Dodgers have been way too hot cold the last few years. This concerns me as although they may win 10 in a row, these cold streaks always seem to comeback and jack us in the playoffs.
Up until 2020 the Dodgers had a swagger - they had a punch the other team in the mouth, we can beat you anytime, anywhere kind of swagger and since 2020 they have lacked this. Now they make terrible pitchers look like a cy young award type pitcher. They get beat because some of our pitchers don't know what bear down and get after it means. They tend to sit back and wait instead of getting the job done. Smallball is not part of their game and it should be ( Lasorda was famous for employing the squeeze play to score runs and put pressure on the other team ). They will make the play-offs but they are dreaming if they think they will win the world-series with the kind of inconsistent play we are seeing. It goes on and on. Been bleeding Dodger blue for 50 years. Used to be back in the 60's - 70's if you had a pitcher not doing the job or batters hitting under .200 you were not long for the major leagues ...you were gone.
Watch the manager. He's a slug who doesn't challenge his team. Just sends them all over the place and it destroys any continuity they could have.

That's a classic sign that the manager you have is the manager you should not have. The manager is not only the dude who makes the decisions, he's the team shrink; managing emotions. Lasorda was REALLY good at that. Roberts is REALLY bad at that. That's how you get streaks. That's how you get clobbered, every October. It wasn't just Gibson who hobbled to the plate for that WS homerun, it was Lasorda too. Can you imagine that scenario with Roberts? Ohtani crawls to the plate bc he cannot walk? And if he doesn't hit a HR, he can't run to the base? No, you can't. Because, Roberts ain't Lasorda
James Paxton was struggling a bit but he left the game VERY winnable!!..why did Dave Roberts start experimenting again with the bullpen considering Yohan Ramirez has a questionable reputation..he was DFAd by the Mets remember?? Then he had him replaced with Alex Vesia who’s pitches are 95% fastballs..it was so obvious that Jonathan India was just waiting for that!! Why not send in Blake Treinen on situations like that..NOT Michael Grove or Vesia but Blake Treinen!! And where’s Ricky Vanasco who is just as filthy as Treinen is?? 🤷🏽♂️🤯No matter how strong the Dodgers are on paper..Dave Roberts time and time again since 2017..2018 up to the present has the lousiest disposition and decision making amongst all managers proven time and time again!!🤷🏽♂️🤯..then the after the game he indirectly blames James Paxton!! UNBELIEVABLE!!🤷🏽♂️🤯
Exactly , Dave Robert proves time after time that he does not know how to manage relief pitching, the Dodgers could have won that game.
Pitcher choices are the biggest management issue. Idk why we going to these questionable recent pickups, What up with the consummate Yarbs, Treinen is barely hiteable
Roberts is a complete bonehead. When will anyone see that? He doesn’t have a clue in how to manage the pen. It’s going to be another early exit playoff year. The Dodger front office just can not make this team ‘Roberts proof’, no matter who they sign.
It's not just Roberts' decision-making, it's how he handles the team's emotions: He doesn't. That's why his teams collapse in October. That's why LA has a 5-game losing streak now. The good news is that the next guy has gotta be better than this guy; it would be impossible to do worse.
dave roberts will never change. if the dodgers cannot get pass the nlds, that has to be it for him, right? Mattingly was canned after just 3 years. its now been 8 years with Dave and all he has to show for it is a mickey mouse ring. yes, as a Dodger fan. it was nice. but that cannot seriously be the ONLY ring in this era. if it is, that is absolutely embarrassing. we have to win at least 1 to at least validate 2020 and 2017 to some extent.

Also, he really knows how to play. Lux provides no power, no speed. not much of a hitter. put Miggy Ro at SS, and Mookie back at 2nd. SS is tough with all those long hurried throws. It could save Mookie hurting his shoulder.

I think what's so frustrating is if one of these guys-Kike-CT-Heyward-Vargas-Barnes etc. could just hit a mediocre.240 or so with average pop, be fundamentally sound, and not be a damn embarrassment rockin a .190-200 Average. Doesn't look like they can. So, get rid of all of them for one guy who can.
Vesia was put in last week w bases loaded he walked in a run - in the NLDS against the Pads he came in w bases loaded and gave up a grand slam - Roberts doesn’t learn - fire Roberts

Roberts is the common denominator for all Dodgers underachieving the past 6 seasons. Something needs to change because what we see now repeats every season
That loss is on the management. What do you expect when you bring in a dude who has already been DFAd three times already this year. !
The only guarantee is that Roberts will go with him again with the game on the line. He always doubles down on his bad decisions.

Dodgers need to clean house, starting with Roberts. If Ramirez is still on the roster after that stint, clear out the front office too. Dodgers do have several injured pitchers, but they would be better off bringing up a few youngsters from the minors, than keep signing relievers that no other team is interested in.

Dave deserves the loss, how do you put in a Yohan to relieve for paxton. He could have had anyone but choose that guy. Yohan should only pitch when they are up bitg or bases empty to give him some confident. He literally threw him into a line of fire.
After listening to the whole podcast, DMAC was way down too much on James Paxton. Johan Ramirez is a very bad pick up and lost that game, not Pax. Pax needed one more out for a 5-4 lead and the fifth inning over. Five less runs would have scored!!!
You live and die with paxton in that situation. That what separates Robert's from great managers like bochy

idk why we we're expecting 2014 kershaw out of Paxton. Even a Tyler Anderson would be nice, in fact for the most part. he has pitched like him but Paxton is just here until Kershaw comes back and to give the Dodgers a winnable chance. He hasnt been a problem at all. This inept offense and trash bullpen decisions by Roberts has put the Dodgers further back than they should be. starting out the nlcs in Philly is gonna be so awesome guys, they'll come back to LA down 0-2 :D

Learn from your mistakes...I do, but it seems the dodgers keep running it back! For those enablers of bad behavior, who say "they are first in this and that, and just come up with excuses," your the problem. This team should not be losing, if this team was me and you at our regular jobs... we'd be fired by now. If Dmac would miss a week of episodes with garbage coverage, we'd be livid. In any other job this team would be replaced in a heartbeat.

I am going to pretend that this is better. Dodgers are off and on. We have seen of late teams who barely make the playoffs ...winning the WS or making it to the WS. So who knows. Being dominant for the Dodger of late has NOT worked out. So go ahead lose some games maybe be a team that will barely make the playoffs. A long way to go but it seems dominant Dodgers teams get blown out real fast in the playoffs. Just be a mediocre competitive team then.. Good enough. I want a WC team then. I believe you must have someone else in mind like Bo or Adames (sp?) that you'd rather see in that position. I believe your putting him "down" is trickling down to these negative comments about him. Mookie didn't have to take this SS position on, He did it to help the team. If you remember a few years ago Freddie had to play 3rd base for ONE game.....He said he was a nervous wreck and would NEVER do it again, partly because he wasn't able to concentrate on his hitting.....wow, how is that helping the team???
