Been living here 25 years tomorrow. You failed to mention the constant train traffic that cuts through the middle of Smyrna at least 15
times or more a day. Roads in general are in disrepair, and even the patched potholes are caving in. Streets everywhere need paint. So hope that helps you balance out the cons. Diversity for sure, women in full burkas in Aldi's, Wal Mart, many many people lately speaking spanish, and they don't speak any English. When I came here I attended a couple of city council meetings where they promised no more trailer parks and no massive apartments, but they would build home to build homeownership. Smyrna Tn. is FULL of apartment complexes, duplexes, and as of late quads. Hazelwood Drive, now dubbed Hazelwood Highway by locals can guarantee you window rattling in your home day and all hours of the night due to the new Smyrna culture boom boxes. And someone down there asked about property taxes. Going up about 200 every year, be in that high category like the infamously high property taxes in Nashville soon enough. And the chipper service that picks up your trimmed tree limbs and bushes, I've had a small tree in my yard for a month since yesterday. I think you guys are selling real estate? If you want to live in Smyrna, try it before you buy into it. The one good thing the property value has went way up, but the taxes do along with that.

How high are the real-estate taxes in Smyrna?

The 2023 property tax rate is $0.5257 per $100.00 of assessed value. For an average single family home, with 3bedooms/2baths it will be anywhere from $1,600 to $2,000.

When you say "scrappy," what do you mean? What specific types of crime? If the car is safe, if the kids are safe, what kind of crimes happen? Property crimes? Petty theft? Would like to know so please expound. Thanks.

Here are some actual numbers to give you a better idea about the specific types of crime.
Not every area/neigborhood has the same crime numbers. Some neighborhoods are to be considered 'safer' that others.

I didn’t watch the whole video through, but I would imagine you guys aren’t talking about the Hispanics and illegal immigrants in Smyrna. There are entire parts of town that have been overrun.

Probably the reason crime rate has shot up too. Same thing happening to Knoxville.
