Great interview. I'm a big fan of Christopher Ward and Mike France, especially. I really like where they're going. The Aquitaine line looks fantastic. I love the change to the twin flags logo below the 12 marker. Perfect.
Christopher Ward C60 gen 3 is my favorite watch. Fantastic quality for the price and the features you won't get in $3000 pieces. Really excited for anything they bring next.
I had my eye on a CW GMT throughout the first half of this year, but couldn't pull the trigger since the $1k price tag was a lot to spend on something I'd never seen in person (CW has a very good return policy, but still...) Then the Wind-Up Watch Fair made its way to Chicago in July. The Christopher Ward booth was one of my first stops when I arrived, and within 30 seconds of trying on the Sealander GMT, I knew it was the one for me. I ordered it that very weekend, and it's been a heavy part of my rotation ever since. I can't say enough about the build quality, accuracy, and finishing, especially at this price point.
Mike France is incredible. He's in the middle of launching a new product (The Twelve), he is traveling to SF for 2023 Windup Fair (Apr. 28 through 30th), and he still has time to respond to me via email about my concerns on a recent purchase (36mm Sealander in Oxygen).
I like microbrands, but I also appreciate the long range planning and capabilities of larger brands. With some folks, you feel like they create a brand because they want to make a watch. And that's cool, but so is the professionalism, vision and business development of companies like CW. The more I see the more impressed I am.
My experience with Christopher Ward started out with customs issues, not having the proper worksheet breakdown for customs to value duties. After waiting 10 day's I received the watch I was satisfied with the watch. My opinion is the c63 gmt is worth the $1170 dollar asking price .
I worry about the lack of contrast in color between the dial and the hands. I have a watch now where the hands are the same color as the dial and it's hard to make out the time. I can see it fine with my glasses on but at night when I'm in bed it's hard to make out the time. I wish the outlined the hands in blue for contrast.
I wish Christopher Ward would just tone down the branding on their watches. The size and location of their branding is so obtrusive to the overall industrial design
Great interview with the head of a company that continues to creatively innovate. Keep it up CW, and congrats on the launch of the Aquitaine!

CW is such a nice company. That ceo seems to be a lovely chap and is always a great ambassador on behalf of his brand.

Thank God they finally changed that logo...AND a 36mm Sealander! I'm closer now to a CW purchase than ever before. Can't wait.
Definitely looking forward to the 36mm Sealander. Been hoping that might happen. Really want a blue dial, so based on what Mike said, I'll be ready!
even more hyped for the brand after this interview
Ch. Ward....one of my favorite brands.

Tease-er!! Dying to know now! 😂. Audio, eh? I’m guessing some sort of chiming minute repeater? 😮
Mike France seems like a very nice guy with a very very important quality in the watch business: he listens to CW's customers and fans.

Interesting brand and a interesting guy. Really good interview 👍🏼

The best micro out there. I don’t think you can get better bang for your buck in terms of quality.
Love it. The CW Aquitaine is everything i was looking for in a watch it may be my only luxury watch purchase.
Bough my first christopher ward watch last night I'm excited to handle it.

Audio clue gotta guess at a 3-4k repeater?
Does anyone think the host looks like the camera man “Tighten” in Megamind?
I love my new C60 Anthropocene GMT Polar White/Black with the twin flags
So does that mean a non £10,000+ minute repeater at the end of the year?
I wish Christopher Ward would just tone down the branding on their watches. The size and location of their branding is so obtrusive to the overall industrial design
Why do i have a feeling they're about to drop a tourbillon?
Edit: Ok prob not a tourbillon, maybe a minute repeater?
Show me a better watch brand at this price point ………………………….. I think you might struggle to do so. 👌🏻
Tudor, Timex, breitling, omega, seiko, casio etc
