Drawing inspiration from a COOL VIDEO

In today's session, Ken 'hiwatt' Marshall shares an original track, inspired by one very cool video! This is something I get up to all the time...and I strongly encourage everyone to give it a try ;-)
I jump on youtube and find a video that just blows me away visually, this is a perfect example. I capture the video, then do an edit, based on a particular tempo. Once roughed in, I pull it into ProTools, and score the picture, as I would any. I find it draws inspiration, and parts I might never discover...things like tempo changes, big drops, etc.
The result, is often a KILLER track, that stands perfectly well all by itself! In this case I'm sharing the video, just for reference. The key is to mute your audio when searching for inspiring visuals…so you’re never influenced by the original! I still have no idea what the original score was on this one 😆
