    As someone who lives in Australia as a photographer - It is so rare to find quality tech gear channels - especially a tech gear channel that gives Australian prices. Thank you.

    Hello I hope you can help me … I’m starting a 3 HOST podcast and I’m thinking either buying sl100Bi or the La150 … both with the Godox lantern … normally I would go directly for the 150 « more power maybe for other usage » but the fan also is an issue I think more than the sl 100 … is the 100 enough to light 3 people or should I take the la150 … great review and thank you in advance

    For me, the direct power connection is a feature, not a bug. No brick! If I need battery power, I'd get the ML 60.

    Absolutely love your videos, and I'd love to see more of the low budget lights (like this Godox), even ones that you don't find to be particularly good (I think you've mentioned leaving out reviews of poorly performing products in the past?)

    Do you plan test Nanlite FS150 and Aputure amaran 100? They in +- same price/brightness category.

    • @luisa9628

      Go listen to the sounds an Amaran makes. It's literally unusable if you're recording sound. The Amaran is worse than the original noisy SL60.

    • @Trevellian
      @Trevellian 2 года назад

      @@luisa9628 It's interesting, some reviewers say their copy isn't noisy at all, while others say the noise is unbearable. Wonder if it's a quality assurance issue? The ls60x does appear to be quieter.

    Thanks for the video, any review about the Godox SK-400 II model for video and product photography for beginners.? I am thinking of buying decent single strobe light which I can use as a continuous as well as flash. Since I am new to lighting setup, it will be a great help if you share some insight about SK-400 II Light. Thank you in advance.

    Congratulations on your content! I don't have (yet) a color meter, I would very much like to know your experience (or maybe a while video) about using gels with LED lights (aputure and others). From what I understand it has a noticeable shift but how much is the thousand dollar question.
    Best regards!
    Cheers,

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  2 года назад +1

      I don't tend to gel lights much as I have lots of full or Bi-colour options, and if I do gel a daylight COB to tungsten, I'm not directly matching it to a tungsten light. So I actually don't know.
      I think last year I saw a video on Indi Mogul that was quite in-depth

    • @lusw
      @lusw 2 года назад +2

      @@gaffergear Thanks for the reply! Yes, I thought that would be the case, but I'm still very mystified by how a non-continous spectrum would be affected (or not affected) by a filter (gel) and the shifts it would occur. I'll much appreciated if you consider this to be a video in the future. Best regards!

    What do you need to put on this light to approximate tungsten? Do you need to correct for cast?

    • @xx1simon1xx
      @xx1simon1xx 3 года назад

      That would be Full cto.

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  3 года назад +3

      I would say full CTO, but some times with LED the filtering of the spectrum can be more of less so it can sometimes be a 3/4 CTO.
      I'll run a metre with some CTO today and see what we get. I should out this in all mono light reviews.

    • @jon4715
      @jon4715 3 года назад

      @@gaffergear I appreciate the response. I have gotten the impression with the SL150 that I need a little more fine tuning with the gels, and to maybe even introduce very weak Magenta or Green gels if mixing light (say if I can't control house lights during a conference or seminar).

    • @gaffergear
      @gaffergear  3 года назад +2

      Full CTO is the best match. It comes in at 3030k with a bit of green to about 1/2 of a 1/8th correction gel.
      Scores 95 on the TM-30
