This isn't the first game to let you activate chaos control on command, putting the multiplayer mode in Sonic Adventure 2 aside, both Sonic Heroes and especially Shadow the Hedgehog let you activate chaos control on command once you fill in a gauge.

Chaos control was also used in Shadow the Hedgehog as a special move
It was but it worked completely different. Shadow the Hedgehog Chaos Control just had him send himself flying forward through the level much like the boost (Lancelot used a similar ability in Black Knight).
The only time I recall where Chaos Control was usable in gameplay for the purposing of stopping time was Sonic Heroes (and I guess in SA2's multiplayer mode).
@@JaidynReiman that's the good chaos control, the evil one is an explosion that stops time. Now that I'm thinking about it, it's also in Sonic Heroes
At least during main levels, Chaos Control would send him flying forward (same idea thematically, since everything else would be slower, but still). In boss fights, it would freeze time though (much like in the speed vs mode in SA2)

but the Time Stop version f Chaos Control was also in Shadow the Hedgehog during the boss fights
@@Artista_Frustrado yeah I'm realizing that I think the wires got crossed because the team special in Sonic Heroes he says chaos control and it freezes the enemies while acting like an explosion
9:25 funny you say that, they actually are developed on separate engines to our knowledge! OG Generations uses Hedgehog Engine 1 and Shadow uses Hedgehog Engine 2

@@XXtheJUMPoffXX that would be great if we were getting a straight up port of the PS3/360 versions. But because we're getting an upgraded version of Generations with newer graphical engines developed for newer gen systems, it makes it that much more difficult for developers to port over said game onto lesser/older hardware/systems.
This is basically Sonic’s version of 3d world bowsers fury. And it looks promising!
Doesnt come close in quality. Sonic Team games are usualy 6-7, with a rare 7 upwards.

Hold on, hold on, freak the video! I'm only 1 second in. *Cam shows Shadow's wings* * Zoom out* Man: "What uh what is that?" Lady: "Don't worry, it's Sonic 06 related." Instead, try Man: "Wait. Why does Shadow the Hedgehog have big wings?" Lady: Oh yeah, it's from Shadow the Hedgehog." Man: "That's not what I---?" I feel the joke could have been a great hook to get the families and audiences alike in a feel-good mood. I give it a 7.7. But the man had a twinkle in his right eye. And the ladies love that! So 7.9. Because 79% of the Sonic community are all indeed women. I'm sad. And it sucks. (Yes! About the joke) (that was a joke!) Overall. It's a step in the right direction. Idea: good. There's no excuse for it to be bad for Sonic Generations, but the making out Shadow part ( Aka Sonic X Shadow ) side of the game. I believe they are not going to do a job on it.
The Generations side better be good as it ran on the ps3 with no issues, the 360 ran with no issues... Graphically this game does not look much better than the PC version at all due to the stylization.
Glad to hear the Generation port side of things work well, as I was worried that it would have a Colours Ultimate problem again.

I’ll DEFINITELY be picking it up on the PS5! I’ll HOPEFULLY pre-order the Deluxe version of the game. As it is back at the pricing for when PS4 games were just $60 back in 2013-2020. The deluxe versions of games today are like RIDICULOUSLY at $80.

There is zero evidence that Ollie dislikes Open World games or 3D Sonic in general, that's just a cope that OP came up with to deal with a (completely justified) bad score. On the contrary, Ollie has publicly stated that he's always rooting for Sonic (so he *wants* the games to be good) and that both TotK and BotW (which are both Open World) are 10/10 games for him.
I really don’t know what I want to get this on, like it’s between getting in on steam or the switch because I already have generations on steam, but the switch version might run terribly

it is a remaster of generations with an all new shadow campaign i predict the shadow campaign will last from 6-10 levels
Here- to make this more familiar for you: think of this as Bowser’s Fury. One remaster of a full game with some QOL improvements and a much smaller, separate campaign you can play independently. It’s… really not that hard to understand.

I have a Nintendo switch have since Launch Sonic is a game i enjoy playing in portable mode at the doctors office. when that Sonic Superstars got released. The Switch version had the least amount of input lag the PS5 came next and then the XBOX series X|S were terrible Input lag. I hope this game doesn't run like 💩. Back during the XBOX 360 and PS3 days everything ran better on XBOX 360. I actually installed my sonic generations on my XBOX series X since its backwards compatible. I have no idea if Sonic super stars has been fixed with a patch. I will wait for sites like Digital Foundry to do a Test on all versions. before i choose which console I will get it for. Sonic Mania I bought first on Nintendo Switch and then so I would have a better looking version on the TV I bought the physical PS4 version of Sonic Mania Plus.

According to the official site, it seems the Switch version is only gonna be physical. There's no digital, so keep that in mind when buying it.
Apparently the digital Switch versions of these things don't go up until like a month before the release for some reason, or at least that's what I've heard.
Sonic game prices usually go down after a month. No need to rush.
I hope Sega will add the Electricity seen in the movies to Sonic in this upcoming game. It would make more sense. Could any of you please tell Sega about this idea?

I’m glad it looks good but how sonic team manage to survive making half baked nonsense or like this, not even just making a new game is beyond me. Sonic generations 2 couldn’t have been THAT difficult.

The devs themselves might want to. They don’t make the decisions. The company men do and they’ll exploit your love for the product till you squeal.
Defending lazy or seemingly incompetent devs making utterly bizarre creative and this terrible business decisions like sonic team or Bethesda is how they’re able to endlessly release broken, ugly, janky games and then rip us off with micro transactions on top, especially when you haven’t even played it.

@@L1qu1date That's not so much the case with Frontiers, Frontiers gets closer to normal platformer-style movement. Still not the same as something like Mario but he doesn't feel like a racecar in that game. And this game for the Shadow part seems to be built off Frontiers so it'll probably feel similar.
No, at the time Sonic Generations was not the best looking Sonic game. Even today, 2008 Sonic Unleashed, its still the graphic and resolution at his peak.

Could they make a metroidvania type of game for once? They seem to always go into the same direction.
@@sparkypack There are metroid elements in this. You unlock powers later in the game which you can use to get to new shortcuts and routes in the levels.
Nintendo needs to take this as a sign to come out with a much more powerful system. Like a Switch 2 perhaps.

As someone who thinks ALL sonic games are bad, it actually got me thinking "hmmm I may have to give this a go" So kudos to them for that, I guess
Frontiers was honestly a good game and a big step in the right direction for the franchise. On top of that, Sega completely reworked the endgame for fans, as well as giving FREE DLC to EVERYONE who bought the game. That's practically unheard of on BOTH counts in this day and age. Give them credit where it's due. When most people hate the end of a game the creators generally just make their fanbase deal w it anyway. And DLC is generally NEVER free, heck it's generally NEVER under $30
@hellzonefirebrigade3056 Eh, I think most of that stuff was meant to be in the base game but had to be delayed to even release around holiday time when it came out.
And I don't think its a good game personally, sonic doesn't feel good to control and the open zone stuff isnt tied into the actual gameplay well enough to be interesting and can be outright ignored most of the time by just spamming the fishing minigame.
But I'm glad you dig it.
@@hellzonefirebrigade3056 I really do like sonic frontiers and it's one of my favourite sonic games, even got platinum trophy on ps5. However, while it's cool that the dlc is free I honestly found it extremely janky and poorly designed and it left the whole experience feeling sour for me in the end. It makes me wonder why they released that dlc at all tbh, especially since they weren't making any money off of it

Of corse every video game media RUclips channels like IGN, Gamexplain and Nintendo Land have been played Sonic x Shadow Generations already months before it's launch, but for us who can't play and we're waiting it's more fun to be excited for Sonic x Shadow Generations and I have the Patience waiting for it to october the Fall and a month after september my birthmonth. Because there is coming a lot of good games in fall, that's my reason why fall is my favourite Season of the Year. As a Nintendo and Sonic fan I will buy Sonic x Shadow Generations for a Nintendo Switch because it's my the most Playful console of all time , but maybe I'll buy it for the PS5 too like how I bought Sonic Frontiers both on a Nintendo Switch and the PS5. Sonic x Shadow Generations will be my GOTY 2024 and it's the Best Remaster of all time. Why Shadow will have wings and turns into a demon-like, and is Shadow's story from Shadow the Hedgehog game in Sonic x Shadow Generations Remaster so I don't have to buy Shadow game? It's Fearless Year of Shadow: I am All of Me, Never turn back! 🔥🔥

Visuals don't really appeal to me.
It probably is a blast on PS5/Xbox Series X. Unfortunately, it looks like it runs like unoptimized garbage on the outdated stone age technology the Switch uses.

Sonic games seem to be confined to that standard 3D model from the mid-2000s. It has to be always fast paced. This is why it will never achieve the status of Kirby and the Forgotten Land for instance.
The Switch isn’t from the Stone Age like Atari 2600, yes the tech is old in the Switch but damn it the Switch gave us Mario Odyssey, Super Smash Bros Ultimate, Metroid Prime Remastered, Hyrule Warriors, Xenoblade Chronicles, I will always defend the greatest platform and game changer that is the Nintendo Switch.
