Are we certain Forge didn’t help Storm first and then she had a mental block that she had to get over? Storm didn’t initially know what type of blast she took for Magneto and then realized her powers disappeared. I really admired the strength she showed against the Adversary. Wow Storm says, “What are demons but reflections of our fears and shame?”
GLORIOUS!!!!! Totally different pacing than last wk's episode but utterly satisfying chapter as well. I can't believe they got rid of Ororo's mohawk so soon, but her magically Sailor Storm growing out her hair & then manifesting her iconic tiara shows that she's claiming her supernatural heritage. They even showed Forge's shamanic power (I mean I thought they'd just keep it simple in the cartoon & have him remain the science guy). Literally a shamanic journey for both (& with Xavier as well), with Forge letting go of logical Western "science" to rely on the age-old wisdom of his mother & use faith to help his friend, Ororo accepting her past (her original 70s outfit), defeating her demons ("What are demons but reflections of our fears & shame") to let her move towards the future. Screamed & hollered when Ororo got rehabilitated. She was NEVER depicted as THIS Goddess & THAT badass punk b*tch with the strongest will amongst all the mutants in any type of media apart from the source material (deplorably NEVER in the films, nor to this extent in the old cartoon). I swear most of the writers in LA nowadays have GONE THROUGH SHAMANIC HEALING SESSIONS & this shows in all of the best writing LOL.
It was weird when I heard that quip because I had watched a NewsNation video here on YT earlier (hours before I saw this breakdown), where a woman spotted a UFO from her window seat on a commercial flight out of NYC and took a video of it. Anyway, someone had posted a comment in that video, saying something like the aliens are all leaving earth because it has become a ghetto. Kinda freaked me out a little bit, the coincidence of it.
There were some funny details in their different faces. Some of them were super into being in class, and some really bored. Like typical school kids. lol

I think the War of the Worlds reference is also meant to be a nod to the attack on Genosha. The original War of the Worlds movie featured large aliens ships that attacked cities with green energy beam, very reminiscent of the way the wild Sentinels massacred the mutants. If you listen closely at the beam aimed at Gambit, you can even hear a similar sound effect used in War of the Worlds.

I stated that I believed it was never used because it was too revealing. I didn't say that was the exact reason. My opinion just comes from observation. But actually, I briefly forgot that this was based on Jim Lee's interpretation of the X-men of the 90s and she wear the white/silver costume. Maybe some did think the old one was too revealing in the 90s. In the 80s, it was more accepted. I remember plenty of She-Ra scenes where she would throw a kick and the animators had no problem showing us her panties, even if it was a quick shot...lol. Maybe we're both right. :)
X-Men 97 episode 6 was epic! These characters are so well written, the animation looks great, and this was a more “chill” episode, too. The fact that the quality is this high even for episodes like this is amazing. Also… Storm in the Black Suit is awesome 🔥
Oh my stars and garters,! I just finished watching the latest episode of "X-Men '97" that dropped, and let me tell you, it was absolutely mind-blowing! The way they've seamlessly continued the story from where the original '90s series left off is pure genius. The animation style pays such a perfect homage to the classic, yet it's been updated just enough to feel fresh and modern. The character development is on point! I mean, the way they're diving deeper into the backstories and the dynamics between the mutants is just what we die-hard fans have been craving. And the voice acting? It's like meeting old friends again after years apart. The nostalgia hit me like a optic blast from Cyclops himself! The plot twists had me on the edge of my seat, and the cliffhanger at the end? I'm already counting down the days until the next episode. The writers are not holding back, and it's clear they're pulling out all the stops with the cameos and easter eggs scattered throughout the episode. It's a treasure trove for us X-Men aficionados. I'm telling you, this show is a love letter to the fans, and it's like they've taken a page right out of my dream journal. I can't wait to see where they take the storyline next. The X-Men are back, baby, and they're better than ever! Excelsior!
I liked this episode, even though it kep going back & forth between Porfessor X & Storm's sotries. I liked a lot the scene where Storm got her powers back, with an updgraded costume. & also the ending of it. Great video, really like it, & also didn't know about the 3rd Omega level mutant who is Cyclop's 3rd brother. I only thought he had Havoc. Can't wait to see next week's episode, & I think Gambit will come back through 1 of Cable's time travel. Because in the precious episode he said" No not again' before he was zapped back to his time ion the fututre, that he had tried this before again & again.
Man!!! Marvel is getting their respect back with this series!!! If the upcoming X-men MCU movies are like this Marvel will have redeemed itself , starting with Deadpool and Wolvy !!!
This reboot/continuation has happily pulled me back into the series, despite my early hesitations and even slight resentment to the idea. I've been extremely happy with the course of this season, and definitely look forward to what the future has in store.
She definitely lost her powers from the weapon. Forge’s machine worked but it was hinted that Storm’s mental block kept her from being able to show that. Similar to how Prof X mental block keeps him from having use of his legs.
For those of you who are curious.... the reason to why Vulcan was never introduced into the original Xmen 90's cartoon series was because he didn''t exist until 1996 or 1997 marvel comics; that is when he was introduced as a new character. Surprisingly, most other xmen characters were much older at least 30 to 40 years older or even more than that.
I wonder if the bit with Gambit's visage turning into a skeleton is a hint at him being brought back as a Horseman of Apocalypse. I mean he literally turns into death here, and then proceeeds to emit a an energy that looks very different to his normal power.
I will not be too happy if they give the full team new uniforms. The new, crappy uniforms were what chased me off in the original X-comics around 1998. And I was always annoyed when X-fans make artwork of the 90s team, yet so many inexplicably put Storm in her 70s uniform that she also gets in this episode. I prefer her 90s uniform as it looks more elegant. She can keep the tiara but I want the white uniform back. My favorite uniform though was the black one with the lightning bolt that she wore in the 80s. I would happily accept that as her new uniform. But yea…I don’t want all the other characters losing their iconic uniforms.
I liked the detail where during the battle in the throne room a bunch of guards were thrown off the side of the completely unnecessarily bridge to their death and immediately after Professor X mind controls them all and his classroom has a bunch of empty chairs that would not have been empty had he done it just seconds sooner, but then they all casually carry on completely ignoring that both sides lost a bunch of loyal soldiers.
I don't really think that Storm had just a mental block all this time like you said. Spider-Man did have it in his second movie, but here Storm was actually hit with a device that took her powers for real, and then on part 1 a couple of episodes back Forge created a device to revert the effects, and to me it did work, it just didn't take effect right away because of her mental state. So in fact she lost her power and regained them with the devices, but got her groove back after she fought her demons, her fears.
Every episode is _packed_ with information!! It's amazing they packed this many different angles, stories & characters into each episode. Bravo to the writers, bravo 🎉🎊🎉

Can't wait to see next week's episode, & I think Gambit will come back through 1 of Cable's time travel. Because in the precious episode he said" No not again' before he was zapped back to his time ion the fututre, that he had tried this before again & again.
Nice!
Man!!! Marvel is getting their respect back with this series!!! If the upcoming X-men MCU movies are like this Marvel will have redeemed itself , starting with Deadpool and Wolvy !!!
Another 10/10 episode. Feels like a 1hr episode with how much has happened.
This reboot/continuation has happily pulled me back into the series, despite my early hesitations and even slight resentment to the idea. I've been extremely happy with the course of this season, and definitely look forward to what the future has in store.
Is it only me or does the new animated look for Xavier looks like he hasn’t slept for days?
I think Scott is turning into extreme Cyclops. He might tell the returning professor No you can't lead like he did in the comics.
Vulcan just made an appearance in Xmen 97 I hope they flesh his story in later season.
She definitely lost her powers from the weapon. Forge’s machine worked but it was hinted that Storm’s mental block kept her from being able to show that. Similar to how Prof X mental block keeps him from having use of his legs.
professor X left the X men to go marry a baddie 😎
Someone enviously didn’t watch the the go series
“So let them thunder, fore I am the LIGHTNING” actual chills 😮
The Demon is Shadow King. Shadow King can come in different forms.
THANKS for the speed!!!
No problem! Lots of clues this week!
The cyclops outro has me dying 😂
"Milky Way ghetto"...damn, Deathbird cooked in this episode.
Professor X taking them to school was awesome!
Professor X taking them to school was Amazing, but Storm getting her Powers back was next Level 🎊👌🏾🥳🥹
This show is just amazing. I'm excited to see what they're going to do with Gambit
I think Storm lost her powers but Forge's treatment works, it's then when storm mental block prevents her from ysing her already regained powers
Yay Gambit should come back. I felt sad when they carried his coffin.
I knew about Havoc but I really had no idea Cyclops had 2 brothers in the comics. Thank you, Charlie.
Professor X sending people to the Astroplane like Dr. Strange was pretty cool.
SWEET! the sight of Vulcan meaning....we might get to see Storm dawning her new outfit from "X-MEN: RED" in the future season's episodes.
I think that yellow X behind Gambit is just an excuse to make a stars light wrap look like the X in Xavier’s X-Men
“ The Milky Way ghetto” was hilarious
The cyclops walk out is insane
Couldn't help laughing, being reminded of Birdperson from Rick and Morty just a bit lol
Always nice to see the Legion of Superheroes, even in Marvel form.
Storms new suit reminds me slightly of her X-men evolution suit
She's wearing one of her other classic suits from the comics.
Things are about to get crazy in the last 4 episodes.
yep! It's a 3 part finale!
@@emergencyawesome can’t wait 🙌
Mohawk Storm will always be her best look.
I love the space stuff!!! The Imperial Guard and Deathbird, awesome!!!! Hope we see more and the Brood!!!
Nice!
Im so stoked about storm glad she ditched the mohawk and got this iconic classic outfit she looks amazing and its her coolest look ever imo
Storm getting her powers back and wearing the black suit really got me ❤❤❤😂😂😂
This show has been great so far. They went heavy from episode 1.
You have a real nack for explaining these comic moments GREAT WORK
So glad to see Gladiator back!! Hoping more scenes with the rest of the Shi'ar imperial guard
They were cool!
The statue in front of gladiator and proffesor x when they are talking is a tribute to the late Carlos Pacheco from his starjammers miniseries
I love storms new suit!
It's one of her other iconic comic book suits
Looks fantastic
Storm look fine asf ngl😩😩😫
Every episode is _packed_ with information!! It's amazing they packed this many different angles, stories & characters into each episode. Bravo to the writers, bravo 🎉🎊🎉
When Gladiator was talking to Charles Xavier, Charles Xavier referring Magneto as Magnus. Perhaps Magneto never used his real name around Charles Xavier as he knew they had conflicting ideas which could cause conflict in between both of the
I was hoping that gambit teaser would be a teaser for Omega Level Gambit!
Would be nice for people to see how powerful Gambit really is.
I can't wait for Spider-Man 98 and I know marvel is definitely going to do it.
Gambit dead? I won't be watching another episode. If they bring him back later as a horseman, I will then binge watch all the episodes I missed. Gambit was my favorite. His death is the end of my watching. ✌🏽
I hope Charles get his yellow hover chair back in season one finale
