    Man Warren has to be our feature back next year. But najee is Tomlin's favorite

    • @Steely_Cam
      @Steely_Cam  3 месяца назад +1

      Warren’s success is BY AND LARGE a function of Najee Harris, and vice versa. When defenses key on Najee in practice and the film room they see a guy they have to collapse on hard, because one guy has no chance in space. Take that same approach on Warren and the second you lower your head he’s zipping right around you. When teams started getting hip to Warren they were keying on stopping him in practice. Keeping their heads up, gap-sound play, and that’s when Najee just ran over them (and Jaylen had a pretty pedestrian game). The more productive RB in any given game is the one the defense WASNT scared of, and DIDNT spend all week talking about how to stop. Neither of them would be as productive without the other. But 100 out of 100 football coaches will line these two guys up, run them through the wringer, every single one of them will tell you Naj is the “better” RB.

    Usually when you have a durable & reliable running back with 3 straight 1,000 yard seasons I’d say their 5th year option is an easy decision. But because of Warren, i think it makes it a conversation. You could draft or sign a backup, and just let Warren start because my god… he is an absolute animal.

    • @Steely_Cam
      @Steely_Cam  2 месяца назад

      He WAS an animal…when he was sneaking up on defenses. He was sneaking up on defenses…because they were prepped for Najee’s running style. When they stopped being worried about Najee and started keying on Jaylen, they shut him TF down. Najee has never been shut-down able. He is the better back. They complement each other perfectly; neither would be as successful without the other, but Jaylen is the COP back. Don’t get that twisted.

    • @Steely_Cam
      @Steely_Cam  2 месяца назад

      You’re wrong. I’ve said it a hundred times: the more PRODUCTIVE back in any given game is the guy the defense DOESNT spend all week prepping for. Most of the season that was Warren. They were watching Najee tape, going “one guy in space has no chance, we have to ‘bumblebee soccer’ this MF.” Suddenly Jaylen got some attention in Cleveland with that long TD, the next week Cincy came out going “ok we have to stay in our gaps, if we try to tackle him like Najee he’ll zip around us the instant we lower our heads” and guess what? Najee went off that week. Jaylen’s not sneaking up on anyone anymore.
