Probably because there was someone out in the crowd with a Confederate flag. Imagine being a metalhead, essentially a de facto outcast your whole life, and basically making it, only to see douchelords who want you and your friends dead there "cheering" you on. I'd peace out too.
My girlfriend and I saw them at the Showbox in Seattle, WA opening for Cradle of Filth. 😂🎉After they finished I stepped out to have a smoke and saw them leaving the venue through a side door heading to a bus. I walked over and talked with them and told the fiddle player my gf thought he was Awesome. Not expecting he'd agree, I asked him he'd possibly step back in with me and meet her, that it would totally blow her mind. He didn't even hesitate and said "sure, let's do it!".. So we went back in, hiked up the stairs to where we were seated in the bar and he not only said "Hello" he sat and joined us for 30+ minutes. She was blown away, everyone around us was blown away and it was a night we'll never forget...
