Watching this video after watching Ziz talk to Alkaizer and Kripp talk about Gladiator is incredible whiplash.

The common denominator is "Glad got nothing but bleed and block!".
Kripp heard that and was like: "The fuck else you need?!"
what I notice about PoE is players all get locked into what they know and when that changes they think it's bad now, until people try it out and find how it works
I think the Glad rework is exactly what it should have been, its a simple ascendancy based around bleed and block. I think how good retaliation skills feel will ultimately make or break if its a really good ascendancy.
Alk is a sociopath. Can't learn from anyone.
I think Scion has the best Tincture support actually, she makes so much sense. You can take power of purpose to manage the mana burn. It's 1% per tick, you get a high regen rate and a low mana max and you can sustain plenty well. Then you get a ton of charges from having high mana burn from the mastery. Using EB for mana management.
also why does warden get 4 more ascendancy nodes than gladitator??

As a mid tier ascendancy that needed to be reworked again this league?
It is still a zdps ascendacy, the reason is so popular is because of free melding and ele res with just fire res and that frees a lot of your suffixes

During the trailer either the maven or a maven invitation dropped some of the new chisels. Its hard to tell becahse they have no loot filter on so it blends in with everything else. I cant imagine that will be the only place they drop though
I don't know what they are talking about because Glad is going to be solid. Also a great use of Varunastra is main handing one with Spectral Shield Throw so you can get Weapon Master. Plus I think the boys are discounting the insanity of Lucky Block. You can take Versatile Combatant to easily reach spell block cap with Glad and completely ignore the downside because even if you had no bonus to max block the lucky still makes it 81% chance to block.
Can you give me time stamp to when they start discussing SST?

Glad is sick a ton of versatility. Even spell casters can benefit from Lucky block, war of attrition, and sometimes weapon master. I'm starting Nightblade + perfect agony and then doing a cool COC build at the end.
yeh man, im doing tornado of ele turbulence with the spell retaliation, max block, i got infinite effective hit pool with 2 mil dps with shit gear, and thats not even including the retaliation skill

The lucky block goes insane for defenses. Unfortunately low damage but for builds that want to be extra tanky or retaliate builds it'll be great for such easy block cap and consistent retaliate useage, frees up some budget for more offensive investment

i heard ziz say they thought glad bleed would be bad but later clarifications made it turn out to be quite good, i assume this podcast was from before that, but im not sure

Those 4 are softcore zoomers, glad is trash for thst imo. For Hardcore it does look insane, or for if you want to have a tanky char.

I'm really excited to do a 4l sheild charge bleed build for clear with a 6l housing 2 retaliate skills.

Is it Fubgun's LS Warden build that Tyty is mocking by saying that stuff about max shocks, shock effectiveness, more dmg multiplier in config, etc? Kinda seems that way after looking at his PoB.
I'm getting pre league reworked chieftain vibes from the Gladiator discussion. Time will tell how broken it is but you didnt even talk about the retailiation nodes but to be fair this could have been before the gem details were out.

Yeah getting deja vu on this. At minimum glad will get a bit of a buff next league and will be broken. Chieftain is insane now with the slam changes and the warcry node and was good before this patch regardless.
Gladiator's "Weaponmaster" should have a Bow Mod as well, along the lines of either:
- 25% More Damage with Hits and Ailments"
- Bow Attacks Maim on hit ; Enemies maimed by you take 30% increased Physical Damage"
Retaliation Skills should have a keystone on the atlas to become trigger skills, with some kind of penalty like doubling the CD or nerfing the damage ;)

I think these retaliate skills were ported from POE 2. I love it.
im a casual poe player, i can't ever see myself rushing through to the endgame. it takes me like maybe 12 hours, lol. but the league is for 3 months, so I don't see any reason to no-life for a day or two just to get everything quicker. why should I. I guess it's because of the economy?

Mostly just streamers that can reach that, for what ever reason maxroll loves to put out podcast with people who lack the understanding that 95% of the player base won’t blast to through the map in 12 hours.
Take your time and enjoy the grind, no need to rush it
I clock the same time for campaign clear on the first character of a new league so you aren’t really in the wrong, maybe 6-8 hours if I’m playing a faster build
Don't feel bad for taking your time. I usually play the first month of each league because that's when it's hyped and when trades are more common. It becomes very difficult to trade after a month, especially in a dead league like last league. However, this league mechanic seems heavy on grinding and time gating so it'll be beneficial to take it slower. I also expect op builds to rise up after a week and GGG to do some balancing/fixing as well
There are opportunities for gearing and making currency in the first 48-72 hours of a league that will go away after that point. By and large though, most players don't rush this game - streamers and hardcore players, always, but they make up a fairly small portion of overall players.
For me, I try to rush through acts because ive done them so...many..times.. by now that it continues to feel like such a goddamned slog. I have gotten my time down though over the years and can usually complete acts pretty quickly (thanks to people like tyty).
Ultimately though, you do you - its still a game that is meant to be enjoyed.. its not a job for us like it is for streamers.
Warden feels like it was meant to give expensive deadeye builds creative options for Forbidden flesh/flame and isn't actually meant to be played lol
True. It doesnt feel like like ascendancy in itself.
What a dogshit ascendancy to lose raider for.
It brought some cool things but deleting all of the QoL raider gave is just DUMB(Suppression, Ailment avoid and frenzy charge gen)
I think the only build missing was maybe Poison Spark / Vaal Spark?
@1:18:20 Whakawairua Tuahu doesent hit u with anything, and projectile shield, so yeah that whould be impossible for a retaliate build

If GGG wanted retaliation to be a thing so bad why didnt they just make a minion that will only attack the character to trigger all these shit reliably

I think warden will be good with tinctures at league launch, just get an attack speed suffix and it will be fine. Just scuffed when it has any downtime lol.
If you get lingering node tinctures will have like 2 seconds of downtime at most with CDR investment. It really wont matter. You can also use they keystone that removes 80% of your max mana into armor to make the mana drain basically cost nothing. Easily mitigated mana burn stacks with some regen investment.
To, Crouching Tuna... I still remember you saying "I've always wanted to use Dominating blow so much, but melee is in a bad spot so....." You've said this twivce in your previous podcast in fated cannections with Batmasterop and Balormage..... Now finally melee is buffed. As a veteran content creator, We'll see if you stand by your words or not, there's no excuse not to use melee anymore... Cmon bring it on...
Melee buffed is an overstatement.
He wants to go fast so he will likely never play a slow build ever like melee

With 60 pages of patch notes and an unprecedented league mechanic, it's hard to tell what will happen this league. However, most builds seem viable but everyone is hyped that melee is back so that'll be popular. Not a huge fan of the shout and banner changes myself. Also need to work around the changes to grace/determination. I hope they buff guardian next league.

These guys are cooked on glad. Also cooked on retaliation skills. That or their blatantly lying about it. You can use second wind for 2 charges on retaliation skills, you get 70% chance to be able to reuse on button press, you get 35% chance to reset other retaliation skill on button press. They have insane dmg.
Warden barkskin is garbage. Ignore it. Tinctures are garbage unless the unique tinctures are really strong. The frost and scorch nodes are insane, especially the freeze + hoarfrost node.

I am incredibly glad that none of these people are in charge of game balance. I love them and their fantastic creators each otherwise.

Disenchanter is an underrated 1c unique sink. All uniques going to be 10+ c this league
The disenchanting is gated by time, not amount of shit uniques you have, that will never be your bottleneck.
@@denis9300 we will see how long they take with max skilled workers and full upgrades. For all we know it'll take like 1minute per item when maxed out and the dust it produces is a multiplier to ship rewards according to Mark ontop of needed for recombs so crafters will want constant flows of dust fodder.

RF for dmg, you sleep next to a boss wait for the 100% dmg to kick in, have block for extra defense, and cyclone for bleed pop :))) sounds like a POE 2 potential build by design

You can probably play arc on hiero with archmage, it won’t be as good as other lightning spells but it won’t be terrible.

@@daath912 Spell Cascade. Smite. Splash+additional strike targets. Depending on how it's coded, everything totems, traps, Astral Projector. There's more, but you get my point.
How about you get yyour stick out of your butt and stop trying to redefine game mechanics which are *very* clearly defined and described *in the game itself*. See Shrapnel Ballista, the only instance in which "shotgun" was enabled.
You can't call a spade a plane just because you throw it. Just as you can't call a shotgun a rocket launcher just because both use projectiles.

Hard agree, maybe just profile pics or even a small slideshow would do wonders to make it seem less goofy.
I’d be hard pressed to make a big deal if it was a personal channel but it looks silly if I refer a friend to maxroll guides and they find this channel and see a bunch of grown adults sitting in a dark room.

Aer0 seems like an interesting guy, but he is overshadowed by Tytykiller's unpleasantness. I really couldn't watch this. Tytykiller feels overbearing and accuses others of "stealing" content while admitting he "steals" too. Overall, he is just an unpleasant person to listen to.
Aer0 is a great dude, he has cool builds. i think people just don't understand him because of how abrasive and unpleasant he can be when talking to others. Kind of like quin.
i was teasing jung about saying my PS locus build was trash and then 2 leagues later saying PS locus is the best league starter. just a lil joke, didnt mean to be unpleasant.
