We had to carry another RB. Pacheco runs so violently he's always banged up and CEH is always injured. We could very well have a game or two this season with just Steele and Perine available.

I like Perine a heck of a lot better than CEH. Perine has some size and does just about everything CEH does but better. He is a seasoned guy who breaks tackles. Great receiver and way better blocker than CEH.
LRZ replacing the Jaguars IPP player who broke his ankle. It was TE Patrick Murtagh from Australia who was at the same IPP program LRZ was on. Sad thing i think for chiefs is all new overseas fans following chiefs because of LRZ may leave and stsrt following Jaguars.

It was never going to be as a running back - that decision finished his chiefs journey before it even began. There are positions in rugby similar to RB and no way in hell would any rugby coach put LRZ in those positions.

What many rugby people like myself don't yet understand is why all 32 NFL teams don't have their own development pathway program like happens with all rugby clubs, even international rugby countries national teams have development squads, they have juniors, under 18's, under 21's , before moving into seniors. I get you have the US college system and rely purely on that but so many talented players will still slip through the system of getting drafted into the NFL and never play pro football where if there were more player pathway programs like the one LRZ went on many more players could be given a lifeline and more opportunity.

Forgot to mention that Samaje got at least one angry run scepter from GMFB and was nominated at least twice in 1 season when Mixon was injured (it was 2021 or prob 2022). Also, Samaje was a beast 1 on 1 against Micah Parsons week 2 in 2022 at the end of the game... Micah had destroyed our OL and Burrow all game and Perine clamped him 1on1 and looked like our best OL. Always love for Samaje!
I hated Perine when he was with the Bengals because of how much he destroyed us. As a matter of fact, every time we faced this guy, our defense had a much tougher time with him then they did Joe Mixon. I'm honestly surprised he wasn't RB1 there because he absolutely should have been. I'm psyched he's on our side, though, and hopefully, he can be a good replacement for Jerrick Mckinnon.
I loved McKinnon. Never let us down. Perine will be a lot better for us I think. Running backs have to be one of the toughest guys on the team. Perine is definitely tough. As a former linebacker I have a back alley test for running backs. Would I want to meet him coming at me at full speed in a back alley? Perine? No, make that Hell No.

I love Perine. He can take hits, is a very physical runner, can shrug off tackles and is extremly good at catching and blocking. Pacheco, Perine, Steel.... Jeez they gonna bulldoze other teams. compare that with elite speed at WR and actual good hands in Rice, Worthy, Hollywood and Juju (who is also very strong WR) + most trusted hands off all, Kelce. This season looks very promising... i dont wanna get my hype up because its a long season and injuries, bad luck etc. can take a role but its hard not to get hyped about this roster. I'm wondering how much the practice squad players get paid. Are they all paid the same or are there tiers? Do they get a weekly check or some other schedule? Just curious, I've never heard it talked about. Also, I wonder why they didn't keep LRZ on the practice squad. It seems that Steele won the spot that LRZ might have gotten on the team. Zappe is a good veteran quarterback for practice squad but sad LRZ left for Jacksonville and adding Scott and getting the running back from Denver Perine helps with the running back room especially with CEH having healthy issues does not get better and good receiving skills to replace McKinnon is definitely a plus.

Then add Travis….there is no double coverage. I know because of the cap it would have been almost impossible to do but that would been the best move… the glaring need on the team was WRs nothing else…. I think the defense is going to have holes and will regress. They shouldn’t have sacrificed defense for more offense….defense wins championships… they needed to just score a little bit more.

The LRZ thing doesn't really suprise me. I got the impression he was having some issues learning the game of football and the playbook. I just don't think they saw enough to justify all the effort it was going to take to bring him up to speed. With all the talent the Chiefs have they can't tie up a roster spot with someone like LRZ right now.
I think zappe with Andy gets better. And as u said might eventually be a good backup to mahomes when Wentz does hang it up . Hopefully 2 yrs zappe moves up.
Happy for LRZ that somebody saw something in him but he's just not a football player yet. Maybe someday but just being a great athlete isn't enough and speaking of which, at least Toney has a rap career ahead of him! Haha. I knew as soon as that pic of Juju with his old jersey no 9 was released, LRZ was gone. I was really hoping he would make it onto the practice squad and am super bummed he signed with the Jaguars. I don’t know much about Godrick or why he got the tag over LRZ. Were the Chiefs hoping they didn’t need to tag LRZ and it just didn’t work out?

I love Perine. He can take hits, is a very physical runner, can shrug off tackles and is extremly good at catching and blocking. Pacheco, Perine, Steel.... Jeez they gonna bulldoze other teams. compare that with elite speed at WR and actual good hands in Rice, Worthy, Hollywood and Juju (who is also very strong WR) + most trusted hands off all, Kelce.
This season looks very promising... i dont wanna get my hype up because its a long season and injuries, bad luck etc. can take a role but its hard not to get hyped about this roster.

I love the WR room, the TE room is the best Pat has played with, the RB room is really nice with some good talent and the O-line depth is also getting there. The offense definitely feels like it’s in a good spot
I'm wondering how much the practice squad players get paid. Are they all paid the same or are there tiers? Do they get a weekly check or some other schedule? Just curious, I've never heard it talked about. Also, I wonder why they didn't keep LRZ on the practice squad. It seems that Steele won the spot that LRZ might have gotten on the team. Who will they bring in when/if? CEH becomes a non-contributor, like last year. Oh, Perine! Hmm, I see. Interesting. The front office always has a good plan! I love these guys! I watch to the end, keep talking, I'm listening.
Zappe is a good veteran quarterback for practice squad but sad LRZ left for Jacksonville and adding Scott and getting the running back from Denver Perine helps with the running back room especially with CEH having healthy issues does not get better and good receiving skills to replace McKinnon is definitely a plus.

Yeah I'm happy with roster other than that one glaring need, that room can get thin and scary real quick with a couple injuries.
@@legitdragon6202 to be honest I would rather of kept the entire defense from last year bring everyone back…. Sign a legit #1 receiver, Mike Evans with Worthy and Rice to me is more formidable…. Then add Travis….there is no double coverage. I know because of the cap it would have been almost impossible to do but that would been the best move… the glaring need on the team was WRs nothing else…. I think the defense is going to have holes and will regress. They shouldn’t have sacrificed defense for more offense….defense wins championships… they needed to just score a little bit more.

The LRZ thing doesn't really suprise me. I got the impression he was having some issues learning the game of football and the playbook. I just don't think they saw enough to justify all the effort it was going to take to bring him up to speed. With all the talent the Chiefs have they can't tie up a roster spot with someone like LRZ right now.
I think zappe with Andy gets better. And as u said might eventually be a good backup to mahomes when Wentz does hang it up . Hopefully 2 yrs zappe moves up.

Happy for LRZ that somebody saw something in him but he's just not a football player yet. Maybe someday but just being a great athlete isn't enough and speaking of which, at least Toney has a rap career ahead of him! Haha. The Perine singing is huge and frankly, I hope he overtakes CEH as the backup RB because he is a grown ass man out there, along with Steele. Nice to see Ross and Remigio back at the PS and injuries are inevitable so we know they'll keep developing and at least be serviceable if called on. Go Chiefs!
