I have 2018 SU pro but it lacks outliner. I don't recall making any components, but when I make a change in one scene - it appears in another scene - as if the whole model is a big component. How do I find them? If I look in model info it says there are 21component instances but not what or where they are.
Thanks Matt! Very helpful tips. I usually learn several things from your videos. I’m really enjoying your book you wrote with Nick Sonders, too! A question: Did MiTek supply you with the detail framing plans, and if so, is this a standard practice to share with designers, architects, etc?
Another great video Matt. I still I fail to understand that after years and years of SketchUp releases we still can't find components by typing the name in the component tray "in model". We can search the 3D warehouse - great but why not my own model? Though that would be solved with 2020 and tag but alas. Or did I miss something?
Nothing has changed. You can search for component definitions embedded in your model in the components panel "in model" collection, but that doesn't help you find their instances in the model.
@@Mastersketchup Exactly. The only way to find components by name, is in my experience by typing into the filter window of the outliner. I never searched the outliner before so that kind of answered my own question, thanks for the inspiration from another of your videos- just remembered. That kind of does the trick if you want to find and reload something but feels a bit complicated and I feel that should be possible through the component tray.
