Saints win a frantic match against Warrington at Wilderspool. This was a highly important win for St Helens in finishing as eventual champions of Super League I.
What a game for Prescott this was. I love watching these old games with Warrington an Wigan,,,,this was saints at there best this is the team that set Saints on there way to control like we did for so long. Let's hope these days come back to Saints very soon,,,,r,I,p, Prescot.
I was a ball boy at this match. To this day it is still one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen even though we lost. Heroic efforts. The legend that is Prescott was everywhere. Atmosphere was electric. Fantastic tries particularly Henare .... Good times.
@@waynehigham6504 ah really? What did you do there? I joined as a ball boy (I was about 11 yes) at the beginning of 1995. Happy memories of the old Wilderspool ground.
Also some tactics from Saints which you'd never see in the modern game. Warrington are 7 points up with 8 minutes to go, and Saints kick the penalty, hoping no doubt to score a try later. Couldn't see that happening today, but it seemed to pay off in this game!
Some incredible tackles from Steve Prescott here.

Brilliant to watch. I haven't been to Wilderspool for over 30 years and to see Saints pull this off at the end was great.
I remember attending that game....One of my favourite all time matches
Precky always had the heart of a lion and the will of a terminator.
Such an important win for us that night. Dancing in the Railway End

Class act Steve Prescott. Should have had a crack at the NRL.

I think it would have been a different story had wire not been down to 12 men.
