So funny how people hate on this tv, I own the S95d and it's amazing. Your really missing out. Contrast just as good as Lg cx, colours are dreamy, hdr premium pro amazing. Highlights really pop.
This TV is just garbage. One month with the S95D was enough to sell it again. The matte finish is the worst thing you can do to an OLED TV. It just looks washed out and the OCB is limited to only 40 Gbps, which means you get a black screen when you change the source. And there were increased crashes at 4k 144hz in gaming mode!
@@loopcx3761 👍👍
Thumbs up before i even watched the video just for the thumbnail 😆
What I dont like about matte screens is that blurry look in dark scenes, blacks looks soft and washed out, not as sharp as a glossy screen, I guess I'll have to look at it in person. Nice video B.
I was concerned about that before I bought it, but it's only visible in a very bright room with light shining directly on it. In a light controlled room or in the dark, the blacks are inky and sharp as any other OLED.
@rikachiu I guess is a new type of matte screen, LG has new Oled monitors using the same matte finish and they say it looks much better, I need to get my hands on them 😁
@@JoelsterG4k For sure, I kind of cringe a bit when ppl say it's matte. It is definitely not like your traditional PC monitor matte quality. Imagine a black page from a very high quality magazine textuture if that makes sense. When I am reading this text as I am responding to you using the dark theme on youtube, it looks like I am reading a magazine. It's so true to life.
I have been using OLEDs as my pc monitor a long time, and I also have a little too much RGB in my room/desk. The reflections were getting to me and the s95d solved all my problems.
if you watch the dark scenes in a dark room or light controlled room I promise you will have 0 issues with the screen vs another OLED.
@@TechWithKGexactly. So where is the point of matte right? Matte looks good in ambient light. For example in store where all light are so high and there are no direct reflections
I came for Jen and stayed for the TV.
Love the matte finish. I want this TV for my family living room with big windows.
Good video Brandon! Peeling the protective coating to reveal the new finish is a mind bending experience for sure. S95D is a special TV it feels like a true flagship OLED from Samsung where last year S95C felt kinda the same as a S90C but with a one connect box this year there is a big gap in picture quality jumping to S95D. I feel like you can't go wrong with either S95D or G4 this year. Samsung did a good job, as long as you are okay with the screen finish when I tested it in my environment I had 0 issues so I would definitely be fine with using one as a daily driver.
I DEFINITELY NEEDED TO HEAR , EXACTLY HOW YOU JUST PUT IT!!!!! BUT YET STILL, I GUESS IT JUST ISN'T STILL A CLEAR WINNER BETWEEN ( LG G4 AND SAMSUNG S95D !) STILL YET I GUESS???
@@michaelburton5198 LG G4 is the clear winner this year, it'll surpass Bravia 9 as well. Mark my words.
@@snaplash But that plastic is not at all comparable to the finish on Samsung's "glossy" displays which still handle reflections very well.
77 or 83 look so uneven when walking by and the reflections bending. almost bought g4 after deep diving reddit but in the store it looked so cheap. the s95d made that effect just disappear. actually this made my decision. the cable box, q symphony also on pro side
The matte finish is fine. People will see what they want to see. Looking forward to the Bravia 9 review and comparison to other LEDs and OLEDs
Yes it's fine, have a few friends that prefer matte finish on their computer screens. I prefer glossy, except for a couple of hours of the day time on Saturday and Sunday. Just pull your curtains shut.
@@michael-4k4000 yep - I prefer glossy, but there is one TV in my house I plan to switch to matte. Certain light environments are better with matte and certain ones better with glossy
The Bravia 9 imo is the best TV I have seen this year, but I am buying a S95D because that’s my price range
@@TRD86X where did u see the B9? My local Best BUY doesn't have any new sonys yet.
I work for a retailer in Australia and had training on TVs last month. All this years TVs were there including the B8 and B9
Greatest OLED TV in human history.... Congratulations Samsung!
De la humanidad con. Defectos en los tonos negros??
Really aesthetically pleasing. Has a slim frame with a decent back. Looks really good from any angle. TV's not so bad either 😋
Just pairing my s90c with q700c soundbar last week... Amazing
Jen has a great sense of humor.
I picked one s95c 77 for 1600 after taxes on my local best buy. Love it.
I'm currently looking for a deal like that
@@Gamesdmc3theres no deal like that anywhere. That's complete bs.
@@Hardwaretuned it's possible, especially from a place going out of business.Conns is one large retailer that sales Tv's & currently going out of business.could have been open box etc etc..... I saw a Samsung bespoke 2024 all in 1 washer/dryer that retails for $3,299 (before taxes) at Costco for $1275.00 .all because it was the last one they had left (display model)
And at Costco,a lil secret is that if the price ends in .00 that means it was marked down by the manager & that's the lowest price possible it will be offered at.....I just went to a bel furniture today that's having a moving sale (aka closing) everything must go & they had crazy discounted deals inside of there

Very revealing moment….literally. When she pulls the plastic you can see exactly the glossy/matte difference!
I like the samsung remote. Simple and clean. I wish remotes came with a lock switch on them... we always sit on it and turn off movies by mistake...
The power button needs to be recessed in the next redesign. I also wish there was an input button
@@urbansouljah1 one downside of Samsung remote is it feels same bottom up. Many a time I happen to press amazon prime button while I think I'm pressing return/back button
I will be getting a new tv son enough and the G4 and S95B are in the mix. I do plenty of reviewing and this matte screen (anti-reflection) is a massive point of argument amongst those TV fans in the ‘know’.
It’s weird though. If I were designing a mirror I would want a highly reflective surface to display as much image as possible. If I were designing a tv I would want the exact opposite. No reflection at all. At the moment this technology is probably first generation and if it is able to take off will better and better with less and less blurring of the light. It seems a step forward rather than just chasing brightness.
Agree so far. It’s being made a thing when it really isn’t for 99.9% of people
Excellent review. When I first got my s95d I was like hell no. Once I got over the initial shock, I quickly discovered that its benefits for my bright room outweighed the cons.
what were the cons you noticed that gave you the initial shock?
@@Sas-wk9lj it looked different. Didn’t have that shine I was accustomed to. In practice it became a different story.
We would also like a video of the hidden wires of HT-A9 . We know that it's a simple job, but we would like to know how you did it. Thanks. Great content, keep them coming!
I still watch OTA-TV. If there is anything that changes because I don't use streaming services
or cable......and you have time......please consider including that info also.
My choice was between G4 and S95D. But couldn’t get G4 with a stand. So S95D 55 it is. Getting it next week.
I was shocked that matt finish emerged me more in to the content in TV when i saw that in person. However i will buy glossy OLED because Im still want to experience more contrast content picture quality from movies...
Bravia 9 asap feller 😮😊 your Matt ,,,Jen is shiny….was the outfits planned 😂
Agree!
What’s the other tv
Not all room environments need the help of a matte finish. So, it's good that Samsung gives those that do need or want it - Options!
There is a « Peak Brightness » setting in the image expert settings, would you leave it « off », « on » or « high » ?
Jen your amazing looking woman and telly not bad either
you guys are such a great team!
I thought it was just gonna be another great B vid.....ho hum? But then Jen showed up..........epic!!! 🙌🙌 Vanna White has nothing on Jen.
I think all these Oled TV's have similar performance, so the 'difference' is really just in the apps, connectivity & features.
I generally agee, and I own the S95D myself, also in 77"...but I don't get the Motion settings. I had them on Auto for a bit, but got interpolation artifacts in some scenes, then tried setting manually, but I have to set the Judder reduction quite high to get a smooth image. I tried "5" but that was still juddery, so I set it back to Auto for now. I don't know where the sweet spot is yet, but on "2" it would be unwatchable for me.
Can I please be the arrow on the left side on the thumbnail next time.🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣
No matter how, glossy finish make picture look high end and high contrast especially in dark scene.
disagree: 77 or 83 look so uneven when walking by and the reflections bending. almost bought g4 after deep diving reddit but in the store it looked so cheap. the s95d made that effect just disappear. actually this made my decision.
What it comes down to is this: If money is no object get the S95D. The matte finish is to die for. You don't view real life with a glossy finish over it. Samsung only has a 1 year warranty on their TV's. That's unacceptable for the amount of money you're spending on something that is only supposed to do one thing (not burn in).
If you're not rich, want a better mounting system, and a 5-year warranty (for free from LG, years 2-5 you pay ~$300 to replace panel) you go LG G series hands down.
With the S95D and practically no warranty at all you're better off just waiting and buying one second hand on marketplace when it pops up.
The two end foam pieces you took away should be used at the ends to stabilise the TV whilst putting on the stand…..that way you don’t have to stand there holding it upright.
That is right. I remember doing that on other QD-OLED. Maybe I should look at what I said is the instructions instead of just telling people they are there.

Can I please get a link to the fireplace? Thank you, Ive been looking for one that same size.
I for one that used to be in the ‘No Dolby Vision, no purchase for me’ camp. However, not all DV presentations are equal and a good HDR presentation would look great on this tele.
I’m no Samsung fan but I’m not going to dismiss this tele when I upgrade my LG CX OLED this year. Is having no DV going to reduce my viewing experience as some of my favourite discs don’t have DV and they look fantastic.
HDR 10+ looks so good it's ridiculous there is not more of it. It's been explained before from other reviewers (FOMO, for one) that DV isn't much better than HDR 10, and on tvs and some content, sometimes worse.
@@charlesmyers8150 some of my favourite discs, like the Jurassic Park/World movies aren’t encoded in DV and look fabulous in 4K.
I’m not necessarily going to get held up by DV as it doesn’t affect my fun in watching movies. Indeed, it also depends on my mood and how I want to watch my movies.
Nice video keep up the good work B the Installer can you review the DU9000 98 inch
Hi
I would like you to help me decide which tv to buy. Could you rank these in the order you would recommend. A95L, Bravia9 Samsung 900D (just in case have wrong 8K 2024 model)
Money is not an objective. Just want a good tv for streaming and sports. Wonder about the 8K upscaling vs Sony back light improvements
Hi!
Is the Samsung S95D suitable for watching exclusively cable TV channels with many subtitles, logos or news channels, about 6 hours a day?
Definitely not ...Not only Because of Burn in but also Because Of The Content ur gonna watch. OLED Won't make Such Difference than a Normal LED or QLED.
Great job, Thanks.
Now about TV itself. I like Samsung but his new center stand design isn't good especially when you have 24"-36" wide and 7-8" high C.Channel Spaker with Home Theater setup.
And second, I'm not a fan of OLED TV's, burn in problems gonna get you sooner or later and they have problem with DOLBY VISION videos.
Very cool Video very nice and beautyfull Samsung Qd Oled or ?? B the installer who television hold the crown from this year?? Do you testing a panasonic Oled this year ? I am exited to see what tv you and jen testing :).
What about Burnin on this TV for gaming ? Should I go Bravia 9 Thanks 🙏

Can I install the tv stand the same on the 65 inch?
Excellent review
Sir, are you saying that the sound is worse then the S95B (first QD-OLED) ?
Should have a glass panel option, matte no matter what features they have always degrades color and picture.
That is absolutely not true. I've seen it in person and it actually blends the pixel better so individual RGB pixels do not look too crisp and the color fringing is lower because of this. I would in no way buy a gloss finish display, not just for the bright environments, but for dark too. I hate the gloss because no matter what, if you sit at working distance from it, since I'm using one as a computer monitor, it will show you a reflection of yourself in the dark areas that is hugely distracting. Mate it is for me!
I think the matte finish is worth it to look at but the matte finish coating would be very expensive in repair work, I would consider the normal OLED with standard glass I can live with the reflection.
Man the only thing keeping me from buying this tv is the size. I really wanted a 98 inch or at least an 85 inch oled from samsung but still nothing 😤
Hey B The Installer I have a Oneplus tv how I set 4k resolution in setting? Can you comment me here?

First Samsung has a matte finish closely flowered by Apple with there new iPad Pro
Apple has had a matte type of finish on older MacBook pro models. They used to charge extra of course.

@@BTheInstaller There is already tons of videos about don't think there really is a need. Love your channel though, just don't think Samsung deserves any kind of attention.
The matte finish sucks... Go ask Vincent Teoh... It makes the screen look dull and hazy and it loses detail, saturation, and blacks.
Why ask someone? And who knows whether they're lying about it with their personal agenda to sell other brand TVs? Why don't you do some community service by purchasing the TV yourself and make a video about the matte sceen and its flaws, dude?

BEST TV..
Love Samsung products but anyone who watches Blu-rays with an attached soundbar should go for an LG or Sony as Samsung doesn't do DTS passthrough. :(
I connect my dts source (nvidia shield and Panasonic ub820) straight to my soundbar and atv4k which doesn’t do dts and my consoles which don’t need dts are connected straight to the tv.
@@SD71232 Exactly this. Connect your DTS sources to your soundbar or receiver
You are lucky to have Jen do so much helping you set up these large tvs! Probably most women wouldn't touch it. Unboxing and set up is my least favorite part of new tvs, and here you both are doing it so often. But you get the absolute best tvs so that's worth it.
Would love to know all his TV settings.
That rear end, just saying.
Hey B and Jenn😊😊
Good review. Good to know it performed similar to LG M3 in picture upscaling. What was not clear though how it compared to Sony A95L in terms of low bit rate processing and upscaling.
I have the Bravia 7 in the house now and the Sony seems better at processing but again, it's the source most often. If you have hdr or gaming, it's amazing. If it'd 720, they all look mid
@@BTheInstaller Thanks, you're the first to debunk the myth that no matter how substandard the source content quality is, Sony's processing is next to none.
I was also in that small group of customers who thought they all look mediocre for low quality content.
Appreciate your honest opinion, love watching your installation videos.
Put on a high reflective scene that has a lot of reflective parts and you will see why matte is not as good as a reflective surface. Matte finishes should be left for pc screens, not tvs.
