Wow!!!! Are you guys for real!! Is this too good to be true? This is super exciting!! After being a Christian my entire life 40+ years, 2015 was the very first year I took God "off the shelf" and actually made Him the priority of my life. Guess what... He changed my life radically in 12 months! I mean like, it was a big deal. Now as I think about how to continue and deepen my journey in 2016, I randomly find out about you guys??!! Not likely "random", but I feel beyond blessed and will share this widely!!! Thank you and God bless!!!

John Ray I assume what the person is referring to, are many Christians who claim to follow Christ and his teachings but are mean spirited in terms of being like a Pharisee, or being complete hypocrites. Now I can not speak for the said person, but this is what I gather that they are trying to say.

Unfortunately not everyone in church follows the teachings and adopts a personality that is truly acceptable. But as Christians, we are also not perfect, no matter how mature we may be spiritually. I know what you mean, but never let that keep you away. We all have different personalities. Religious people have faults too, no one is perfect after all :).

Dear BibleProject, I hope you get to read this.
I started reading the Bible shortly prior to the pandemic, your videos motivated me and helped me understand, especially in the beginning. Now I’m studying theology and am thinking of becoming a priest. Yesterday I started on the Book of Revelation. Soon I will have finished reading the entire Bible with your help. God bless your work and thank you.

I've been trying my entire life to read through the entire Bible and so far I've only been able to read it cover to cover one time. But that was the most rewarding year of my life.
I believe I will read through it again sometime, but I'm not going to try and plan when I do.
I was only able to read it the first time because God gave me a hunger for it in that moment, and helped me get through it. I believe he will do it again when the time is right, but for now, I am so thankful for the videos that you guys are producing, and my random flip through helps sometimes. Other times I'll choose just one book that I want to get through.
Either way, whether you're only reading a little or a lot, as long as you're trying, I think that in and of itself can do wonders :)

I read thru the book twice in a year last year, and I converted less than 2 years ago. Your videos helped a lot when I had no background knowledge of the Bible, particularly Old Testaments. I am very thankful for your work, and I am looking forward to more contents this year.
Once you understand the background, it's not that painful to read the book. Rather, it's so enlightening and it makes my head clearer. So at this point, I have no problem reading through the Bible because I get a huge measurable benefit. I think the Bible becomes what you believe it to be. If you think it is very boring, it presents itself to be boring. If you think it gives you life and makes you smarter, it gives you life and makes you smarter. Pretty fascinating book.

I started a plan called Rapid Bible Read Through a few years ago where you try to read the Bible chronologically in 4 months. The third year, I did what you suggested here, where I listened to your overview of each book before I read it. So helpful! Keith Ferrin, who i joined to do this endeavor said "The purpose and reward for reading God's Word is to fall more in love with the Author." That is so true. The last 3 years I've done the RBRT 3 times each year, taking time off for Advent and Lent to do other studies. So precious. Thank you for your amazing work.

I have been reading through the bible and it is indeed hectic. But we need to keep in mind that we must do this while seeking God, which is why instead of only reading, you should meditate. Never try to read the bible as if it's a fiction novel or any regular book. In order to carry on, make it part of your life to meditate and always seek God through prayers.
I have done it in the way I explained above and before that I was merely reading the bible as a normal book, and I didn't even make it past Genesis; but thank God I am reading my way through and even twice a day now.
The spirit of the Lord gives us strength, let us always seek the holy spirit when we read the bible.

I'm so glad y'all are making these videos and I'm so thankful. When I first accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior, I decided that the people (Christians) were the reason for my distaste and not God. So, I took to reading the bible literally from cover to cover. Haha I got through Numbers and was so thankful that I decided to start reading a little of the New Testament. Anyway, having these videos has really helped put light and color behind the Torah. I'm super excited to continue reading through and look forward to what God has for me and how he will work through me for His glory. Bless you both, your families, and THANK YOU.

It's not difficult to read the Bible. I read it through probably twice a year. It's very important to not just read the Word, but to know it and live by it. You have no excuse not to read God's holy Word!

    • @JordoGarcia
      @JordoGarcia 7 лет назад +56

It's not difficult for YOU to read the Bible, brother. Blessings on you for constantly seeking his Word and keeping it sacred, I believe this truly pleases God! There is no excuse for not reading the bible, but that's not the real point of this video... it's to acknowledge that reading the bible is not easy for everyone, especially if you're not the best reader... or if you can't sit down for long periods of time... or if you're just beginning to take your faith seriously. This might make people feel better who are told they're heathens if they don't love studying scripture for 3 hours a day. (Hopefully one day they will!) These guys aren't telling everyone that they shouldn't read the Bible--they're simply offering a product they created that could help people who don't have the same passion as you do for reading scripture yet. I think reminding people to read the bible is wonderful, but we can't forget to be compassionate to those who aren't on the same level spiritually as we are...With love, God bless you.

      Amen!
I'd also like to add, if I may. Our spiritual growth comes from our perseverance. As you mentioned, for people who are beginning to develop their faith, it can be hard. So my advice for these people is to seek a church or someone who has more spiritual maturity to help them through this. It's hard, but not impossible. It all begins with a life of prayer and acceptance of God's will in our lives.
      God bless :)

Andre Wallace I agree. It should be daily. I think a lot of people don't read it because the devil and sin get in our heads and tell us not to. But once we practice being in God's presence we begin to love it and enjoy God. I love my bible 💖

By God's grace my wife and I have been reading through the bible each year for the last four years or so. We have been using D.A. Carson's, "For the love of God". We read the entire Bible through once a year, the New Testament and Psalms twice. We also support The Bible Project. You guys are great.

I am able to understand the Bible with the help of your videos. I never thought I could understand anything in Revelation, but everything is clear to me now. I also had a hard time understanding the Torah, but now I'm reading Leviticus and I can understand it thanks to your videos. I also watched the videos about Shema and I’m even going to preach about it based on what I’ve learned. I will never have words to describe my gratitude for your lives and for this project. May God continue to bless you! Jesus loves you deeply, never forget it! You guys are precious.

I'm reading through KJV and while I'm really enjoying it I've found that my willingness to push through Leviticus has actually helped my mindset throughout - once I got into the book of Joshua I was thrilled at getting out of Leviticus and returning to Narrative stories of their conquest of Judea but then I hit the seemingly endless monotonous chapters of divvying the land for each tribe. Once this happened I just remembered back to the instructions on constructing a tabernacle in Leviticus and knew that if I pushed on through this section then I would be rewarded.

Wow, you guys literally just read me out! Reading through the Bible was my #1 goal for 2021, I started on January 31st and finished on September 14th 🙏🏾 To God be the Glory 🙌🏾 I thank God for helping me to remain committed and consistent, I am so happy to finally complete it and now that I have, I have renewed faith and hope in God looking forward to Jesus's return and evangelize to others about Him. I plan to read it over again in another version next year 😁
Ps. The Bible Project was one of the resources I used to garner more understanding of what I read in each book. I used the YouVersion Bible app to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation 👍🏾

Hello blessing to everyone. At my church the pastor suggested to read a proverbs according to the date for example if its the 15 you read proverb 15. It will always work since the max days in a month is 31 and proverbs has 31 chapters so you will read the book over but why not it is full of wisdom. also lets be honest sometimes we will forget to read the day but maybe the next month you wont forget and would read it. its is a great way to start off the day with wisdom. God bless you all this was just a suggestion that i felt like sharing.

many many many will give up. but we shouldn't focus on those things we should be telling everyone no matter how impossible things are to man to God and WITH GOD, all things are possible. I love the bible although it's mostly in metaphors and parables, with 30% being prophecy, dispensation is key. don't take the bible in whole literally. it'll only discourage you. but committed stay people. really you are the only one benefiting from your reading the whole word. or not. and the time is pretty much over. read 5-6 days of the bible plan a day and you'll finish in 3 months. I'm reading mine and have no intentions on giving up any time soon great video love how your down to help people stay focused guys. God Bless

It's so cool y'all are doing this. The only way I manage to read through the whole Bible is breaking it up into thirds or fourths and reading a page or two from each of those sections each day. It keeps me from getting bored with a single book, and sometimes the different passages connect in unexpected ways. Like yesterday, I read the passages about the end times in Joel 2&3 and Jesus words about it in Matthew 24. It was facinating comparing the two, and it was completely unplanned on my part.

My husband and I are reading through the whole New Testament in a year which we started first day of Spring 2016. Then we will probably read through the Old Testament in two years. Reading through the entire Bible in a year just isn't realistic for us. Instead of trying to do that for the umteenth time and failing, we decided to do it this way and felt a peace about it. But, my 13 yr old son decided to read through the whole Bible using your plan for 2017! I'm so glad! And, we all love your videos. Thank you so much!

Actually I have read through the entire Bible. And...I was blown away at SO many things I saw that no one is preaching or teaching. I also saw that much I've heard from the pulpit...ain't in the Bible. And yes, there is also a lot I don't comprehend, which is why I've taken to following good Hebrew/Greek scholars. Never stop learning. You presentations are totally awesome, keep up the good work. I learn something new every time I read the Scriptures.
