I have been to MMJ since day 1 and it has become my “local”. Martín does an outstanding job! Since it’s my “local”, I am interested in having a good beer and a chat, in a great atmosphere. Martín pays attention to make sure you get a perfect pint of Guinness and also makes sure there is a good beer selection, other then the normal Thai beers, which makes this gents club stand out compared to others in the area. I highly recommend.

I have been living in Thailand for many years managing two businesses, but I think that being a "bar manager" is not for everyone. You need special skills to often deal with drunken low-life types and greedy girls who would do anything for a fistful of dollars. Thanks, but no thanks

Martin comes across as one of the nicest people you are ever gonna meet, like quite a few comments have said you really need to do another interview with him. I'm not sure he makes that much money as a bar manager in Pattaya, it is likely he made his money in construction which allows him to have this type job.

Beware when playing pool at the Buzzin Lounge .. there's a girl in there that's a pool shark. I offered to play her & cocky me said I would give her 200 baht every time she wins. She disappears & reappears with her pool cue. She broke and potted everything. Five games later I am 1,000 baht poorer. I say enough I will play you for no money, I win the game & I say at least I won one, she replies I don't try if there's no money 😡

Have been hearing some complaints about prices. Especially bar fines and what the ladies are asking for.
Bar fines haven't really changed in the last 5 years. It's 1000b start of day, 500b 3 hours before close and 300b at closing. Girls may want slightly more nowadays but that's always a negotiation and it varies. Jomtien should be cheaper than central Pattaya and the dark side is even cheaper.

@@Enochsright I only mentioned bar fine prices. Which are exactly what I described in my bars and many others. What ladies charge is entirely separate and in addition to the bar fine.

I love your channel and I love your positivity regarding Pattaya. I love the weekly news you pass on and I really enjoy listening to your Sunday chat show. I hope I didn’t cause offence. I am so sorry if I did. I was in a bad place regarding work pressures and indeed it was difficult to snap out of it having just arrived in Thailand immediately after finishing work and not really getting into holiday mode thereafter. Once again I am so sorry. You are an amazing guy and I am very grateful for what you do and the hard work you have to put into your video editing. I know it is not easy. Jonathan if your job stresses you out, it may be worth. making a change ... if there is one thing that I have learnt over the years .. do something you enjoy doing even if this means less money and living a fit more frugal.

@@Buzzinpattaya its sad to see 👀. Lots of people's dreams of trying to make a living in pattaya. The way things are looking now in the UK 🇬🇧 a lot of people will be changing there minds about travelling to Thailand 🇹🇭. Prices are on the increase again
It's a sign of a healthy road. When you have 50 bars on a road like Soi Chaiyapoon you'd expect 20% to succeed and 80% to break even or fail. Then maybe 10% churn per year. Bars go up for sale and get sold and new owners come in and the ones that do well improve the quality of the road. It's when no bars come up for sale because everyone has given up as they know they won't sell when you need to worry.

Having managed Amazon ago go. Fubar, Boons Bar, and other bars in Cambodia. I can say its a lot of fun and if your funds are low, a great way to get by, but its not a healthy life style and can get boring having to stay in the same spot night after night.

I'm thinking being a bar manager in Thailand has to be a tough job. To much alcohol flowing freely and it's associated problems
Yeah it's not as easy as many think
I think it takes a certain character who has discipline which Martin seems to have. Kind to the employees but also demands respect. I think - as a manager - if you act like a customer then you will lose respect from the ladies. If I were a manager I would never drink alcohol at the bar that I manage.
I have yet to visit the Jomtien MM location but hearing decent things. Does your pub crawl ever drop by there?

Been living in Pattaya for a decade, all the owners claim they make a fortune, I’ve never seen one rent for more the 10000 b look at their videos they always at some point show u were they live …. Dumps , it’s Thailand property cheap , hence they all bs , my misses in realestate says all the bar owners live poor , known fact ,

Yep.same same. You'll walk pass the bars and most of them are full of bar girls and hardly any customers but when interviewing a bar owner he's always "killing it".😅😅😅

No bar has more then a few guys , the odd one maybe 10 in group, all old all fat all moving at a snails pace , the day of big drinking is gone , it’s young who prefer gyms and phone …. Bar life on Thailand scale is dead
