    For the lock on solds, you have to enable the locks first. To do that scroll all the way to the bottom and click on customize and "Lockable Filters" has to be turned on.

    I was on ebay for 23 years and so was my sister. We figured out that ebay was too big for its britches. To fix this they must have let different servers be on top for a while. If you can figure out the rhythm you can end and sell similar to get off the server you were on and it will relist on the favorite server for that time. It worked for us. Just a thought about what goes on.

    I relisted some college textbooks and that helped on a few sales. So if you have textbooks now may be a great time to relist them. Thanks for all the content!

    Shipping is still one of the hardest things to get right on eBay, The rules are constantly changing.

    This Summer in San Diego the garage sales have been terrible. If it wasn’t for some good FBM finds I would not have much to list. Just bought 172 pairs of sunglasses for $3.50 a pair and they sell on eBay for 6-10x. So that helps. They sell pretty steady. 10+ a week or so.

    I don’t think death piles are that bad. What about when everything at the thrift stores was priced cheaper before inflation? What about when everything shut down during Covid. I wish I had a bigger death pile of all that stuff. As long as you keep listing *something* consistently I think it’s good to have a backup pile.

    It should be noted that if a seller uses calculated shipping where the buyer pays, don't change whatever shipping method they chose! It will get you an INAD in two shakes of a puppy's tail!! Hope mama gets better soon 🙏

      Not true. As long as the item is shipped within the allotted timeframe and the service is equivalent or better (estimated arrival date is same or sooner) you’re good to go. Sometimes two equal services are priced vastly different. If I find one that’s considerably lower I take advantage of it and refund the overpayment to the buyer. I’ve yet to have a buyer complain about it.

    I've always been told that ebay deem any items that are older than 3 months as stagnant and then throttle the views on them making them less likely to sell. That is why I end them before they tick over into the 3rd month.

    You mentioned the Hills from UK a video or two ago and they have a video from this summer where they tell about discussion with eBay management in UK and they got confirmation from eBay that end listing and sell similar really works.

    I'm not sure ending and selling similar has a big effect under normal circumstances. I think where the benefit comes from is for people with stale stock (maybe items that have been listed for many months or even years). There's been a lot of suggestions that this may have an impact on both those listings and on your store, and ending the listing and selling similar helps those metrics. Whether this is true or not is hard to say, but I suspect something like this is why some people notice a large impact from doing so and some have almost no change.

    • @patland1762
      @patland1762 2 месяца назад

      Simply look at your impressions metric after doing end/sell similar on a good number of listings and you will see the effect in a day. As you say if a listing is fresh it may not make a difference.

    I wonder what reason you choose when you end and sell similar? Or are there more ways to end a listing that doesn’t make you choose a reason?

    • @patland1762
      @patland1762 2 месяца назад

      Do it in bulk, ie on a group of listings at the same time, from your active listings screen and you will not be prompted for a reason.

    Thank you for your videos. They have been super helpful. I do have a question. Is there a chart or visual cue where I can know the best way to sell an item. I hear it's easy to sell, then I listen to the process and get lost. Maybe I'm just better at visually understanding what shipping is best for size/dimensions. Ready to start my eBay store once I understand this aspect of reselling. Thank you

    Sell Similar: I End and Re-list my oldest listings as well, but not on a schedule. It's interesting to see how my oldest listings have outdated comp prices sometimes, the occasional typo or could use a few "tweaks" to make them look like my newer listings. From my laptop, I normally select Re-list rather then Sell Similar, since both give the listing new eBay numbers. Why the preference for one (Sell Similar), rather then the other?

    I may have missed it, but has USPS stopped charging the extra $14 for anything over 22 inches in length?

    • @ThriftyVet-iv8vc
      @ThriftyVet-iv8vc 2 месяца назад

      No, it was never that high for exceeding JUST 22 Inches (it was 4.00) unless you exceeded 30 Inches it was $15 when originally implemented. There is still a NonStandard Fee but it is only $4.00 for exceeding 22 Inches (depending on service used) and either $18 (Priority) or $8.40 (GA) for exceeding 30 Inches (fee is based on Service used as well).

    Lonnie, I believe I have found a more efficient way of delisting old listings. If there is a way that you can sort the oldest listings on the app (I haven’t checked yet) then you can simply end it easily on your phone and it asks if you would like to relist. Then you can change the title and immediately relist. Just what I used recently. An alternative would also be to pull up oldest on your phone and keyword search on the app to end it on the app. Thanks!

      @@jillybean651 That's NOT true...Relist also provides a new number and is considered a new listing as well. You can't manually Relist an item without ending it. Many Sellers prefer Relist over Sell Similar, because a Relist will notify your WATCHERS the item has been Relisted. What you are talking about is a Good Til Cancelled Renew which eBay does automatically for us. Easy enough to verify yourself.

    • @williampeterson4416
      @williampeterson4416 2 месяца назад

      Relisting is not the same as selling similar. Selling similar gets it a brand new item # and is treated as a new listing by the algorithm.
