I really love the track. The plucked violins in the beginning make you picture someone on their tiptoes, sneaking in somewhere. It slowly ramps up to an action Mission Impossible vibe. It perfectly encapsulates the heist-adventure tone of the Ant-Man film.
Love it! Definitely one of the most memorable MCU themes. I don’t know of it was deliberate but it constantly switches between smallness/subtlety and grandness. Could possibly be a representation or nod at the Ant-Man and Giant-Man dynamic.
Doge I agree. Not the best movie in the MCU, but definitely the most entertaining. I'd go as afar to say it's my favorite. The humor was actually humorous, and they told the origins of both Scott Lang and Hank Pym well, and introduced a newer heroine at the end as well. Everything you'd ask for in a Marvel movie. An exciting hero, a vibrant story, a demented villain, and an Avenger. Not only were those things great, but so was the score. I'm pretty excited for whatever the sequel is to be titled, and I'm excited for when it comes out. It was extremely entertaining, and I found myself laughing quite a bit.
redkirbyhero I really hope they make a sequel. I think they will do it if the movie sells well. but at least we will have more ant-man for civil war and infinity war 1 and 2
Doge They are bringing in a new suit for Civil War, and a sequel will most likely be in order, even if it doesn't sell well. Which, let's be honest, it will, people will go see it just because it has that Marvel label on it. Unfortunately, the sequel won't be for a long time, as they've planned movies until 2019, so it may not be for another 4 years.
redkirbyhero Actually Marvel has plans for their vastly shared universe all the way until 2028, the only difference will be that we will have a completely different Avengers team than the original. However it will still be connected and hopefully having RDJ as the new director of SHIELD
***** Yeah I know, I actually completely forgot about the other movies somehow after 2019, haha xD. Since they're probably going to kill of Cap somehow, and since they're going to recruit all these new people like Spider-Man, Jean Grey, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, etc. They still have a huge story to tell. Though I doubt RDJ will be the director of shield ever. I fear his last movie in this Universe is Infinity War Part 2, as by 2019, he'll be 54. Of course, we'll still have Spider-Man. Also, like, dude, I know about all this stuff, I found out months ago about all this information, but with all the new info swirling about, it's hard to keep track.
***** Meh, I'm still not a big fan of Thor. But they sure did turn Captain America into a complete badass ALSO making him one of my favorite superheroes.

People give the DCEU and Hans Zimmer a ton of credit (well deserved) but I'll be damned if the MCU doesnt have great themes of their own that define their own characters. And this is one of them.
The MCU definitely has some great music. The problem is that they never use their main themes as much as they should, and that makes them forgettable. The only movie in the MCU that did it right was Guardians of the Galaxy. By far the most memorable theme song as far as I'm concerned.
@@runnerhigh I think Avengers, Guardians, Ant-Man, and Winter Soldier of all films had a great soundtrack. I also enjoy the new Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Black Panther themes.
Out of all of the MCU themes, this one is decidedly my favorite. Many of the others are interchangeable -- great pieces of music, but that could be used for any of a number of superheroes. This one is so well-tailored to the character: Bold and pulse-pounding, but evocative of a classic heist movie or spy thriller.
The only problem I had with this film was that the character Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket felt very rushed and wasn't a very great villain because of that; Corey Stoll did his best. Other than that the film was very good. I also hope in future marvel films Ant-Man will be able increase in size not only decrease. Oh and this is a really awesome theme for Ant-Man
Hopefully we get more villain time in future movies. And maybe, like he game of thrones creator said, villains that don't have the same power as the hero.
The Vision I agree, Marvel has shown they aren't really great with villains, Ultron and Ronan are good examples but the actors that played them were great (James Spader and Lee Pace). I also agree, Corey Stoll gave it his all :)
Spazzy Rik Ultron acted like a mechanical Loki. He's not a robot, he's an AI. He has no real body, no real form to destroy. All of his minions? ARE HIM. The Avengers are fighting between themselves constantly yet Ultron only trusts himself. He was more memorable at least. Also, Age of Ultron? These were 3 or 4 days. That's the long weekend of Ultron. He did nothing lasting. Also, Quicksilver died like that? Really? The guy who catched bullets mid-air before?
Christophe Beck is just fantastic.. Blending a heist/spy sound like Lalo Schifrin/John Barry.. with that undeniable Marvel Cinematic Universe sound in there too.. as it builds the theme becomes more like a marvel superhero theme from Alan Silvestri/Brian Tyler. Fantastic!
When Ant-Man came back from the Quantum Realm in the first film, I love how his theme was slowed down to make it sound heroic. THAT was satisfying to listen to!
Ant-Man: My days of breaking into places and stealing shit are over! What do you need me to do? Hank: I want you to break into a place and steal some shit.
Fools Pajamas Sometimes I wonder if it's a rights thing? Like when Paramount sold the film rights to Disney, but they still held the rights to the score? idk though
Fools Pajamas They've been doing well lately. Carried Tyler's Iron Man and Thor themes over into Age of Ultron, as well as Silvestri's Captain America, Avengers, and Helicarrier themes. Also, (SPOILER) Beck briefly used Silvestri's Avengers theme and Jackman's Falcon theme in Ant-Man. As well as the distinctive, electronic soundscape of the Winter Soldier during the after-credits scene (though not sure if he composed for that one).
A splendid piece from the fantastic composer of Frozen. This music is a tribute, in a very hard way, to those spy films like the firsts Bond or Mission Imposible tv series. With a little touch of Mancini's Pink Panther. Perfect sneaky tone at the begining for the thief principal charcater.
Second-best Stan Lee cameo ever, after the TASM scene in the library. Oh yeah, and the Age of Ultron scene, so, third-best I guess. But then there's Tony Stank...
Right, when Ant-Man was hitting the Avengers base. I remember in Winter Soldier the theme from the first Captain America briefly played during the jogging scene. It's a pity we don't hear any more of that theme; it is so awesome.
Yes it's Cap in the title and as the main character in the title but it's really an ensemble piece. I don't see why they didn't incorporate more pieces of the other heroes in there. Ant-man really stole the show (and the fight) with that "little" trick.
Fun fact, this song has a 7/4 time signature (at least, I'm pretty sure, I was in band but I'm not the best at music theory). Breaking it down simply: From the very start of the song, it starts with a 4/4 signature, changes to a 3/4 signature after the first four notes, and then goes right back to 4/4, then back to 3/4, etc. For simplicity's sake, 4/4 measures contain four notes and 3/4 measures contain 3. You can count these numbers out loud along with the notes, or where it feels natural to say "dun dun dun dun" and such. The bars are there to separate the 4/4 and 3/4 measures, and the time stamps I've listed below should line up with each measure so you can listen/count along. The time stamps won't be perfect as the notes don't line up perfectly at 1 second intervals) 1, 2, 3, 4 | 1, 2 and 3 | 1, 2, 3, 4 | 1, 2 and 3 0:00-0:01 | 0:01-0:02 | 0:03-0:04 | 0:04-0:05 The 'ands' are there for syncopation, those are the shorter notes you hear when there's two quick notes one after the other. Again, I'm probably not the most qualified to teach you about the specifics, I just thought it was a fun fact for people who might not know too much about music and might provide some insight as to why it's so darn catchy.
+Strawberry Toaster Strudel same here! It's a MUST. It's just awesome to see a glimpse into the future movies. I hate to see people leaving as soon as the movie ends at the theater. I'm like, "but...but...the mid-credits and end credits scenes though...nooo, don't miss this" XD
Ant man is the family oriented hero This song represents mothers and fathers, fighting to make the world a better place for their children covertly A song fitting, for those who fight for for all the little peanuts
The movie was really great. I personally like watching Ant-Man(and the Wasp), GOTG, Spider-Man and Avengers. They all put a smile on my face hahaha. The end credits scene shocked me like WOW! No wonder Ant-Man survived hahah. Can't wait for next year tho. Captain Marvel, Avengers then Spider-Man
+Christophe Beck It's actually one of the most fresh and original themes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So memorable and captures the tone of the movie so well
I think it's really neat that the song starts out really small, and then grows to be super huge and intimidating. Just like Ant-man himself.

I'm glad you noticed the heist part of the music, since Scott Lang started out as a theif
Cap help sonic swallowed me
The only problem I had with this film was that the character Darren Cross/Yellow Jacket felt very rushed and wasn't a very great villain because of that; Corey Stoll did his best. Other than that the film was very good. I also hope in future marvel films Ant-Man will be able increase in size not only decrease. Oh and this is a really awesome theme for Ant-Man
And we only got like, two scenes with yellow jacket
Hopefully we get more villain time in future movies. And maybe, like he game of thrones creator said, villains that don't have the same power as the hero.
Spazzy Rik The villian was a cliche like usual...
But the actor really was good in the role, I have to say.
The Vision
I agree, Marvel has shown they aren't really great with villains, Ultron and Ronan are good examples but the actors that played them were great (James Spader and Lee Pace).
Really? The guy who catched bullets mid-air before?
who could've imagined that a movie called Ant-Man has one of the best superhero themes of all time
This has been stuck in my head all weekend!
Fantastic!
This is one of the most iconic scores that fuse comedy and thriller.
Somewhere in Los Angeles the wasp 🐝 is looking for a soda
When Ant-Man came back from the Quantum Realm in the first film, I love how his theme was slowed down to make it sound heroic. THAT was satisfying to listen to!
I don't know why Ant-Man is such an underrated superhero, he's actually pretty fricken amazing.
+Julian Fletcher Don't know why either
Manuel Orozco ya guess the foreshadow of Mcu
Ant-Man: My days of breaking into places and stealing shit are over! What do you need me to do?
Hank: I want you to break into a place and steal some shit.
7 years and this theme still lives rent free in my head.
Couldn't get this theme out of my head for like a week after I saw the movie. So good
I forgot how sick this theme was.
I Forgor 💀
the most underrated marvel movie
Great score, I hate that Marvel bails on all of their great scores with sequels/future appearances, but hopefully they'll hold on to this one
+John Cunha The post credits scene is Henry Jackman.
***** Figured - thanks for clarifying!
+John Cunha Following that, they should play at least a hint of this in Civil War.
Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the 7/4 time signature?
It really gives it that mission impossible feel, since the mission impossible also uses an odd time and off balance signature, 5/4
"It was never just a heist!"
They kept this theme for Ant Man and the Wasp!
ruclips.net/video/EXf6q6FRZGU/видео.html
Very rare a sequel keeps its original score, props to Marvel
A splendid piece from the fantastic composer of Frozen.
This music is a tribute, in a very hard way, to those spy films like the firsts Bond or Mission Imposible tv series. With a little touch of Mancini's Pink Panther. Perfect sneaky tone at the begining for the thief principal charcater.
It also sounds to me to take a bit of inspiration from Adrian Belew's "E" in one progression.
I am sooo happy to hear the variations to this theme in the sequel! Loving the time signature use too!
The way they use this theme in Whatif is cool
Yes, dude! I miss this song in mcu movies
Had no idea who Ant Man was until the movie. Instant favorite and very impressive soundtrack!!
One of two memoriable themes in mcu
Baskin-Robbins always finds out.
Baskin-Robins don't play.
"You see the girl I'm with? She's crazy stupid fine right?"
'And the bartender's like, 'Yeah, crazy stupid fine!"
Second-best Stan Lee cameo ever, after the TASM scene in the library. Oh yeah, and the Age of Ultron scene, so, third-best I guess. But then there's Tony Stank...
Crazy stupid fine!
WHY WASN'T THIS USED IN CIVIL WAR ?
+Deadpoule Different composer, so it's probably a rights issue.
+CountBifford no beck used a bit of the avengers theme in antman
Right, when Ant-Man was hitting the Avengers base. I remember in Winter Soldier the theme from the first Captain America briefly played during the jogging scene. It's a pity we don't hear any more of that theme; it is so awesome.
Because it's Captain America not Ant-Man 2? Civil War score was pretty decent so there'd be no need for this song even if it's pretty good as well.
Yes it's Cap in the title and as the main character in the title but it's really an ensemble piece. I don't see why they didn't incorporate more pieces of the other heroes in there. Ant-man really stole the show (and the fight) with that "little" trick.

DC can't get Superman over, & Marvel get's people excited about Ant-Man... Fucking Ant-Man! This is a 1 sided rivalry if there ever was 1.
Seriously....you are so right.....way to flush the franchise by giving Batman to Ben Affleck.....he looked like a beached whale in JL
LMAOOOOOOOOOO
BRILLIANT work, sir.
Fun fact, this song has a 7/4 time signature (at least, I'm pretty sure, I was in band but I'm not the best at music theory).
Breaking it down simply:
From the very start of the song, it starts with a 4/4 signature, changes to a 3/4 signature after the first four notes, and then goes right back to 4/4, then back to 3/4, etc.
The time stamps won't be perfect as the notes don't line up perfectly at 1 second intervals)
1, 2, 3, 4 | 1, 2 and 3 | 1, 2, 3, 4 | 1, 2 and 3
0:00-0:01 | 0:01-0:02 | 0:03-0:04 | 0:04-0:05
The 'ands' are there for syncopation, those are the shorter notes you hear when there's two quick notes one after the other.
Again, I'm probably not the most qualified to teach you about the specifics, I just thought it was a fun fact for people who might not know too much about music and might provide some insight as to why it's so darn catchy.

"Can you dig it" is the music used in the credits for iron man three btw.

To me this theme stands out the most due to the 7/4 time signature. Good groove.
