They can't. The courts gave a non family member guardianship over her. And I wish people would stop blaming them. Her family loves her. I blows my mind that after all these years people like her, Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Prince and many others tell people don't believe everything you hear. And Marvin Gaye said it best.
I hope she'll be alright in the end of all this and back on top. I believe she will but this is one hellova mountain to climb.

How can someone with an addiction, mental illness, health problems and dementia make a clear and sound decision to be an executive producer of such a big production? Her family must be pushing this and benefiting off of it because no loyal friend and especially family would allow this type of exploitation of their own family member.

Apparently she has a deal with Lifetime, and this is the third/final show she is under contract to produce. Contractually this would have nothing to do with her family, and the restraining order brought by the conservators has been found to be an “impermissible prior restraint on speech that violates the First Amendment of the Constitution.”. She wanted to be famous, she want's to be back on T.V, it really is that simple.

Her niece said she knew off the bat that her cylinders weren’t firing so WHY are they contesting a guardian being in place? Her niece even says she sounded better in the last call. I’m not rushing to judgement against the guardianship it is now apparent that this was the best choice. Sometime it is very hard for family to say, NO to their loved ones. As a result, the people who love them end up enabling them unintentionally. I do feel that the guardians should provide more updates on her health and progress to her family.

Banks for wealthy clients have software that track spending trends and if her usual spending threshold exceeded the norm and they couldn't contact her - I'd imagine they stepped in so they weren't held liable for financial mismanagement. Someone was definitely siphoning her money so the bank better protect itself before they are blamed.

The bottom line is that the family is exploiting this woman for her money and the very fact that they would even put her on a show like this is despicable. They are just lining up to take the cash. don't tell me her niece and the rest aren't getting paid for this show. Saying that she is the executive producer of this program is a joke

Ms Williams was very calculating in her decision(s) as far as making a personal documentary on her life. I don’t think she knew that her mental faculties were deteriorating. How could she? Some would say karma has its gratifying moment now.
I wish she and her family peace at this most difficult time.

It's tragic that she is in the state she's in. Having said that, hearing her say that she wanted to be famous since she was 6 years old, is very telling. Famous for what? She manifested fame. I still don't know what she's famous for. Always seemed very shallow to me. Gossip. Dissing people. It doesn't mean she deserves to be ill --- not at all. But, hearing her niece say that she believes Wendy will resume her career is just a pipe dream. The woman is seriously, irrevocably ill.

She may have alcohol-related brain damage (ARBD) - look-up Wernicke's encephalopathy and Korsakoff's dementia (the first is acute, the second is chronic). Tragically, ARBD is largely as a result of a vitamin deficiency (thiamine, or vitamin B1), since alcohol interferes with its absorption in the gut. Caught early enough, some people's symptoms are reversible, while others unfortunately don't recover. If it brings awareness to just how toxic alcohol is to the body - it's a major risk factor for every kind of cancer - than maybe a documentary may be worth it. No idea whether money is a motivation, but if even one person stops drinking? It might be worth it.

This is horribly sad. From the vivacious t.v personality to a 59 year old woman living with dementia. Unless Wendy was able to fully give cognitive approval for this project, I view it as her family taking advantage of her. Do you think this is how Wendy will get back on t.v, which as her niece said, was her goal? ! They need to put that energy into getting her the best medical care possible.

Whenever there is money involved, there's always a documentary. It's fine for Wendy's niece to say that WENDY wanted the documentary done but did she really understand what the documentary was about??????? I think that documenting WENDY in her sickened state is a violation of her rights. Did she consent to any of this and who is really protecting her because the way I see it, the documentary isn't protecting her, it's exposing her at her weakest because she's sick. My family would never do that to me and I would hope that if anybody did have that idea in their heads that they would have to get my consent long before I ever get sick. My consent when I'm of sound mind. WENDY is not of sound mind and hasn't been for a long time so her niece saying that WENDY wanted this documentary done sounds
    somewhat, BLEMISHED.

As someone with really severe low functioning adhd, without meds I would deal with aphasia several times a day and intense brain fog 24/7 unless I indulged in something terrible like binge drinking, binge eating or starvation- for the dopamine that my body doesn’t produce- let me tell you not being able to communicate or think quickly when you know what it’s like to be able to do so, is absolute hell. I’ve heard dementia at that young of an age can come on really fast & just takes over like an infection. Antics created for TV are one thing but I really can’t recall anything Wendy Williams has ever done offscreen to become so reviled by the public, please have some empathy
