Oh my god I remember this game, I remember my brother from puerto rico stayed at my home a few mouths and he brought a Neo-Geo Pocket and this game with him. I played this game constantly I eventually unlocked all the characters and when I showed my brother this achievement that I was so proud of and he deleted it. because he didn't like the number of losses in the statistics so starting from scratch trying to get a perfect record he lost the 2nd battle and gave up on the idea
Still to this day, the best portable fighting game (and portable fighting game system) ever made. Rush mode + Tag made it very similar to a marvel vs. game. Really wish this got a sequel.
I played the ever living piss out of this game back when I was a kid. I regret getting rid of it like a dumbass. The Neo Geo Pocket had the best analog stick on a handheld I had ever used.
digital, works with tiny microswitches. but damn is it good, this game is one of the best ever. played like a dream this game. sadly neo geo pocket graphics never reached it's 16bit nature.
It's so cool how they ported this to modern consoles and added the ability to play versus mode without needing two systems and two copies of the game. Now if only they could port Marvel vs. Capcom 2 to modern consoles as well...
I still have my NGPC. and i put massive hours in to MoM. The gameplay is real fluid and it's pretty easy to combos and supers. Olympic mode is addicting too with it being various mini games to gain points to unlock alternate supers. i always thought of teh NGPC as the Dreamcast of Handhelds in a way that it had a great library but in this case of the NGPC, it just got crushed by the Gameboy.
I know this comment is three years old, but this game is now on modern consoles and PC, and even has the ability to play multiplayer without needing multiple systems! It's great!

lol, I love how they changed up Mai and Felicia's sprites up a bit. They made Mai's boobs smaller and made it look like Felicia's actually wearing clothes... and yet, Chun Li refers to herself as being sexy. Nice localization, guys... XD

@rickythekid Well you may not know but Bandai has merged with Namco so in a way there is a bit of Capcom vs. Bandai in the upcoming Street Fighter x Tekken and Tekken x Street Fighter, or better yet, Namco x Capcom.

@@mellohi6175 neogeo pocket was a beast of it's own. It for sure did animations not possible on a 8 bit machine.
