@ChapterandConverse Audrey, where is Steve Cavanagh on your read to zero list? I'm shocked. Just kidding, enjoy what you read & I just want to say thank you for turning me on to the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell I have just finished the first book "Postmortem" & loved it.
Just a wee recommendation if you're ever looking for something new, check out Linwood Barclay's high concept thrillers, a couple that I have loved are:
1. No Time For Goodbye
2. Too Close To Home
3. A Tap On The Window
4. Elevator Pitch
Ohhh. Those books sound so good. I’ve never heard of these
Speaking of Lisa Jewell, I was surprised to see she has a Disney/Marvel Jessica Jones book coming out this year called Breaking the Dark (out July 2).
Last year I read Eight Perfect Murders on your recommendation and loved it. Peter Swanson is on my read to zero this year.
Hello! Just looking at the books on your shelves, I can see many of my favorites. Lisa Jewell, a favorite for me as well, and I didn't realize she had written so many. Watching You has a great twist, I hope you enjoy. Such a fun video, thank you! Elizabeth
Audrey dear, you're "always" rambling nit just today 😂 and we're here for it ❤
Heather Gudenkauf! Because she’s from Iowa too! And I love her writing style. 🥰
I read all the Christie books many, many years ago. (I’m officially old.). It might be fun to reread some of them. I love John Sanford’s serial killer books. I’ve read him to zero until he comes out with a new one. On a whole different book type, I’ve also read Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series. I loved these for the first 20 or so. I have liked the more recent ones much less, but i’m 30 books in so I guess, I’m too invested to read whatever she puts out. I would like to figure out where I left off on Kay Scarpetta books and read what I missed. Same with Coulter’s FBI series. I don’t have anyone I’m working on to read to zero. I’m just reading. Love hearing what you are reading.
I really enjoyed the early Kay Scarpetta books but found they fell off hard.
I loved them but they simply became too dark depressing for me
I read Bright Young Women last month based on your review and I loved it too. I realized too she went to college in the town where I grew up and now live in again, so I feel a connection to her based on that. My read to zero list would include Kate Morton, Louise Penney* and Amor Towles. Will there be a springo bingo again this year? Fingers crossed you say yes😊
* not necessarily the book with Hilary Clinton
I loved, Bright Young Women, as well. I am a mood too. Intensional is a great word for the year. Great video.
Freda McFadden is my go to right now, as well as Lisa Jewell. There are a few of the authors, and by a few I mean a lot….that you have suggested that I want to read. I love listening to you, and have read many of your reads! Have a great week!
I have three authors that I would like to read their backlist. Patricia Cornwall Scarpetta series, Simone St. James and Alex Kava Maggie O’Dell series. But, now I want to add some from your list too! LOL!! 📚
From one "rambly" girl to another - You are so enjoyable to watch - You make me feel better knowing I tend to be all over the place at times and it is ok - LOL! Another great video - I can see why you want to read all of these incredible authors to zero - On my list? Gillian Flynn, Tana French, VE Schwab to name a few. Would love to connect, one of these days!
Love what I've read of Peter Swanson like you I read a kind worth killing and it's one of the few thrillers that stayed with me ( read it when it came out so a while ago) then nothing until last summer when I was struggling with concentration and a friend gave me 9 lives which I read in two days. Rules for perfect murders followed which I loved and now I'm working my way through his stuff. Annoyingly a friend had the Christmas novella and usually gives her books to me and thinks she did but never received it so will try to get a copy as part of my winter reads this year .
So happy to find a fellow Swanson fan! I just love what he does in his books!
@@ChapterandConverse I am looking forward to reading the sequel to a kind worth killing. I thought Rules for perfect murders so entertaining it helps that he used a good few of my favourite classics in the premise. Every vow you break is next on my list as managed to pick a new copy up in a local non book shop for a couple of pounds.
I have late diagnosed ADHD alongside pre menopause brain so can struggle with slow burners his writing style works for me.
@@Greencava11 His books really are such compulsive reads. I have 2 more to go to get to zero so should be able to knock that out this year! I hope! 🙃
Thank you so much for a new author
Just trying to read down my physical TBR.
Great idea! I want to do this now. Lisa jewel Samantha downing and Freida McFadden are ones I’d choose
I want to read or reread all of David Mitchell's novels this year. His books are vaguely in the same universe and I didn't read them with that in mind and now I want to find the connections.
I don’t have an official read to zero list but I really want to read SA Cosby’s backlist.
All seems right up my alley
I have a looooong list of series and authors I want to start and try as well as a looong list of series I want to finish, yet I can't seem to control myself when it comes to buying or requesting new books🙂
My read to zero is Riley Sager, Freida McFadden and Patricia Cornwell
Reading Agatha Christie and Ragnar Jonasson. Right now reading Reykjavik. He wrote this one with Katrin Jakobsdottir, who is the Prime Minister of Iceland. It's good so far. Past and present timeline. About 75 pages in. Have you read this one by Jonasson? I just came across it at the library, on their new books shelf.
Patricia Briggs is my read to zero author 🥰
Would you consider adding ratings to books? I never see your favorites or least favorites - I’d love to know likes/dislikes
My 2024 read to zero author is Ruth Ware! I'm 5/5 so far.
Peter Swanson was such a let down for me when I read Nine Lives. I'm up for giving him another chance, which book would you recommend?
I enjoyed 9 lives but if you haven't read anything else of his would try A kind worth killing if you don't like that then he isn't for you.
Did you see your face on Katie Colson's upcoming video? I'm interested to hear what book she picks from your list!
I am doing the Agatha Christie challenge as well. I cannot believe I have made it to the age I am without having had read her books!
