EMREE exam can be given right after your internship, even final year student. You will ONLY apply for residency only after completing internship.

Only Emirati nationals and UAE graduates are exempted from this experience requirement. If IMGs, you will be required to fulfill a two-year experience requirement AFTER internship in order to be able to apply for a GP license in the UAE.
