5:00-6:30 THE MOST ICONIC AND POWERFUL SCENE in the whole movie. Still makes me cry after 25 years "That's not my father. It's just my reflection." "No, look harder" ... "You see? He LIVES IN YOU" ... "Simba, you have forgotten me. You have forgotten who you are, and so you have forgotten me. Look inside yourself, Simba. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the Circle of Life" "How can I go back? I'm not who I used to be!" "Remember who you are. You are my son, and the one true king. Remember who you are.
There is a simple answer to that. He's not the composer, he's not capable o producing such masterpiece. He don't have the technical and harmonic knowledge to create such composition!
"Remember who you are. You are my son, and the one true king." James Earl Jones' delivery of that line combined with Hans Zimmer's score is just godlike. It gives me chills every time.
"Simba." "Father?" "Simba...you have forgotten me." "No. How could I?" "You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. Look inside yourself Simba. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place in the circle of life." "How can I go back? I'm not who I used to be." "Remember who you are. You are my son...and the one true king. Remember...who you are."
"You killed my father!" "No... I am your father." "That's not true. That's impossible!" "Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
GeminiTIGER You forgot to say "Search your feelings you know it to be true". "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!" And then "Join me and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
You can hear the voice of Mufasa's spirit and feel his presence in the orchestration alone. That's impressive beyond words. Hanz Zimmer is a truly gifted composer. Mufasa reminded Simba that he was the one true king, but the part where he tells Simba that he was more than what he had become, and that Simba had forgotten Mufasa because Simba seemed to forget who his father was teaching him to be, really reveals he was watching over Simba up to that point. I get moved to tears when I hear those lines.

I feel so blessed to have been a child when this film came out. I was six years old. And even at that age, this scene touched something deep inside my soul. I understood the connection we all have to our living relatives, our ancestors, the gods . . . everything is connected. And while nothing lives forever, things are always reborn: The seasons weave the same circle every year, the snow of winters gives way to flowers, newborn animals and people grow up to have children of their own and guide that next generation as they themselves grow old . . . And this scene captures it beautifully. Disney will, sadly, most likely never be like this again. We as children of the '90s were so lucky to see the Disney Renaissance as it unfolded. If only we could have known it wouldn't last. We might have cherished all those trips to the movies and Disney Store even more.
@TheaterRaven I was 5 back then. Eternally grateful to watch TLK in the theatres for the very first time. It was SO mindblowing. TLK will ALWAYS have a special place in my poor little heart. 😚😚😭😭😭💔💔💔🦁🦁

I consider that Mufasa’s theme song. I noticed that melody all over the movie. When Mufasa is explaining the Circle of Life to Simba and in the scene where Mufasa is dead and Simba is realizing what he (thought) he had done. Here it’s brought out in full force and i love it.
I hate comments like this because making yourself believe this is what prevents people from enjoying new things, and turns them into sad, jaded old people.
James Earl Jones somehow manages to express all of Mufasa's judgement yet undying love for his son in a single utterance. Making him the voicever goat.
This score gives me insane goosebumps and rushes of emotions. I will always love the emotion packed into Disney movie's soundtracks, and I have immense respect for the composers of these masterpieces.
I cry, every time, because losing someone close to you and forgetting who you really are is... such a powerful and emotional subject to tackle. This, was probably the best Disney movie ever. The music is fantastic. The animation is captivating. The voice actors did a PHENOMENAL job creating something that felt real. This is my favourite childhood movie. Always has been, always will be. Kudos, and thank you for sharing your opinion. :)
So sad when he died. It still hurts. "Yes, de past can hurt, sometimes. But de way I see it, you can eiter run from it. Or LEARN from it!"-Rafiki(written in his accent for greater effect)
Well, if reincarnation is a thing, he will either run from it or learn from it (I made a joke to stop myself from crying) PS I cried anyways. 👊🏻respect rafiki
The Lion King is one of the most underrated movie of our time. Meant to be a children's movie, but when you look at it, there is alot of sybolism in its fantastic plot, breathtaking music, colorful animations, and a few romantic and comedic moments. Epic Piece of art. beast song
"Look inside yourself Simba, you are more than what you have become " That's the line that hits home with me the most because my dad said something similar to me before he died RIP dad I love you man.
This is one of the few scores that just makes my heart physically ache for life and for beauty (this track in particular). It's so beautiful it hurts. Just listening to it gives me chills.
Just knowing that these missing tracks still exist is pure joy to me. I never thought I'd hear them outside of the film. We have to sign that petition, people. We need these tracks to be available.
I've said this before, but Mufasa's ghost appearing to Simba is my favorite scene in the whole film. The music is played out so well to give it the importance in the scene, and I don't think it could have been done better. I can't help but get teary when Mufasa reminds Simba "You are my son, and the one, true king." I don't think Simba would have gained the courage to face Scar if he had not received encouragement from his father's ghost.
I love how, through the whole soundtrack, the vocals (choir) are almost an instrument in itself. Hans Zimmer did a wonderful, spiritual soundtrack with the Lion King!
You can hear the voice of Mufasa's spirit and feel his presence through the orchestration alone right? Hanz Zimmer is one gifted composer. Not to mention that he also incorporated the true sounds of the nature in Africa, used the Swahili language, and used an authentic African choir sound/style in the vocals and authentic African instruments.
@@kylieb1796 When it comes to music and sounds, Hans Zimmer is a genus. He might be our version of the great musicians of the past. He could be the modern day Mozart or Beethoven which are sadly the only two who come immediately to mind, but you probably get the point.
It's incredible how a guy that never had any classical studies such as Harmony, Counterpoint, Orchestration and Composition made this wonderful piece of art.....yeah maybe because he didn't and only put his name on top of work done by other people! Such a shame that he can get away with this..
I’m almost 21 and I’ve loved this movie since I was 7. It was a part of me 24/7, from watching the whole thing like 5 times in a day to even being weird and acting it all out in my bedroom. It’s a movie like no other and no matter how old I get, it will still be a part of me. Thank you Disney for such an inspiring and beautiful movie and making my childhood the best times ever ❤️
Love how from 2:16 it gets mystical and magical and there's sense of wisdom from the chants, signifying Rafiki's heart to heart with the rightful king. Underrated
“Remember who you are.” That quote really struck inspiration in my heart, I’ll never ever forget those words. Thank you so much King Mufassa, your majesty.
It is music that gives peace, tragedy, sadness and that leads you to imagine everything or another planet even. and summarize our humanity from the beginning. The best of Han Zimmer..
Needed something like this in Last Jedi, where Anakin says to Luke in a Vaderish voice. "Luke." "Father?" "Son, you have forgotten me." "No. How could I?" "You have abandoned who you are, and so forgotten me. Look within yourself, Luke. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place as the Chosen One." "How can I go back? I lost Ben to the Dark Side." "Remember who you are. You are my son, and the heir to the Jedi. Remember... who you are."
omg...just listning to this i started crying....this is a classic that will always remain.....they need to make movies like this again....including the scores
The score of the "The Lion King" is the best reminder in my life of the indescribable power of music. I don't know how anyone could listen to this and not feel some kind of emotion. For me, it goes straight to where it counts: the heart.
"You see? He lives in you." THE best score of all time! (And the best scene) Sorry to break it to you... NOT! I noticed, 24 years later, that the ending of Simba & Nala's scene is foreshadowing what Scar will do to Sarabi to a degree. The higher pitch in this sequence compared to the one during the climax. Hans Zimmer has been able to use very specific themes at different rhythms and this really builds Simba as a character through the music itself. The early part of the "Remembrance" sequence is the same heard when Simba climbs up the rock and you can find those segments in most Simba/Mufasa/Rafiki scenes. Sure we remember the dialogues, the songs and the stampede but the score is what makes this movie a masterpiece. Also the fact that the animators used the water to great effect in two shots: when Simba rests on the trunk... and then seeing the reflection of Mufasa a few minutes later. Everything, every single frame has been thought. It's all tied together.
“And where the journey may lead me, let your prayers be my guide. But I’ll remember my prideland.” I saw the Lion King musical about the same time as seeing the first movie and so they’re linked together in my mind.
"Remember who you are. You are my son and the one true king. Remember..who you are." "No, please! Don't leave me! Father! Don't leave me..." "Remember... Remember..."
Have you ever imagined the life lesson is that this movie. It's the best story of overcoming I know. Lost father, grew up without parents, friends helped to get up, regained strength and saved his family and friends. The circle of life.
15 years, give-or-take a few. That's how long it's been since I saw this movie as a kid, and yet I still recall every beat of this scene due to the direction, animation, and among other things, this here score.
gosh, this makes me cry my heart out no matter when and where I hear or actually watch that moment. It makes me feel sad and scared that we all have to literally survive the pain of losing someone we will always love and the worst part is, no matter how brave you are and even when you keep going with your own life, this pain becomes a part of your heart and you just have to learn to ignore it by doing good things and be loved and all that stuff. life is so, so unfair..
I always love the part from 6:49 to 7:10. It has that memorable melody in the movie. And I feel like every time it plays it shows that Simba is slowly growing into becoming the One True King.
this will always stand as a part of my choldhood that I will forever treasure. i have seen this movie countless times and i will enjoy it for countless more.
7:30 The end of the song with Rafiki xD I love him, he's my favorite character because he's wise and funny at the same time. His wisdom teaches lessons~
I don't know why but the part that begins at 6:05 is what my body remembers the most about that movie. Like, of course I know the songs and some dialogues by heart but every time I watch the movie, at that moment I'm beginning to get goosebumps just before the "explosion" and then I cry, which makes absolutely no sense but hey, isn't that the point of Disney? So yeah, thank you for sharing this beautiful part of this beautiful movie ❤
I grew up watching The Lion King. It was and still is my absolute favorite Disney classic 💖 25 now and the music still moves me and makes me cry like a baby
What is truly amazing is that the comments that were made 5 years ago; three years ago; two years ago; one week ago, all have the same repetitive tone. Our hearts have been enlightened through the interpretation of these musical geniuses decoding of God's Holy Universal Language. I will forever be grateful for this, or these experiences that transcends space and time, and takes me to another dimension. It's just Heavenly. Beautiful storyline connecting us all to our Awesome Creator.
my mother said that when I was two years old, she said that I would lay on the floor on my belly and watched the Lion King over and over again not recalling how many times. And no wonder I get this nostalgia sad feeling whenever hear the score music. Lion King was my first chapter of my childhood.
It went to a point where it’s not just a movie or a score . It’s part of my childhood thus part of me of my body . When art surpass us that much I dont like to call it out of this world. I like to call it it’s from the deepest heart of us humans.
Disney once could make a masterpiece in a bold fashion that would rock people's hearts. But now..... as if Scar has taken the throne, exploiting its land to the last drop.
This taught me the biggest lesson in my life to move on from the past, not to live in it and to get on with life as lifes short but loved ones who have past away will always be alongside you every step of the way. Lion king you seriously rock thanks for giving me happiness and goosebumps everytime i listen to your music x
I LOVE how all these comments remember the dialogue from this movie. I love the loyalty here!

Mufasa reminded Simba that he was the one true king, but the part where he tells Simba that he was more than what he had become, and that Simba had forgotten Mufasa because Simba seemed to forget who his father was teaching him to be, really reveals he was watching over Simba up to that point. My guy... we are one!!!
Yes... Most touching part for me
Reminds me on Mozart KV 622 2nd Movement
this scene in the movie made me cry 😭😭😭
This is why Hans Zimmer is the greatest human being alive..
RIP Robert Guillaume (The voice of Rafiki)
So sad when he died. It still hurts. "Yes, de past can hurt, sometimes. But de way I see it, you can eiter run from it. Or LEARN from it!"-Rafiki(written in his accent for greater effect)
DanTheMan33088, it hurt when I found out. It’s like my heart was pulled out he was my favourite character old Rafiki R.I.P
Well, if reincarnation is a thing, he will either run from it or learn from it (I made a joke to stop myself from crying)
PS I cried anyways. 👊🏻respect rafiki
The spirit of the movie
Forever the best primarch after Sanguinius.
Wait....
The Lion King is one of the most underrated movie of our time. Meant to be a children's movie, but when you look at it, there is alot of sybolism in its fantastic plot, breathtaking music, colorful animations, and a few romantic and comedic moments.
Epic Piece of art. beast song
i don't think it's underrated, it's still considered the best animated movie of all time
"Look inside yourself Simba, you are more than what you have become "
That's the line that hits home with me the most because my dad said something similar to me before he died
RIP dad I love you man.
This is one of the most beautiful songs that has ever existed in the history of humanity.
Rob Bonavoglia and it’s all thanks to the great composer Hans Zimmer
Hans is a great composer. He’s good at producing music and writing music. And to be honest, that’s a big job, which means it’s a career.
Two goats (Zimmer and Jones) and some of the greatest visual storytelling of all time combined to achieve one of the greatest scenes of all time.
There are feelings of nostalgia that give you goosebumps and then there's this. This gets tears in your eyes, there will never be a better movie.
Kids nowadays can’t imagine how magnificent this masterpiece in our era
I love how, through the whole soundtrack, the vocals (choir) are almost an instrument in itself. Hans Zimmer did a wonderful, spiritual soundtrack with the Lion King!
You can hear the voice of Mufasa's spirit and feel his presence through the orchestration alone right? Hanz Zimmer is one gifted composer. Not to mention that he also incorporated the true sounds of the nature in Africa, used the Swahili language, and used an authentic African choir sound/style in the vocals and authentic African instruments.
*nods*
For sureee
6:06 no, THIS is why we're here
FINALLY SOMEONE WHO ISN’T HERE FOR SOME OTHER PART.
RinaTheKitty Instant chills!!
stfu
0:00-7:52 is why were here
Yeah!
I love the Lion King. Always watched it growing up. Now I have children of my own; we still watch this movie.
so do i. my brother & i r twins & we were born in 1994 when it came out
Starting at 4:45, that's why you're here
Well me I'm actually here for 6:05.
I don't need a skyscraper neither do i need a mall....... I just need to live in the wilderness and maybe a cup of tea
Nah I came for the whole thing
Actually I'm here for 5:40 best moment in the song
Correct
It is music that gives peace, tragedy, sadness and that leads you to imagine everything or another planet even. and summarize our humanity from the beginning.
The best of Han Zimmer..
16 people have forgotten who they are
make that 17 they're frozen fans hehehe
Ayato Sakamaki ikr trators

234 at the World's End.
Needed something like this in Last Jedi, where Anakin says to Luke in a Vaderish voice.
"Luke."
"Father?"
"Son, you have forgotten me."
"No. How could I?"
"You have abandoned who you are, and so forgotten me. Look within yourself, Luke. You are more than what you have become. You must take your place as the Chosen One."
"How can I go back? I lost Ben to the Dark Side."
"Remember who you are. You are my son, and the heir to the Jedi. Remember... who you are."
That is so deep
This could've been the very scene before he created an illusion to face ben!
i love how a lot of movies are popular for a while, then are forgotten about, but man, The Lion King lives on!
I still get goosebumps
beautiful
omg...just listning to this i started crying....this is a classic that will always remain.....they need to make movies like this again....including the scores
Ey! Where're you going?!
I'm going back!
GOOD! GO ON! GET OUT OF HERE!! Eh hahaha woooo! Hehahaah! Woooo! WOOOOOOO!!!!
So f*ckin EPIC!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!)))
Beautiful piece. The Lion King has the absolute best soundtracks of Disney. Breathtaking.
The score of the "The Lion King" is the best reminder in my life of the indescribable power of music. I don't know how anyone could listen to this and not feel some kind of emotion. For me, it goes straight to where it counts: the heart.
05:06 - "No, look harder!" that Rafiki makes my eyes burn really bad, always😢😭😭
virusmaker506 "You see? He lives in you."

This movie is a masterpiece! It touches he heart & the music is full of emotion.
One of the momentous cartoon moments that shaped my childhood. The nostalgia. The memories. Thank you Hans Zimmer. Thank you Disney.
"You see? He lives in you."
THE best score of all time!
But I’ll remember my prideland.” I saw the Lion King musical about the same time as seeing the first movie and so they’re linked together in my mind.
clicked on this link thinking " o hey which lion king song is this ?" 2 seconds into the song i started feeling goosebumps. Thanks for posting this.

I'm so disappointed they edited out the last 30 seconds in the new movie and replaced it with that boring Beyonce song.
oneshortkat i hated that song
Exactly
I did not go watch the movie for a beyonce!
Not to mention entirely removing Rafiki's lesson
I don’t understand why they had to shoehorn that new song in when they could have perfectly used shadowland…
Good thing the original movie exists then. You can stick to that.
4:45 - 7:51 is what youre here for:) enjoy this beautiful song

WOOOOOOO!!!!!
WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

Ashley Rogers this is why we’re here where’s the full version
I can picture Mufasa walking up to simba in the clouds at 5:40.....still to this day, the most EPIC moment in disney history
5:25 I can literally hear mufasa’s ghost , this soundtrack is simply amazing ❤️
Immediately got chills as I recognised the music where Mufasa appears in the sky. Music and memory is one incredible tie
~The past can hurt. But from the way I look at it, you can either run from it or... learn from it
Ah! You see? So what are you going to do?
@@jaredruff9823 First, I’m gonna take your stick!
gosh, this makes me cry my heart out no matter when and where I hear or actually watch that moment.
4:12 always makes me wanna dance
"Come on follow Rafiki, he knows the way"
7:30 The end of the song with Rafiki xD I love him, he's my favorite character because he's wise and funny at the same time. His wisdom teaches lessons~
“ remember who you are”
-Mufasa
The melody from when Simba was small snuck in there was so beautiful
I don't know why but the part that begins at 6:05 is what my body remembers the most about that movie. Like, of course I know the songs and some dialogues by heart but every time I watch the movie, at that moment I'm beginning to get goosebumps just before the "explosion" and then I cry, which makes absolutely no sense but hey, isn't that the point of Disney?
So yeah, thank you for sharing this beautiful part of this beautiful movie ❤
Even After All those Years ↘️ this Score still stands Strong💪 like an ✨✨ King's Rock ✨✨
7:35 : I know what I have to do but, going back means I’ll have to face my past, and I’ve been running from it for so long.
*WHACK*
This is my favourite track from the whole movie - just so moving and beautiful and reflective. Music you can just sit and think quietly with.
The Movie: Haha you cant make me cry
The Soundtrack alone: *sniff* Its beautiful
I grew up watching The Lion King. It was and still is my absolute favorite Disney classic 💖 25 now and the music still moves me and makes me cry like a baby
Never realized how much I love this movie. I have only watched it twice in my teenage days. That's a real shame.
The... chills at the chorus... It never left after all these years...
"Remember who you are, you are my son and the one true king"- Mufasa
It's amazing how literally 25 seconds (6:06 - 6:31) of music can really move someone that easily! Hans Zimmer, my hat goes off to you.
God bless you.
my mother said that when I was two years old, she said that I would lay on the floor on my belly and watched the Lion King over and over again not recalling how many times. And no wonder I get this nostalgia sad feeling whenever hear the score music. Lion King was my first chapter of my childhood.
Omg I just got the chills. This gives me chills every time
It went to a point where it’s not just a movie or a score . It’s part of my childhood thus part of me of my body . When art surpass us that much I dont like to call it out of this world. I like to call it it’s from the deepest heart of us humans.
5:40
6:06 always will be the best part of the music. THIS IS TALENT.
Disney once could make a masterpiece in a bold fashion that would rock people's hearts. But now..... as if Scar has taken the throne, exploiting its land to the last drop.
5:25 to the end is my favorite. Almost my favorite in the entire movie. It's just so gorgeous.
NO i'm not crying, YOU are crying !!

TheGreenDee I think we are both crying
This taught me the biggest lesson in my life to move on from the past, not to live in it and to get on with life as lifes short but loved ones who have past away will always be alongside you every step of the way.
