    It's amazing to me how fast mother nature reclaims/destroys/covers up that many buildings.

    Game commission ruins a lot and makes everything inaccessible They lease land, lock it up ,and steal any motorized vehicle of someone exploring Lock it up so you can't see how much timbering they do. Leave junk trees and branches lay everywhere that hunters can't walk thru. It's not about hunting Land it's controlling recourses and people

    There's a Bear Valley Rd. in Ft. Loudon, PA too. My father and I walked his dogs there once and saw a coyote.

    It's always interesting to find old foundations, and old long forgotten structures. I agree, be cautious when exploring alone, always be careful.

    The towers are from the Pennsylvania Railroad. The tunnel is also from the railroad.

  • @doctordeath.5716
    @doctordeath.5716 6 лет назад +1

    Those towers are the old Telegraph towers for the railroad and the buildings that were there to send out telegraph's back in the old days

    Those line of concrete block things were for the telegraph wires for the towers that they put behind a building

  • @doctordeath.5716
    @doctordeath.5716 6 лет назад

    If I remember correctly those concrete blocks are for the old Telegraph wires and power that went to the buildings my friends uncle is from Bear Valley and around Higgins they closed up the tunnel from Higgins to Bear Valley because it was collapsing

  • @fire22pa
    @fire22pa 8 лет назад +1

    The towers were remaining from and old PP&l power line that ran from Lykens to Frailey not from the railroad as stated in another posting.

  • @kristenscott9438

    I agree with some of the other comments....looks like a telegraph line and or very old power line towers!

    What you are walking through and 9 minutes and 34 seconds looks like an old Blast Furnace or something like that with the way those pipes are coming out of the wall

    Pretty sure a lot of those buildings were for making black powder explosives that's why the buildings are so far apart and where those pipes came out of the wall it had 120 degree hot air that came out and dried the mix of coal, sulfur and saltpeter. thats my guess anyways cause i've been to an old powder mill before.

    • @thewanderingwoodsman7227
      @thewanderingwoodsman7227  7 лет назад +1

      It was a coal mining town. They didn't make black powder there.

    • @kevinjames9716
      @kevinjames9716 7 лет назад

      oh so they didnt use explosives in the mines and train tunnels?

    • @thewanderingwoodsman7227
      @thewanderingwoodsman7227  7 лет назад +3

      Sorry, wasn't looking for an argument. Maybe they did make black powder here, I've talked with someone who used to live there, but he never mentioned making the powder. But that doesn't mean they didn't.

      Non voted for government agency to do that for me. Or a non voted for agency that locks the land up from the people to hide profiting from timber , destroy historic ruins make a a days hike just to hunt or fish or see what they are doing while they can drive anywhere they want with a any type of vehicle
