    Remember no one has perfect symmetry. You can do the hoop and the stud or you can add a 3rd piercing to one side to help with the balance.

    Hey Gretchen! I would have taken out the newest one because I think it sits too low on your nose and repierce it at another shop 😊

    Leave them, put a hoop and a stud in and then also get high nostril piercings and wear a chain on there.

      I have the same problem. My 2 nostril piercing are not even. Redid one of them a second time. Still uneven. So I want 2 high nostrils, that hopefully will be even 🎉

    I think if it were me, I'd weigh out the pros and cons on the nose chain -- if I was reeeally really really set on the look and really wanted to wear it, I think I would take out the one that hasn't been taken out yet, let it heal over, and go for #2 on that side, just to avoid more scar tissue on the already double pierced side. I think the biggest question I'd have to ask myself would be even if I love the chain, how long I think I'd wear it for bc I am terrible with change and if I thought I would realistically only wear the chain a few times, I probably wouldn't go through the hassle. I also personally really love the one stud one hoop look!

    I would take the bad one out, go to a different shop and ask them to place the piercing almost on the spot of the first time you got it done. I like the placement of the one you wore the hoop in way better than the current placement of the new one. I went to an APP piercer for getting my nostril re-pierced. I hope there's one relatively close to where you live. Is Lynn Loheide nearby by any chance? They are a fantastic piercer. I feel so sorry for this horrible experience once again❤

    Oh man I’m so sorry it happened again, I don’t blame you I would cry too! At the very least I would keep the good side that you like most (the left one that has only been pierced once, I think that placement looks best too). Then I think I would take out the uneven, re-done side to let close and consider re-piercing later on.

    I commented way back when you asked in a video if you should get one re-pierced or not, but I’ll say it again 🤣 mine are uneven but I’ve learned to deal with it lol. I always wanted to do hoops in both, or two studs and a chain, but the angle is different. I didn’t want to deal with the healing process again, so a stud in one side and a hoop in the other has become my look 😂 I still love them regardless. You’re not alone!!!

    • @valliedollx
      @valliedollx 9 месяцев назад +1

      Right! Mine look fine as long as I have two studs in or a stud and a hoop, but because of the angle that they were pierced at, two hoops always looks WAY off!

  • @thechaospope

    At a glance, I don't see an issue with the current stud and hoop setup. It looks pretty good. When you put in the second stud on the left side it made the placement issue on the right WAY more obvious. I think that you're right and the original right piercing spot was a better location. I would talk with a piercer who is experienced with nostril piercings/chain setups and get their opinion; whether this is piercer A, B or C (new piercer) is kinda up to you but based on the placement of the right, I would avoid going back to B.

  • @lulib6372

    I was told recently when I went for my septum piercing, that it is almost impossible to get a second nostril that matches the one I already have if I were to want one. I think it is because of the time you have had the original, and the way your body heals each one very differently. At a guess I would say that trying to get them to match when they are healing with different jewellery at a different time, might always produce an unreliable result. There is also scar tissue in your nose now, which could effect things. Perhaps taking both out and getting two at once might work, or a double on one side single on the other keeping the one you like, it really depends on how many holes you are prepared to have in your nose. You could get rid of the one you don't like, keep the one you do, and get two differently placed nostrils for the chain.

    maybe u could try unusual shapes (triangles squares stars w/e) on the studs or just big studs or big gems to make up for the uneven space? to trick the perception basically. i do this with my multiple ear piercings cuz they're uneven. or repierce the higher one like u suggested. hoop stud combo would be the play if u wanna leave them alone

    I don’t know if the screen is flipped or how things are orientated once uploaded to RUclips. But personally I think that the placement of the right side nostril is better (the right side as in me looking directly at my screen, you would need to figure which one that correlates to in real life). I think the left side sits a little odd, like it doesn’t sit flat and so the jewellery doesn’t look flush to the skin. However, this is purely my opinion as you asked for it. Most importantly, do what makes you happy, it’s your body and your life. But as for my opinion as someone moderately to heavily pierced, I prefer the right. I left another comment explaining my own struggle with the very same issue, and for me the only way it got fixed way by adding high nostrils, somehow and I don’t know how, it made everything look totally even. If I take my high nostrils out for a day, my normal nostril piercings look totally out of whack again, it’s so weird.

    I’ve had this happen too, I have a double nose piercing on my right side that is perfect, and tried to match the left side, and I could never get them completely even. My left nostril has been pierced 4 times now. My 4 nose piercings aren’t perfect (no disrespect to the piercer) but I have still chosen to accept them, they are all the same height, but my left 2 are further forward. I completely understand where you’re coming from with this video

    What about a double on one side? May be able to do a chain that way. If you don’t like it you can always do the high nostrils and do the chain that way as well. Just make sure they are even. I’m also wondering why your nostril got pierced lower if it was already uneven the first time. I also don’t know if ppl have over done a chain from the septum to a nostril Peircing. I have no idea if it would look bad doing it that way though.

  • @nishapan1376
    @nishapan1376 9 месяцев назад +1

    If you like the placement of the left one, keep it! Also, what about taking out the right one and having an asymmetrical look? My nostril piercing seems a bit higher to the point that I don't know if a hoop will look good in mine, but it doesn't really matter because I plan to get my septum pierced and I don't want to wear a nostril hoop with it. Ultimately though, you do what you think is best, don't let the internet sway you.

    if i were in your position i’d embrace the assymetry! Maybe consider adding a 2nd nostril piercing to one side if your anatomy allows? but a hoop and a stud is not a bad look either!

  • @Izanamiiiii
    @Izanamiiiii 9 месяцев назад +1

    It actually sometimes is hard to pierce them exactly symmetrical! I had one nose piercing, wanted one on the other side, was not exactly symmetrical so i got another one next to it (so 3 nostrils) and that one was much better aligned with the other side. BUUUUT the piercer had to repierce it 3 times in the same sitting because every time the jewellery was in, it didn’t look as symmetrical as the marking earlier. Eventually I settled with the 3rd one and I love it! So I have 2 on one side and 1 on the other side.

  • @Livingded_grL

    3rd times the charm !!! i’ve had my right nostril pierced 3 times because of this exact reason, not being able to line them up “perfectly” how I want. if you give your nostril sufficient time to heal, it’ll close up that old piercing channel the longer you wait to get it repierced. also tip is wear a stud when you plan on getting the other side pierced if you aren’t already, hoops pull on your nose and sit differently so since it’s getting pierced with a stud, I find it lines up better in my experience !!! I also have a nose chain + high nostrils and I just think I was super fortunate because I never got any bumps or had problems with my high nostrils which I hear are notorious for being stubborn. either was it’s so worth it and you’d look so bad ass ! 🫶🏻

  • @EthanAlexander91
    @EthanAlexander91 9 месяцев назад +2

    Take pictures of your face (front and side profile) and mark EXACTLY where you want either side re-pierced in relation to the naked hole on the other side. Or you could even use a pair of $10 digital calipers to get the height and depth just right too, down to the millimeter. That way you can be certain of correct placement even if the jewelry styles are different. Then when you’re at the piercer, keep the other side naked and have them mark the healed piercing spot as well as the new spot you’re getting pierced in. Compare to your pictures or measurements and don’t be afraid to take a couple tries at getting it right!

    I do think you rock the hoop in one and stud in the other. They don't seem uneven that way. But it would limit your options for jewelry looks. That might get annoying in time. But you don't have to rush a decision. You have time to live with it and think about it. You can keep it for a while as is and anytime later decide you are ready to retire one and go for repiercing one side for symetry and wearing the chain.

    Plan B take out the re pierced one because I agree with you your right piercing looks more pleasing and nicer placement, the re pierced one looks out of place more so than the original one. Then get it re done somewhere new?

  • @DareToDazzle_Salon

    BROOOO! I'm in the SAME boat as you. I got BOTH of mine done at the same time, and I noticed the next day that they were uneven if I stared long enough, I decided it was because of swelling. Nope. They were uneven, not super noticeable unless you stared at my nose (I'm a nail tech, so clients are CONSTANTLY looking at my nose while I work, so it REALLY bothers me 😅). So, after a little over a year, I took the right nostril out and got it repierced at a different shop about 5 months later. BUT THEY'RE STILL UNEVEN. They repierced it in almost the exact same spot as the original piercing. Now, over a year later, I'm coming to the conclusion that I need to take the right nostril out AGAIN and get it done for a 3rd time, but be VERY uptight about placement. 😂😂
    I can forget about it for a short period, but I always come back to obsessing over it. I can't live like this 😂 I got them both done because I love the way it looks, but I also can't have just one side done, because then my face is asymmetrical. 😂
    So, personally, I'm going to redo my right one for the 3rd time, even though its not super noticable, and if I were you, I would try again. 😩 Obviously, it's your decision, and you're still GORGEOUS regardless, but I would not be okay with how they repierced it.
    Sorry for the long story. 😂😂

    Last year I got my second nostril pierced and when the piercer had me look at placement, I suggested it be moved just a little bit. She called in the other piercer and he swore it was perfectly placed. They know what they’re talking about, right? So I said ok and went with it. They are absolutely uneven. I’ve decided to just deal with it, and keep hoops in. I think you should do what feels right but honestly, if you keep the stud in one side and a hoop in the other, you can’t really tell! I’d hate to see you take both out. But you gotta do what you gotta do!🖤

    I think it's worth it to try and redo but go to a different shop this time. I was so worried about this when I was going for both nostrils look so I just had them both pierced at the same time which i know isnt something that makes sense for you. But imagine my surprise when my piercer pulled out a caliper and straight up measured my nose a dozen times. They got them perfectly even! Idk if it would be bad form to ask a piercer if that's something they do to get even piercings when it comes to nostrils maybe? Worth a shot I think!

    Honestly, I probably wouldn’t notice if you hadn’t pointed it out, but now that I really pay attention, you’re right, the one that you use a hoop in sits better on your nose than the stud, but could this be because of our naturally asymmetrical face?

  • @rachelknight5797
    @rachelknight5797 9 месяцев назад +1

    Haven't watched you in a while. What was the reason you took out the right one anyway? Was it the placement? Looks like the correct alignment would be in between both piercing holes, but I'm not a professional. I'd say take out the right one, wait for it to close and heal up (which I know is going to take a while cuz I took out my left nostril piercing because of the hypertrophic scarring it had and got it redone 3 months later. I don't recommend that, btw.) Also, the left side looks better than the right, as far as placement goes. Hope that helps :)

    Can you put jewelry in the original hole after taking a nice warm bath maybe with some oil or lube or something? I left an ear cartilage piercing out for like 2 yrs bc it was pissed off and when I got back into piercings was able to slowly wiggle jewelry back in after a warm bath. Also I like the high nostril idea. Def keep one on both sides

  • @thejupiterianalien
    @thejupiterianalien 7 месяцев назад

    The right placement looks better for studs and the left placement looks better for hoops but that's just my opinion. If you prefer the left, that's the better position for you since it's your body. While piercings are never the symmetrical, if it's right in the middle of your face and it does bother you, you're allowed to want it to look the way you want it to look.
    Should you give it one more shot, make sure you take your sweet time to ensure that the marking for the new hole is okay with you, you can even mark it before visiting the piercer or ask other people to look at the placement for you as well.

    Did you keep your hoop in on your left nostril when you repiereced your other one? I feel like it’s SO uneven because hoops make the nose piercing hole look lower, but my eyes totally bugged a little when you put that other stud in!! That is soooo frustrating!! People always say the most “correct” nostril piercing spot is in that sort of crease but mine is just pierced ON my nostril itself in the center and I love it, so I think it’s just down to personal preference. I personally like how your left nostril placement looks especially with the hoop in, but I’d for sure hesitate to re-pierced the other one a THIRD time!! I think you have to weigh out your jewelry options too. Will you always wear one stud/hoop? How does the crookedness look with 2 hoops? I agree with others here: get some high nostrils and rock the chain on those when they heal 😌 but of course only if you’re open to the idea of adding more to your nose.

  • @juliejigsaw
    @juliejigsaw 9 месяцев назад +1

    I'd get high nostrils above these with a nose chain then MAYBE if still unhappy with this stud/hoop combo would re-re-pierce the stud side. Wear a small stud on the hoop side to the appointment to confirm symmetrical placement. Find an APP piercer near you!

    When I got my 2nd nostril done, we spent a lot of time looking at the ink dot from every angle.
    I agree with others, you'd look great with high nostrils, but, that will draw more attention to the assemetry of the lower pair. I feel your newest one is too low. Go with the piercer with most experience.

  • @lesley3985
    @lesley3985 8 месяцев назад

    I think you should draw a central line down the middle of your face / nose and then a horizontal line from the line down to your favoured nose piercing, (so your left) then measure the distance, and copy this across to your other side symmetrically like a mirror image, then mark where a new hole should be made. Then you can have a good look that you are happy and the placement is correct . You look to me like you have a very even straight nose so it should work. Then once you know you can remove it all but the little cross and get them to do it there! Hope this makes sense. Third time lucky 🤞🏻

    If I were you I would take out the new one, let it heal and re pierce it. I have had my left nostril done 3 times now but I am happy with the placement and it looks symmetrical with my right one. If you do get it redone I would take out the one you are keeping at the appointment so they can line the holes up exactly, the hoop always makes it look lower than it is. Good luck, hope you get it sorted x

    I think you should keep the new one and redo the one with the hoop to match your new one and here's why in my opinion I think wearing a chain would look better lined up with your new piercing or just keep them both and wear hoops in one and stud in the other because your right really.vant tell that they are uneven. In my opinion still looks good like they currently are with the stud and hoop but also look good with a chain. Best of luck with your decision girl! 🙂🙂🙂💖

    BUT were it me: I would keep them both as they are now -and maybe this is too much- BUT I would do another on both sides. Put a stud in your original one, don't go in with a hoop IMO (I'm thinking maybe they can gauge where the original holes are better then??) Then definitely go to a different piercer and show 'em your current ones with studs in and explain you want another on your right side to put a chain across to your left one and then down the line maybe another behind your original left one just to even the whole look out!

Hope this helps but if i were you and the unevenness really bothered me i would take the left one out(right one on my screen) and get it redone (or just keep the one nostril) as i think it has a better placement. Another option is to just have the septum and philtrum piercings and fuck the nostrils as i think it would look good too. Regardless of what you do youll look beautiful anyways. Love your videos!

    I've had my one nostril done 3 times, first time because I had a bad piercer and the wrong kind of jewelry and it was just a whole mess. The second time I went to a better place and they were amazing but I ended up taking it out because I had a baby and I thought that she was going to pull on it. So then I got it done for a third time before I had my second child and he hasn't touched it. After a few years I went and got a second piercing on the other side because I did a Facebook marketplace deal and the lady said that she would hook me up and hook me up. I thought meant free piercing no, I had to pay $50 for it and that was ridiculous. It was so off and it felt like the lady didn't even know how to pierce like she was just learning. So I ended up taking out my new piercing on the other side and now I think I may want to go and get it pierced again. But I would go somewhere else and I'm hoping that they can make it even with the other original one. It was just so uneven.
    IMO I think you should get the one repierced for the third time because I feel the other looks way better.

    I would take out the right nostril stud and let it close. I think most people think their bodies are symmetrical, and they are not.
    I really like the small hoop in your left nostril, it’s very pretty.

    Also, maybe it would help them to line up better if you took out your septum just for the appointment and wore the smallest stud possible in the good side and maybe wear your glasses? They would probably have you remove your glasses, but they could use them as a guide, maybe??

    I just got my left nostril pierced today after almost a year having my right nostril pierced. It appears uneven; (my piercer said it’s most likely due to swelling). I switched my right jewelry to a hoop. I personally like the look of a hoop and a stud. I think you should keep the double nostril look and have a stud and a hoop ◡̈

    I would take the new one out, wait a few months and get it repierced at the old spot lol I think the old spot was symmetrical but because our faces aren’t really symmetrical it just gave the impression that it was crooked

    How frustrating!! Definitely take out the new one. It’s weirdly placed. I would have it repierced a third time. Third times a charm they say!

    No advice. But this video reassured me that it's ok to question the look of a piercing the same way I've been questioning my double helix. I've bought and changed the jewelry so many times and still, I'm not satisfied lol

    hey girl ❤ I would say to leave them. If I were you, I would probably go to a different shop and get the lower one pierced AGAIN ONE MORE TIME. And literally leave if they can't get the markings to look good to you. And if that third time doesn't work, high nostrils would be really cute. And get those done at a different shop too. It could honestly be your anatomy like you said, like maybe your nose isn't symmetrical, but it's not THAT drastic. Don't feel bad about crying, I would too.

    If you really want the nose chain, get it re-pierced using the original hole. OR say the heck with it and wear a hope on the one side and a stud on the other.

    First of all, I would go back and complain and demand my money back since they messed up the placement of the new piercing, then I would take out the new one and just leave the one in that you like.
    I feel like the new one sits too close to the edge of the nostril.

    Leave them do a hoop and do the other one stud I have a double nose piercing and mine are not even either, but I refuse to take them out. I did not pay all that money just let them go. I can’t do it, but it’s totally up to you. You do what you feel. It’s right for you. Good luck. Let me know what you decide, but I think the hoop in in the stud would be good. Choice.

    So sorry, Gretchen. If you really want to keep your dream of doing a nose chain connecting left and right nostril piercings, you will have to take one out and repierce it. It just depends on how much you are set on that look. But it sucks and I am sorry. For sure, if you ever do repierce one side to get them even, wear a stud on the other side to the appointment because that is the jewelry you will want to be wearing to match up.

    Poor you, what a shame! My piercer did my helix slightly off from where I wanted it and it still bugs me years later. I think the hoop and stud look great, have you tried a hoop in the new one? If it sits well two hoops would work nicely and might be less noticable. With the studs in I actually prefer the placement of the new one so if it was me I'd re-pierce the old one if I really wanted to wear two studs. Definitely at a different shop though!!

  • @frogs9468

    The best thing to do would be to remove the piercing again and get it redone. BUTTT, put a stud in the one that you like better (which would be the left) so they have a better time of lining them up!
    OR take both out and get them redone at the same time.

    I would take both out (or just the bad one) and go for high nostrils with a chain.
    Also I would go get my money back, the placement of the new one is just bad. I'm sorry.

    The only way I could find symmetry with my nostril piercings is by getting high nostril piercings in addition to my normal ones. I don’t know how or why, but it evened them out. I don’t understand it, but I’ll take it, as I tried so many times to let one close and re pierce etc etc. I wear a chain over my high nostrils sometimes, and even then everything still looks even. If I take out my high nostrils and wear my normal nostrils for a day, they look uneven as heck lol!

  • @kellypalma1160

    I think it’s worth asking…can you still get jewelry in the old one? I’d try to open that bad boy up and retire the new one. If you get rid of all 3 and get high nostrils, you’d be left with 3 holes there (unless you don’t care about that).

    • @kellypalma1160

    I don't think the scar tissue would be a problem because it will not all be in the same spot. But it depends on how visible the scars are to you and if that would bother you. With the camera and make up, we don't see the scars and you will be looking at them. I understand not wanting more scars and that is fine to say you are not going to make more scars on your face. It is your face.

    I know this is a month late, but all you’d have to do is have them move it closer to the top of your nose and they’d be just fine, it’s just moved to far to the middle of your nose

    This is why I don't do symmetrical styles. I had two eyebrow piercings and one was *slightly* off and it made me CRAZY. Unless my piercer is going to indulge my neurosis and literally fckin MEASURE both sides with a caliper, aint doing it.
