Soderbergh is an underrated filmmaker. I think he belongs on the best director list with Scorsese, Tarantino, PTA, Fincher, Spike Lee, etc. I loved The Knick.
Tarantino? The fetishizer that keeps making the same film over and over? You lost me on that one.
@@dreamingrightnow1174 I can’t see how a movie about a Jew set in Nazi-occupied France can be related in any way to a story in the ‘60s about cinema and the Manson Family
@@MrUtah1they both end in a bunch of gore just because.
"Traffic" is probably the best, and most memorable film that I've ever seen in a theatre
Such an underrated director. His films have the perfect bend of realism and style, and he’s always experimenting with each movie.
he is not underrated. pls people, stop using this nonsense word. Just look at his rotten tomatoes and tell me what is underrated about him.
@@folarinosibodu
If your definition of a good movie is how well it does on rotten tomatoes then sorry I can’t take your opinion seriously
@@kangaroo3708Don't think you you understood the OP's point because they're right. He isn't an 'underrated' director because most people who are familiar with his work have always highly regarded his work.
He is an exceptional talent. Love Out of Sight and The Limey, Traffic is very very good, and havent seen some of his latest ones. He s very versatile
I remember going to see Traffic in the theater. Phenomenal film. Very informative.
great interview, Steven's the man. can't wait for Logan Lucky!
turns out that movie fucking rules
Thanks a lot guys, keep uploading awesome content.
Awesome interview!
The Soderbergh OCEANS 11 is easily one of the very best remakes of all time. Arguably the best, going by a rational definition of that word. The original Oceans is borderline unwatchable. The rat pack sure had a hell of a time making it, but didn't care much about the quality of the result. It's boring as shit. In theory, the best way to approach doing a remake is taking what was a very interesting premise but was executed poorly. John Carpenter's "The Thing" is also I'd say up there with the step up from the previous.
This is not to suggest there's no plot holes in the Clooney movie, there definitely are, but overall a very fun, pretty competent movie.
his head is floating
Great movie. Cool interview
I don't think it's possible, to the degree that it defies the laws of physics, to make an accurate list of every Steven Soderbergh film. By the time you reach the end of the list he has already made at least one or two more movies and it's even more fascinating how much of this impossible list is at the higher end of solid quality. Love 2 Love Loving Movies!
I love that I love to love that I love loving to love that I love to love loving and to love film
24:45 - "I like making heist movies because you can tell people, for example, how to make dynamite out of gummy bears and fake salt in a pg-13 film"

I wish you came to college with me.
I need help? I don't understand what's happening. Sorry.
Hi jeffrey.
I could have told u... they make me do stuff. When u say stuff I think.
Jeffrey....
Steven soderberg vs Stephen Spielberg....Soderberg wins
Spielberg is so overated with precious gimmicks like the red dress, for instance.
Love Soderbergh but he’s never made a flick as good as Jaws, Schindler’s List, Saving Private Ryan, Raiders of the Lost Ark and Jurassic Park.
Jeffrey. Wth.
Charlie Rose makes me sick
Charlie rose is the greatest interviewer that has ever existed. He holds an important position in history through his show.
Don’t care
