Ah! I learned a lot thanks. Good job of keeping fingers and wires out of the gears for 7min. 36sec.!! That pan tilt does have "ground station" written all over it. Thanks!

    Good afternoon.
    Re. Hitec HS-785HB servo.
I had this servo since 2008 and it always worked fine. Suddenly it went mad. It goes from end to end without stopping at any stick position. Any advice on how to fix the problem..
    Thanks and regards

      Hello,
It sounds like the feedback pot has become disconnected from the output shaft. Hard to know for sure, but that can create the behavior I think you're experiencing.

@@ServoCity I'm having a similar issue with my HS-785HB. Except I believe when I ordered mine, I had it modified for continuous rotation. And now, it just keeps spinning in one direction and never stops, regardless of what commands I send it.

the servo slider seems perfect for opening and closing house door am i right? how about the capacity of moving heavy weight of the object is there any manual that i can read upon before buying?
    #thanks

Depending on the mechanical system that you're using to drive the door, it's very possible to use a servo like this to move a large amount of weight. But there are a lot of factors that go into determining how much Torque your servo needs to move a weight. Here's a video on Servo Torque! ruclips.net/video/KS2T2mvMitA/видео.html

how can you control the HS-785HB angle? It seems that I can't get my head around that. I am trying to make the code to rotate exactly 90 degrees ...

      Hello,
As with any servo, you'll want to reference the "travel per µsec" spec on the spec sheet. This will tell you exactly how far the servo will rotate with a given increase in signal.
On the 785 that spec is 1.570° so you'll need to go from your starting point (say 1500µsec) you'll need to increase the pwm signal by 57µsec. In this example you'd move from 1500µsec to 1557µsec.
Please feel free to shoot us an email to tech@servocity.com if you have any further questions!

I'm controlling this servo using joystick on a transmitter. Can the servo be made to hold position when the joystick is released back to center?

Hi Lance, an HS-785HB is closed loop servo with position feedback. Meaning it will always return back to center position when a joystick is used. You might consider using a continuous rotation servo without feedback. An HSR-2645-CRH www.servocity.com/hsr-2645crh-servo is a factory open loop servo that will give you the open loop control you’re looking for. Here at ServoCity, we also have extremely high torque servos that we modify to continuous rotation as well. Please let us know should you have any other questions tech@servocity.com.

Are there microservos that have this same type of characteristics? I mean an standard winch servo on a micro package?? I'm really needing one really bad... must of what is available in the market literally is huge!!

The HS-785HB servo is unique due to its multi-turn ability while having position feedback. These characteristics are only offered with the quarter-scale HS-785HB servo. Please let us know should you have any other questions tech@servocity.com.
