      Szia Levente!
      Ha nem ismered, ajánlom az Otthon Projekt nevű csatornát is itt a YT-on, csak mert ők is ezzel a szemlélettel újítanak fel egy szintén vidéki házat. Nem ilyen professzionális, mint Laura, de az is jó. 😊
      Remélem Laura nem haragszik az ajánlásért, nem konkurencia, más lépték. 😊

      There are videos in hungarian as well and there in particùlar there is a hungarian master of buliding with clay and he is against the glass fiber. The netting is made out of glass fibers but its covered in plastic the clay doesnt like to stick to plastic plus the holes are too small...

    I grew up in the beautiful desert between Phoenix and Tucson, Arizona. My grandmother lived in a house that was part adobe. I always wanted to hang out in that part as it was quiet and temperate. This modern use of ancient materials is thrilling to see.

    Great touch having the rounded edges to the windows..

    • @alis49281
      @alis49281 6 месяцев назад +3

      This is related to thermal insulation. Our window is 8 cm deep in the wall the windows turn open inside (no sliding!) so a 45° on the edges help to open it fully. Additionally: the insulation forms a triangle, which is beneficial for the temperature gradient towards the window.

    Liebe Laura, so schön, dass Du das altgediente und bestbewehrte Naturmaterial Lehm so liebevoll neu vorstellst. Ich durfte jüngst Altbauwände mit Kalk verspachteln und war ähnlich begeistert. Anders als bei der Verarbeitung industrieller Fertigprodukte durfte ich mich bei der Arbeit mit diesem Naturbaustoff über mein Handwerkersein hinaus als Künstler erfahren. Das Material passte sich meiner Tagesform an und ließ sich nach belieben modellieren und gestalten. Ein echter Genuß, welcher die Arbeit zu einem sinnlichen Erlebnis werden lässt. Und garantiert im Anschluss eine enorme Wohnqualität. Schön, dass Du Dir die Arbeit machst. Mögest Du ganz viel Freude mit Deinen Wänden haben und sie Dir viele weitere Inpirationen schenken. Lieber Gruß, Ulrich

    I liked the walls with the clay panels installed but still showing their borders. It made it look as though you were all inside an Egyptian pyramid. Not sure how it would feel to live in one, though. Once those walls were covered and smooth, it took me to the adobe houses I've been in in New Mexico. Very cozy, strong, and inviting. So lovely!

    6:34 Some other comments already said this, but that "glass mesh" is partly plastic. Despite the name, "fiberglass" is plastic reinforced with glass fibers.
    Even Claytec's website says that the glass mesh has a "polymer finish", and "polymer" most often means plastic.

  • @UpLateGeek

    There's an old saying, if you want to make something dirt cheap, you make it out of dirt. In structures that often works out okay to a point.
    Also if I ran a company like Claytec, Laura's channel is the absolute ideal chance to have some marketing, as well as to train my team in the actual application of the product that they're making. I'd have brought out the whole operation for a day or 5 to do the walls and let my team know what they were making, selling, and financing. So it wouldn't just be donated product and time, but it'd be a training workshop for the entire company.

    I just got from a tour of Egypt and I couldn’t help but think of you when I saw all the ancient mud bricks. The Egyptians used to build mud brick ramps to haul their sandstone and granite bricks up to build temples and raise obelisks and solid columns. After, they’d disassemble and crumble the bricks and put them in fields for farming! They also made quick mud brick walls to surround temples in order to protect them from the Nile when it flooded annually. I love that we are still building with materials that our ancestors used over 5000 years ago!

    Love the look of the walls. Not sure if it's as sustainable as plasterboard. After all gypsum is a natural abundant material, covered with paper. Paper can be manufactured in a sustainable way. Seems the whole system with the clay has a lot of manufacturing involed. The fibreglass mesh is plastic reinforced with glass. A plasterboard wall can have it's joins reinforced with paper tape.

    • @alwayslearning7672
      @alwayslearning7672 6 месяцев назад

      Clay has many advantages over gypsum...the main one being it's hydroscopic -- it allows vapor and moisture to pass through is.Gyspum collects it.This is what natural houses are at all about.
      Everything must be vapor diffusion open.
      Clay regulates internal humidity and temperature ,is anti-static, absorbs toxins, neutralises odors,non toxic low in carbon, very good acoustic barrier and more...being the original building material which is the most abundant which can be reused.
      That said, Its disadvantages do not help modern builders at all really when time is money!
      It's not as predictable, random drying time , not so durable (but easily repaired)..does crack easily without some mesh.

    Next bitte: Ich baue mein Haus in den US.
    Würde ich gern sehen, hätte ich Spaß dran.
    Oder wenn ein Haus erstmal zu viel ist, dann halt:
    Baumhaus (für die Tochter und euch)
    Cabin
    Da wird es doch echt so viele Projekte geben, über die du auch neue, coole Leute kennenlernst.
    Ich freu mich auf Neues aus deinem neuen Leben!

    A tip that worked for me in finishing sheetrock was work one surface at a time. You can load both sides if you want but smooth one then the other. Though ive seen seasoned guys break this rule to no consequence so beginer tip. I apply to all things in the begining.😊
    Cant wait for the finished product here should be inspiring.
