Reminds me of my dad driving in the car listening to this when I was in the front seat with him I was 7-8. He would sing this song and have it loud and I only thought it was just a song. At 8 my parents split. The older I got I forgot about the song I forgot it existed along with slipknot. It was u til last year I started listening to slipknot again I remembered them because of physiological and I told my mom about that song one day. Then she played this song and then all the memories flooded back and I started sobbing. It hurt that my dad didn't see me like every other weekend. I told my dad about the song and he was like "yeah that's a good song" I told him everytime I hear it I cry but I don't tell him the reason. Me and him get along really well now but this song will always have a soft spot for me.

You should tell your dad. Open up about how you feel. Sometimes as parents we get caught up in everyday life. I make it a priority to sit with my daughter as often as possible to talk about life,friendships,boys any and everything.

yes this song perfectly sums up the agony of someone you used to deeply love and care for being totally absent from your life. it creates a hole in your chest and you can fool yourself into thinking you're fine...for a while...until the pain hits again when you're alone and the tears start flowing. it especially hurts when you know they've moved on without you and don't care about you the way you do them. indescribable pain...every new relationship you have with some new girl will be almost meaningless because you still love that one person. it's happened to me more times than i can count in my life..i'm honestly surprised i'm even still alive and haven't offed myself yet.

I listen to music whenever I play video games. This song, particularly this version, always comes up when I play a mod for Hearts of Iron 4 called The New Order. I just finished Heydrich’s path for Germany. If you do not want spoilers, do not read the rest of this.
If Heydrich is able to lead his forces to victory against Himmler, he quickly spirals into drinking and depression before finally taking his own life not long after his victory. This causes a third German civil war which then leads to anarchy in Germany as any semblance of government totally collapses. States go dark one by one. Many people interpret this as those that tried to take power completely losing their hold. I interpret this as Germany unleashing it’s nuclear arsenal on itself in a twisted irony of Himmler’s plans to cause a nuclear apocalypse. There are no events to support this other than the “Thermonuclear War” which has states go dark in waves, similar to how they do in the third German Civil War.
While listening to this song, I can imagine a German soldier, affiliation, age, gender, sex, doesn’t matter. This soldier comes out of a bunker after the bombs stop falling to see their world in ruins, collapsing to the ground as they realize all the bloodshed was for nothing. The fatherland was destroyed by those that sought to rule it, all that’s left now is to survive.
