(for the singlecut Gretsch) Dynasonics are a single coil style pickup.
The thing about a surf bass is, you really have to see it in line with the surf guitars.

Nice to see more than one with Dynasonics, but there was definitely a shortage of the newer Gretsch models and finishes with their P-90s.

The Gretsch has DeArmond pickups, which are single-coils
Since I saw the first Meteora with the Tele configuration and block inlays, I've thought it would be an ultimate surf guitar if it had a wiggler.

Dick Dale played Fender acoustics. The Jazzmaster Acoustasonic has settings that don’t use the humbucker. You could put a Virtual Jeff on it. Therefore, I call it a surf guitar. 😁
One of my favorite guitars (that I don't own) of recent issue is the Epiphone Crestwood which you did acknowledge as a "Surf" guitar. Going by the strict criteria it juuuust makes it, with two out of three.
But you were right on the money to call out the "Vibe" it gives off. Lots of throwback emotions in Epi's reissue of it's first ever solid body electric. I can already imagine and hear "Let's Go Trippin" coming off that git!
The rest of the video was also cool and I'm really glad that the "Surf Bass" has entered the conversation.

I am the original owner of a 1964 Firebird III. Surfy shape, wiggle stick... minihumbuckers. Fits the criteria.

Dick Dale never used the whammy bar on his Strat.

I think those are soap bar pickups. Like P-90's except not P-90's. But I could be wrong. But yes, soap bars are a kind of single coil but they're very hot and don't have that crisp clean sound. They're often favored by punk guitarists but that's certainly not exclusive. So, I would say personally, that doesn't count. That's just not the surfy sound.
I was hoping you were going to talk about that Danelectro Jimmy Page as they're often called. The 59 but in blue. Single coil but is that a surfy shape? I think it is. And it's nice to know that my split coil SG with a Bigsby is technically a surf guitar. 2 Points, the maximum so it's close. But it just skated in under the wire.

The Ventures and Beach Boys played Precision Bass, so that is definitely a Surf Bass.
Well i have a Mustang that’s 3 for 3, and so a 60 Cycle Hum approved surfy guitar.
It would be what I used if I were part of a surf band.

I guess my G&L Ascari GT-90 is surfy (strat shape (though set neck, not bolt on), two P-90s, no wiggle stick.) They only came in tobacco-burst, oddly it’s a 3x3 black headstock with an all mahogany body and neck. It’s pretty much a strat-shaped Les Paul Special made surfy.
Someone please ask Danelectro why all of their basses are in black and copper. I would like the other colors too.

Very fun! But you let too many modern guitars slip by as surf guitars. No EVH, PRS or Ibanez! No humbucker in the bridge, unless splitable. No Strats unless gold sparkle, sunburst or white, LOL.

Bindo Dundid's criteria for a surf guitar; 1. surfy colour, 2. ALL single coils. It needs to meet both 2/2. That's it. I have a surf green tele I made with a jazzmaster neck pup, it's certainly a surf guitar. More so than every red hss superstrat that fit this terrible criteria.

I think you are widening your standard too much in accepting SURF GUITARS ….I think the Gretsch’s are HOT ROD guitars as defined by Eddie Cochran and Brian Setzer …you need more solid body funky picks…ala JAGUAR style …
