Hey brother, it was great spending all that time with you at the bash. I really look forward to meeting up with you again soon. Thanks for the shoutout too 😊💪
Hey Rick -- Just a little update re: DCT for 2024 -- I asked the same type of questions to the GM Engineer responsible for the DCT at the BASH -- He stated the identical answer but he also added these 2 important facts. 1. for the last part of 2023 Yr and 2024 they changed the Transmission case because of many reasons - mainly due because of the draining and the fluid pickups - They also added or increased the fluid fill and addition of 0.6 Qt. of fluid. 2. If by some chance - you have added the 2 extra quarts of fluid - thinking that you still needed it - No Issue -- As these cases are only about 1/2 full to begin with. If the extra fluid is in there - no need to drain it. When you do the big service at 45k miles you can safely just replace the std amount of DCT fluid without worry,. 3. Finally -- As with the new Tech / Service Bulletin re: Transmission / DCT with incorrect Torque spec's -- GM will send out letter to those VIN;s effected -- Then you can schedule Service. Again -- This is direct from the GM Engineer responsible for the DCT.
Great job corralling Josh and getting 'the' answer on the 2L question. Love hearing from the engineers who not only provide the definitive answer but also the whys and wherefores.
Awesome info…I wonder if Josh might become the next head Corvette engineer?🤷♂️ He has the disposition that would suit him well in that role not to mention the knowledge and experience! I like that yellow Z06 💛💛💛
Accelerate yellow ZO6 that Chuck is working on is looking fabulous. GM Chevrolet is on their game with the C8 especially trusting the brand when customers track or run the quarter mile.
Super show! Great information and a great move to give 3 years of 7500 miles and I like the +\- of 500 miles of 7500. That is correct isn’t it? I’m ready to see the 2025 yellow on a car. I bet it looks great ! Thank you both for squeezing in an episode tonight! Have a great week!
12:57 shocking update to say that you really don’t need to add the extra transmission fluid even back in the 2020 model year except for extreme extreme conditions. It almost sounds like they would suggest not doing it at all.
I would like to know how the warranty decision decides what is extreme.? Weekly tracking, once a year tracking, autocross, top speeds etc. it all so subjective.
Nice to see GM change the 1st Service to 3 years but to be honest most Corvette owners over service the vehicle (like you Rick) so many will still change the transmission filter in the first year or two. As far as rotating the tires every 7500 miles the better why is to check the treadwear on all four and if they are wearing evenly absolutely zero need or reason to rotate the tires side to side.
Nice update. Didnt realize the grill guards were dealer installed when ordered from the factory. How long does it take on average to remove the bumper and install on the Z06?
Rick- two dealers have told me they can’t rotate my 2020 C8 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season ZP tires. Said they’re directional. What’s correct? Thanks, Hal-AL
Since Rick failed to give you a proper answer - please allow me. Rotate your tires side to side. Side Side Obviously they are a staggered setup _and_ directional. Therefore, logic dictates only one possible scenario. Yes, that means they need to be remounted but don't let the Service Advisor tell you otherwise. They work for *_YOU_* after all - not the other way around! Stay classy my friend.
What exactly do the do when you get your transmission flush , do they change the pan filter and canister filter at the same time. I contacted 4 dealers and got 4 different answers.
So wandering minds wish to know - is that new case related at all to the heldout cars last year and/or the latest recall for some cars improperly torqued?
OK now that we have this statement from Josh about adding or the lack of adding the extra fluid, can we now concentrate on a proper Tech Tuesday and not any more TRANS TUESDAY talk. Lol...🤔🤣
Why are you having noise issues on practically a new car? It’s not like your C8 is old or your tracking it constantly. Chevy needs to get their 💩 together. Will they have the DCT problem on the 2025 C8s as well?

Glad to hear info from the horses mouth. You have a knack for getting the right info.
Thanks, guys. Always a great day for information about our cars. Sunday's vlog should be a beauty.

Great meeting you at the bash ! Thanks for the hat !

I was wondering about the 3 year transmission flush and filter changes also. I'll stay tuned for the definitive answer!! 😂

Yes.

Thank you sir! Appreciate you getting the straight answer for us I wanted to take my 24 to the track and wasn’t sure if I should add the extra oil
Good evening Rick!
Finally, Thank you for all you do! 💙💙🧜♀️

Rick IS THERE A 2024 Dealer Brochure available or was 2023 the Last of the “ paper “ brochures?
Once a again great 👍 tech Tuesday
How do you rotate your tires when the offset on the front tires is different than the rear tires (including the sizes)?😊
Thx Rick! I “can’t wait” to drive my C8 Every Day‼️. 🩶C8
Tech Time on Tuesday
Rick!!!!!!!!
How do you rotate your tires if the tires are “staggered fitment!?”
Let alone if the tires are “directional!?”
fronts side to side, same for back
Good to know... cheers
Rick- two dealers have told me they can’t rotate my 2020 C8 Michelin Pilot Sport All Season ZP tires. Said they’re directional. What’s correct? Thanks, Hal-AL
Sorry man they are wrong
Since Rick failed to give you a proper answer - please allow me.
Rotate your tires side to side.
Side Side

Would love to know where the high wing on the yellow z came from. I ordered a 24 and of course it was NOT available -_-
Maybe I missed it, but the transmission fluid is supposed to be changed every 3 years or 45k miles isn’t it?
yes....as of now, yes
Hint, fast forward to 11:00 if you care about the title of this video.
Rick with the pads do you have any clacking switching from drive and to reverse? I haven’t heard anyone complain.
What exactly do the do when you get your transmission flush , do they change the pan filter and canister filter at the same time. I contacted 4 dealers and got 4 different answers.
@@robertlagoy3445 stay tuned I did it on my 2021 and will be soon on my 2023
@@RickCorvetteConti I’m very interested in see that process.
So wandering minds wish to know - is that new case related at all to the heldout cars last year and/or the latest recall for some cars improperly torqued?
Is rotating the tire really matter just going side to side.
My 2024 c8 stingray no need to add 2 quarts?
How necessary are the grill guards?
I feel VERY much so, IMHO
What’s the name of the song playing
So is this why some 23 and 24 c8s have total transmission replacements?
OK now that we have this statement from Josh about adding or the lack of adding the extra fluid, can we now concentrate on a proper Tech Tuesday and not any more TRANS TUESDAY talk. Lol...🤔🤣
Realize how people don't drive there cars so drive it when you're dead
