How wonderful it must be to be wealthy enough to own one of those homes and boathouse on this beautiful lake. Just proves that the quality of life one can enjoy strictly revolves around how much wealth you have.
Love watching your fishing shows and a lot of the products you use me &my brother use also I learned a lot about fishing just watching u &how u use different types of fishing lures the older I get the more I want to fish (who) fishing is a sport 2nd 2 none James Chavis Fairmont NC
I simply love your videos, Mr.Gene. I am an old time bass tournament fisherman. I was a charter member of BASS, my number was #86....way back in 1968 and did that stuff for decades. One day I realized that I wasn't having fun anymore. Fishing had become a hassle of chasing the almighty $$$$....so I quit that stuff and went back to what I always enjoyed. Your kind of fishing. The past 20 years have been a total delight....I wouldn't give you 10 cents for every bass in the lake, but I will go wild over those slab crappies, bluegills, and shellcrackers. Keep on with the videos. I LOVE to see that float go under. Thank you. Pete Lowenstein.
Gene, rememer the tiny jig on my Musky video? I caught all my big crappie on that small thing. On the big jigs I am getting far fewer bites and i get impatient. I think you are on the money, sir! As long as you JIG IT, small artificials produce everything.
Love this style reel your using bought one for ice fishing to try out next day I bought 2 more for spares. So smooth even in below freezing temps. No problem reeling in buckets of perch here on lake Champlain. Your channel best pan fishing to watch and learn. Just never seen you catch a perch?
What a bunch bigins! I hope they are in my area. Bedding in less tha 30 days unless we get some crazy cold fronts coming like we got this week. Down in high 30's last night. Almost got the boat rigged up. Trolling motor is fixed and big motor is running (knock on wood). That was a great video, you're the real deal Fish Whisperer!
We call em Chinquapin down here in Louisiana. My favorite thing to fish for, but when you tell someone you like bream fishing the best, they don't think you can fish. That's bull. They can be hard to find sometimes. I have been trying to learn crappie, but its hard. I had to resort to youtube. I dont have a fish finder. Just a jonboat and a few cheap poles.
I've been using 4lb and 2lb S.O.S. line and mini mite jigs this year...pretty much fishing ultra light tackle this year, and caught more fish than I ever have in years past. And a lot more fun! You got me hooked on using lght line...Great video, Ricard Gene!
I love these videos they remind me how simple it really is to have fun. Theres gonna be a lot of squirrel tail jigs being sold after this one. I used to watch my grandpa tie his own when i was just a lil bitty fella. Caught many a fish on homemade jigs.
R.G. , another great video !! YOU ARE UNDOUBTEDLY THE REAL DEAL , when it comes to fishing my friend !! And Your also FAST AS GREASED LIGHTNING when it comes to catching dem air Miller Bugs in yoo mouth , airr ELLMOOO !!! GOLLY BUMMM !!!
Elmo this is my favorite of them all....would brim and shellcracker, crappie fishing be good on the dead river west of Centre/west of Weiss dam.....why don`t you try it ?
Richard Gene- Thanks for the tip about soaking your line. Do you take if off the spool entirely and soak it or leave it on the spool and soak it like it comes packaged from the store?
Cam L no don’t take it off the spool or you will never get it on your reel. Just soak it on the original spool it came on from the packaging then wind it on your reel. Hope this helps
Another great video. Thanks Richard. I may just have to go small. Small bait and small line. Not done it that small before. Great tip about soaking your line too. You have a lot of knowledge, thanks for sharing.
Mr. Richard have you ever thought about doing a video on cooking up some shellcracker, bluegill or crappie. Like to see how you prepare your fish. Seems like everybody does it a little different. Great videos, me and my 4 year old son watch them all.
I remember Homer, back in the mid 80's when I got started with bass fishing. Had a vhs tape of him talking about THE fish finder the ratltrap. I have neurosophy in my hands but may try a split shot in front of jig so I can feel it some.
I would love to see some videos of the equipment you use to make your videos Machine, and your method of putting them together. You do a killer job of fishing,, along with making killer content for us to watch, and remember go fishing when you can cause its good for ya!!!!!
Another great video. I heard you say that you were fishing with a #10 hook. What was the weight of the jig? I've got 6 squirrel tails in the freezer that are fixin to be fishing jigs. I use to tie them all the time but I haven't tied any in years. They are a great bluegill and shellcracker bait.
If you were me, okay - would you throw back in there...priceless Rich.
I laugh a lot during your videos, but you made me lose my breath on trying to snap up the flying bugs at the end. Never stop.
Just another day in paradise.
Thanks Richard.....This is my favorite so far.
You are the only guy I know that fishes 1 lb test,, nice lesson. You should do a video on some of your sweet Ultra-Lite set ups
How wonderful it must be to be wealthy enough to own one of those homes and boathouse on this beautiful lake. Just proves that the quality of life one can enjoy strictly revolves around how much wealth you have.

Elmo.....This one is my favorite one of all. Thanks
It’s way up there on my list too. Only 2nd to creek fishing videos and the live bait videos around the bridges.

Keep on keeping on!! U r the man !!!!!!!
I appreciate how you gently release a fish. Many fisherman toss a fish back like they're throwing away trash. Shameful!
I've heard hot tap water will remove memory from the line on your reel.. Not sure if it will..
Will they eat micro earthworms they are super thin and tiny I captured some today and I was wondering if I could catch em with those tomorrow
Soak the mono in warm water, or does it matter?
Richard you remind me of all that old school fishing styles and knowledge of both my Grand dads. Keep showing us how its done.
That's a really beautiful and productive lake!!

Thanks for the line tip! I always wondered about that. Love what you do Bro! Thank you again!!😀
Do you think the reason panfish prefer smaller lures like that is because it's about the size of the insects they eat Richard.Great show as always
