Thanks!!! I’m so grateful that I found this video!! I’m from Puerto Rico and we started hurricane season 🫣 I bought a similar stove and had no idea how it works or how to connect it correctly.. After hurricane María each year locals have to prepare at advanced if a hurricane 🌀 decides to visit” the island 🏝 last time I had no power for about 6 months!! It was a nightmare 😥 Many Blessings!! ✨🙏🏻

Hi Cristina, great to hear from you all the way from Puerto Rico. I'm so happy that my wee amateur video has been some use to you in your very difficult circumstances. I wish you God's blessing as you face the dreadful trials of hurricanes. We have no idea here in Ireland what life can be like for you and the people around you. Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills.

Absolutely Alrike. The idea is to be prepared. I'm afraid these are very strange times. i have zero trust in our UK government who are clearly out for themselves. We had to buy online. Gas cylinders are picked up easily though. Thanks for your welcome encouragement. Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills of Northern Ireland.

It's best to be prepared Donna. Dear knows how this covid thing will be ramped up. Power cuts are certainly one way it could be done.

Yes this one I bought is a bit on the large side for short outdoor trips but that was never the intention. I just wanted it as a back up plan in the event of an emergency situation. I think i might consider buying a small camping one too.

Good work, Tom! I agree wholeheartedly that you should have a gas stove to cook on should the power go out. We get terrible ice storms here sometimes. The power doesn't go out like it used to as they have buried most of the power lines in Cedar Falls, but with the derecho that blew through Cedar Rapids earlier this year, they were out of power for two weeks in some areas. We have a gas grill with a side burner that we can boil water on etc. and I always keep two tanks on hand. You did a good job hooking that up. For future knowledge, put just a touch of dish soap and then just a tiny bit of water on your connections then they will slide right on. This works great for motorcycle grips as well. A few things about working with gas... Be careful when connecting the hose to the tank. When you insert the male end in there, sometimes it can give off a blast of super cold gas which can freeze your hand. Ask me how I know. So wearing a glove is not a bad idea. Also, only use your stove outdoors! Enjoy! you may take to cooking outside. Americans do it all the time with our big outdoor patio grills. We sell fancy grills at the hardware store. They have become almost a luxury item here and cost between $400 to $1,000 or more dollars! You come in for screws and leave with a grill.

Burying the power lines is a much better alternative but it is the more expensive option short term. Ah good idea about the soap. Why didn't i think of that? lol
I've seen those big grills Greg! Really luxury items and really expensive! We just don't get the weather to warrent having them.

@@TomMcClean Selling grills is my specialty. Among my other duties at the store, I'm the go-to guy on grills. Then I get to deliver them too, and that can turn into an adventure. One time we got locked out on a balcony with no stairs for half an hour right after getting stung by wasp. It's good get out of the store for a bit though. Off to work!

I have a Campingaz Gaz Grill which is great in the few short weeks of Summer we get in Northern Ireland. I tried using it a few times in winter but it was so cold the flame froze.

Just watched your vid and I think the two identical domed washers are for the regulator to bottle not as you have done as they serve no purpose where they are. Just saying

Hi Santiago. It's all there in my video notes.
'I bought a 4 burner gas hob cooker online from NJ Commerce.
Along with regulator/gas cylinder connector and one and a half metre hose pipe, the whole thing came to about £75.
      I called in at a local shop and bought a 6k gas cylinder/bottle. This cost £44. '
Prices are probably a lot dearer now though. That was 3 years ago when I bought it.
Best wishes from the Belfast Castlereagh hills of Northern Ireland.
