  • This episode introduces one of Nottingham’s finest and most underrated record dealers, selectors and soundsystem enthusiasts, Andrew Neale aka Tradition Hi Fi.
Known for his unrivalled selection of Jamaican imports from across the spectrum of reggae; he’s been delivering a curated monthly list of records, carefully hand-crafted on his typewriter and fired off to a devoted circle of record addicts across the globe for over 40 years.
In this conversation, we uncover the humble beginnings of these connections and how he fell in love with music as well as some of the stories and artefacts that make his secret hideout such a special place.
Turn on, tune in, string up, and crack the bass for this unique journey through the sights and sounds of Jamaica via Nottingham.
As always a massive thanks to Andrew for his time and contribution to Nottingham and the wider music landscape, for record lovers alike.

Great stuff Andrew. You know such a lot but you never come across as a know-it-all or a snob. Your lists are always an education, and they're entertaining too. Never stop ... Mick, Sheffield

I remember Brian's list, back in the days when I couldn't believe anyone would ever pay £6 for a ska record. A great watch, Andrew. More power.

Thoroughly interesting and most enjoyable - I’m certain I’m not alone in wanting more of your curious and particular anecdotes.
Thank goodness you were sacked for reading those lists!

This guy must know Radar Reid if he knows Brian Harris, a legendary figure in the reggae world.
