Caroline, I thouroughly am enjoying your vlogs - both the weekly and vlogmas. I remember reading a copy of Phyllis A. Whitney's Mystery on the Isle of Skye as a youngerster (I think it was my Grandma's book as a child) and it resonated so deeply with me (scottish ancestry influence probably), so getting a glimpse at your life on Skye is a refreshing reminder of that cosy memory!

My husband and I are going to Canada for Christmas (where I'm from), my Mum has said their is going to be a talent show... so my husband and I have been practising performing a Brothers Fife Christmas song, he's learned the song on guitar. Looking forward to Edinburgh (went to university there yonks ago). I think you may be right with only having one dog. You just never know, and the fact that your dynamic works right now is key. When we got our current Shetland Sheepdog (now age 13) we already had a cat. They got on fine. Well that cat left with my daughter when she moved into her own apartment. So eventually I got another cat. Started out okay and then he turned into a “bully”. To this day I still apologize to the dog for bringing the “ginger monster” into the house.
Aw amazing, hopefully the Edinburgh ones take you on a trip down memory lane too!! And yeah that’s my fear with the idea of getting a second!! The ginger monster 😂😂
Caroline, if you're learning Gaelic i highly recommend speak gaelic online, it actually teaches you the reasons why the language works as it does and catapults you so much quicker than Duolingo. Doing them both is the actual best way to learn!

I’m a little confused as to why the Scottish government isn’t limiting foreign investors and others buying properties just to Airbnb them and not as primary family residence? Seems like it is driving up the housing prices massively…
Definitely think Nuala loves being an only dog. Collies just love their people so much that I don’t think they need another dog in the family, especially when they have as many wee pals as Nuala has. She has a great life ❤. I didn’t realise her full name was Fionnuala 😍. One of our Highland calves is called Fionnuala of Applecross and I love the name too (maybe because I’m half Irish ☘️).
