleast three of its molds coming out around in the same time span
@@antiseize11 Prowl was wave 2, Barricade wave 4 so about 6 months apart. Within that year you also had Smokescreen (Selects) and Bluestreak (Wal-Mart exclusive). To me though there's a difference between putting out 4 $20 toys in a year and 3 $50 toys in three-four months.
GREAT REVIEW... Not really interested in Shattered Glass, but I've wanted a (Diaclone) fandom Delta Magnus in my collection for a while... Ordered mine a couple days ago, and it's on it's way... Now I have to decide what head I want use. I like the regular head and that fits the Delta Magnus character better, but it's nice having different heads for the different characters as well. And that fantastic Skull head could be a battle mask or armor of some kind.

I got mine in today too and That skull face is so good looking in hand. I’m happy with how this figure looks. Yes I had to sand the extra paint off of one if the missiles but overall a nice figure
Shatterd Glass Ultra Mangus look awesome. The Skull head always be awesome to have. A universe that his younger or older brother Optimus Prime over jealous his brother have the Mixture of Leadership he destroy his brother's face and ask Wheeljack or Slicer to fix and upgrades his body and obey his orders. That sword he using destroyed plants it call the Terminus Blade to make a reference to his BotCon's toy. Nice review.
The package being so larger is a marketing thing called perceived value. They do that do you think you are getting more then you are paying for but it just a waste of space and fuel to ship them. We should complain about it until they change their behavior.

Should had been a retooling of the G2 Laser Optimus Prime we have gotten recently which better matches up with how Ultra Magnus looked in the Shattered Glass comics
Finally bought him as I really like Delta Magnus. Since I have both Delta Magnus and Ultra Magnus in Masterpieces, I'll now have them both now as well.
I just wanted a Delta Magnus, and I got a sweet bonus skull head as well! Besides the Lays Chips box, my one gripe is that I can't get the sword to fit in the hands of "core" aka Blue Prime bot mode right our of the box. I'll probably also remove the tab from the sword hilt so Blue Meanie can wield it.
he looks cool and i want him =) it is great that he comes with the extra head so you can turn him into Delta Magnus. also in vehicle mode if you turn over the shoulder pilons there is a tab slot in the side of the trailer to solidify the trailer taking the stress off the leg clips. Great review. i hope toyhax makes a set for him.
To me this is THE Ultra Magnus mod to buy and I feel the figure is finally at the end off the line (unless we get a yellow version of him?!) and in its cross roads now, I mean his gun was always red but painted in various colors?!

Oh it’s definitely the best looking one in that line yet. Also in the comics he does have alternate head (Diaclone head) at end of 1st series. Haven’t read series 2 yet which that’s the first issue that he comes with.
I never read shattered glass, but was aware of it. Then, I watched a video on it, and once I saw that skull head, I immediately looked up the figure, and found one nsib on eBay for like $42. I didn't hesitate, especially with the optional head, and diaclone color scheme. He can in today, and he's a beefy boy. I already knew I was never going to transform him, cuz I can't stand either of Netflix's wfc series version of Magnus...still hoping for a SS86 re-issue of Magnus as I didn't get back into collecting till he was off market, and now subject to ridiculous mark ups.
I got my copy in today, is lovely to look at, thou my main nick picks would be the legs, the height makes him look weird, so I'll get the upgrade kit for him and the other is the shoulders with the massive hollow gaps, so hopefully a gap filler kit will appear to deal with that problem, I used upgrades on the ER and Siege Magnus figures to help improve their look!
Every issue I had with this mold “not being ultra magnus” is solved, because now he technically isn’t. Plus I already got the combiner wars version, so this version has a place on my shelf.
Await to see what Toyhax does for this guy. Really wish got more into Shattered Glass. The fact could do the diaclone look is another plus (also think of a second toyhax set there.) 3p could help that alt mode. Atleast with the wheels. Some hub caps for one but my brain just thought could do the faces of the Constructicons as hub caps.

Late night Patriot Prime? Hell yeah! Honestly love the SG head but not enough to buy the figure however it does give me hope for Legacy Bludgeon to have a wicked head sculpt. Lastly does anyone think we will eventually see a SS86 Ultra Magnus & will it be a new mold if we do?
I still prefer the Siege mold, but it is still a solid toy and the SG head really sold me on the figure. I am wondering how your figure's hips are? Mine feel a little lose when armored up.
Do you guys actually think this looks good? It's a bad use of the colors and how they interact, so it's strange that you keep saying makes the colors pop when it does just the opposite. The color contrast lacks a flowing nature, I would assume your desire for a Diaclone version is greatly driving your feelings.
Or it could be that I actually like the color scheme (except in truck mode), I have no nostalgia for Diaclone whatsoever. I bought this just because it's a Skull Faced Evil Ultra Magnus. I do think the colors "pop" but that's my opinion...which is what these videos are. I appreciate you watching and sharing your thoughts.
Bad use of colors? He's mostly blue and red ... damn wish I could think of any other super popular superheros and pop culture icons that use blue and red and maybe a splash of black ... hmmmmmmm
Seriously what's going on in Hasbro's head? We have a new Laser Optimus figure that would be perfect to be SG Magnus. Instead they chose the weaker mold for SG. The only excuse I can imagine is that they wanted to double advertise as SG Magnus and Delta Magnus.

If you flip the shoulder stacks upside down in vehicle mode, the extra tabs help hold the trailer together

I think they originally planned to pack the comic inside the box behind the figure. That's why it's so tall

I really like the Magna Convoy underbody, would've preferred the siege version though
I think one easier way to switch the heads is to undo the screw, at least on the Magnus head can’t really speak for the skull head. Great review 👍🏼

Mine was a little loose but not bad.
Maybe the comic was supposed to be in the same package which is why the package is over size, But they choose not to.
